TFS 2013 Build for PL/SQL and Oracle Projects

Hi,
We use TFS Build with SQL Server Projects.
We also have PL/SQL projects .We are using MSSCCI to check in and check out files. Is there anyway we can use TFSbuild for these projects( [PL/SQL]/Oracle) too ?

How do you manually build your PL/SQL/Oracle projects?
TFS Build invoke MSBuild command to build project/solution on build agent machine by default. If these projects can be built using MSBuild command line manually, then we can use TFS Build(default build process template) to build these projects.
If these projects need be built using another complier, and this compiler support run the command line to invoke it, so you can add the InvokeProcess activity(execute the command line) to invoke this compiler to build these projects in build process template,
then create build definition using this customized build process template.

Integration Settings in Oracle Projects

Dear All,
We are looking to integrate Oracle 11i with Primavera, The problem is we couldn't find Integration Settings* option in the Oracle project super user responsiblity. Can anyone guide me how to enable this option.

The options should appear after the patches for Ebusiness suite 11.5.10.2 are applied. The below is what the documentation lists as mandatory patches
EBS 11.5.10 CU2 with the following patches:
– Patch 5644830 for Oracle Projects Rollup Patch 4 for Oracle Projects FamilyPack M (11i.PJ_PF.M).
– Patch 3485155 for 11iPJ_PF.M.
– Patch 8979063 for 11I.MRUP4 : Projects AIA Third Party Application Integration Cumulative Checkin.
– Patch 10189818 - EBS:P6:11i.MRUP4: CUMULATIVE CHECKIN FOR AIA 3.1 RELEASE ISSUES.
Specifically 8979063 provides the required options.
If you have applied the patches above then is my interpretation that something has failed.

Customizing Oracle Projects 11.5.10

We have to customize Oracle Projects, more particularly the pages for adding team members and organizations.
I have followed the steps mentioned in the OA Guide. Imported the relevant server.xml in JDev etc. But I am not able to locate the EOs being used.
Can anyone help in letting us know how to locate the EOs used in PA (Oracle Projects).

I want to add some addl validation logic while team members are being added to the project and also while preparing WBS.
I have located the stored procedure which is inserting/updating records and this proc is being called from VOImpl class. this procedure also has seeded validations from Oracle.
One approach that I have is I can add addl validation code to this proc. It is working also. But this approach will not sustain future upgrades.
Second approach is more logical wherein I extend the concerned VO and write a new package and procedure which will have the original pl/sql code plus our addl validation code.
Then using substitution I will import the extend VO into MDS.
My concern is where should I specify the name of the new package and the procedure. In VO? or in VOImpl.java?

MSP Integration with Oracle Projects

Hi Dina,
Does the integration between MSP and Oracle Projects work without any issues in R 12.1.3? We've tried using it in the past with R 12.0.6 but have to say the experience was not good. It used to work at times and fail on other times. Most of the times the first time import from MSP to Oracle Project used to work but subsequent changes to the WBS used to give issues while trying to import into Oracle Projects (even though the link to the Oracle Project existed in MSP).
One of our new customers (Construction Company) wants to create the WBS in MSP (Microsoft Project ver 2003 or 2007) and then import it into Oracle Projects to track progress, effort and cost. Any changes to the WBS (which happens frequently) will be done in MSP and imported back into Oracle Projects. Does the above mentioned requirement work consistently in R 12.1.3? Please let us know.

The MSP integration requirements that you describe should work in the latest versions of 11i e.g. (FP.M RUP4) as well as R12.1.3.
My experience is that providing all scheduling is done in MSP then the integration functionality works well.
The recommended process flow for MSP integration is:-
•     Oracle Projects: A project manager creates a project in Oracle Projects from a project template containing information for deliverables, work breakdown structures, and resource assignments
•     MSP: The unscheduled resource and workplan data is downloaded to Microsoft Project for scheduling
•     MSP: The project is scheduled in Microsoft Project based on task assignments, task dependencies, task constraints, and other attributes
•     MSP: The scheduled workplan data is uploaded to Oracle Projects for publishing
•     Oracle Projects: The project workplan is published in Oracle Projects
•     Oracle Projects: After the workplan is published, the project is accessible to all team members working on the project. Team members work on their assignments and report their progress in Oracle Projects
•     Oracle Projects: The team members' progress on the tasks is collected for updating the project plan
•     Oracle Projects: The project plan is updated with the team members' progress
•     MSP: The project is now unscheduled. The unscheduled project plan is downloaded to Microsoft Project for rescheduling
•     MSP: The project plan is rescheduled in Microsoft Project and the task information is updated
•     Oracle Projects: The rescheduled workplan is uploaded to Oracle Projects for publication

When Uploading From MSP To Oracle Projects: An Unexpected Error Has Occurre

Hi All,
When I try to send project data From MSP To Oracle Projects, we are getting following error: 'An Unexpected Error Has Occurred. Please Contact Your System Administrator.'
We are at 11i.PA.L
And BNE level 11i.BNE.C
MSP Projects version: 2003
Desktop PC: Windows XP (SP2)
Browser : IE7
We are getting this error only while sending the data to Oracle Projects. On the other hand, there is no problem while receiving projects from Oracle Projects.

If you verify the note, for Windows XP SP2 with additional WebADI patches required
* For BNE.C users - 4613026
* For BNE.D users -- 5334664
as you are on BNE .C please verify whether the patch 4613026 is applied or not. if not please apply the pacth and test the issue

Hi,
Joint Venture Accounting is used when you have atleast two partners - one is Operating and another is Not Operating. They share the risk and revenues. You can then create a JV Agreement using GJAA and Joint Venture Partners under this agreement using GJVV. Further you need to create Equity Group defining their profit sharing ratio.
JVA could be a solution for you since here you can get a report for each JV serparately. You can also use Cutback procedure to claim expenses from the non-operating partners.
However Project System is used for monitoring and executing projects with Budget controls and so on. You can integrate both PS and JVA for your solution.

Hello Annabel,
To move entire projects export them as Aperture Libraries, and then import those Libraries into the other Aperture Library:
Select the Project in the Inspector, then
File -> Export -> Project as Library
In the other Library do:
File -> Import -> Library/ Project
But I am not quite convinced, that the size of your current Aperture Library is responsible for the slowness of Aperture - Aperture is designed to cope with huge libraries.
You may want to post your hardware setup and details of your library, and some of the hardware experts here may help you to find the reason for the slowness.
A huge library should only be a problem, if the projects are too big, and if you have many, many smart albums at the root level of your library.
So keep the projects small, and try to move some of your smart albums to lower levels in your folder structure (then Aperture does not need to scan all of your images to build the smart album).
Other reasons for Aperture's slowness may be, e.g.
An overfull system drive and/or external drive (keep at least 20% of your drives empty)
lack of RAM
a corrupted Aperture Library, that needs repairing
Have you checked those options, before you split your library? It would be a pity to split it, for you would loose the ability to browse all parts at the same time, to use all your images in the Media Browser, etc.

I have an iMac, purchased in January 2011. How can I save an iMovie project to a DVD or Flash Drive which can be played on a PC or any DVD player

I will give you a basic primer, not going to get to in depth, as far as parameters, size of project, or the storage size of your usb flash drive, etc.
1. you have your finished iMovie project. Under iMovie>Share menu. Choose export using quicktime.
2. make Movie self contained. This way your Mov, Mvi, etc files will be part of the movie and it can play without having to reference the events, because it is actually there.
3. so, now on your desktop ( or any where else set up quicktime to save your file) you will see a quicktime file.
Drag & Drop that file on to the icon of your USB Flash Drive, etc.
4. Details that I omitted because I admit I am not well versed. Most Likely that quicktime file is larger than your USB Flash Drive. You have to use one of quicktime compression work flows, also if you open the just created quicktime file. It will open quicktime player and under the File>Export you have to options. I have a Movie that was 42GB 1080P, I exported it as a 720P, so it would still be playable on a large screen and now the new file was less than 2.5GB.
5. Oh, no i just realized that the file should be playable on a PC, as long as the PC has quicktime for windows installled and you left that USB formated at MS DOS as it came originally, or a PC will not recognize it. Will it open up on your Blu-Ray Player that has a USB port, not sure. Since there is no menu. but, perhaps just pushing play will start movie.
