How keep / move libraries between MacPro an MacBook Pro ?

I'm running instances of Aperture on both my Macbook Pro and my MacPro. I need to be able to "migrate" (or move) pictures between the machines, so that the desktop machine is the permenant home, and the Macbook keeps just recent stuff.
Is there a good way to move the Aperture library, or specific projects / folders from one machine to another ? Or, do I have do an export > import ?

Since you can create libraries at will, you can just rename the library on the mbp, copy it to the macpro, and open it from there (you can put it where you want it, make sure aperture is not running, then double click it to automatically set Aperture's prefs to that library, or you can just go to aperture's prefs and choose that library file, quit, and relaunch aperture).
Then for new stuff brought in on the mbp, you can export the project(s) and import it on your macpro as needed, deleting projects from the mbp as you wish (and deleting the stand-alone exported project on your macpro after it's imported so as not to waste space).

Whenever you update one iTunes Library be sure to copy it to the other two computers. It goes in the /Home/Music/ folder. You can probably does this easily over your local network using File Sharing.
Copy the most recently changed iTunes Library folder to a USB flash drive. Use the flash drive to copy that library onto the other two computers.
Use a backup/sync utility to update each computer over your local network.

Good sound costs money. And with a 5.1 system your usually doing surround sound decoding for BlueRay movies etc. for home theater purposes.
The PC 5.1 surround sound systems require a audio card in a PC tower and mainly used for playing 3D games so that won't work for any Mac at all. So don't buy a PC 5.1 surround sound system for your Mac.
Harmon Kardon has the GoPlay, it's a portable stereo with awesome sound (not as good as their theater systems) and you can hook up a analog male/male stereo mini cable to it from the Mac.
$200 and it has a iPod dock and also takes like 8 batteries so it's portable.

How to move files between folders within Lightroom 3?

I would like to move a file from one folder to another within Lightroom 3 (let's not discuss why). I searched the threads but couldn't find the answer (maybe I missed it). When I click on a photo within grid view then drag and drop that file onto a different folder in the folder panel (to do the move), a little plus sign (copy) appears and a copy of the file is placed in the second folder. If I try to delete the photo from the original folder (to get the move), both copies of the file are removed. I've tried holding down all sorts of keys on the imac but cannot get the move to work. Ideally, I'd like to move a group of photos but cannot even move one. Does anyone know how to move files between folders in Lightroom 3?

1. Insert your DVD.
2. Open Disk Utilities (Application> Utilities> Disk Utilities). Highlight your DVD and press "New Image" on the upper toolbar.
3. Choose the location you would like to save your DVD from the drop down menu, "Desktop" is usually the best choice. Then click Save.
4. When finished, your DVD icon will appear on the desktop with the .dmg extension.
5. With iMovie open, double-click the .dmg file you created to mount it. The iMovie import window will then appear asking you to choose. Click Import All and wait for the Import to complete.

Go to system profiler and report back the amount of RAM that you have.
Make sure that you have at least 20% of your hard drive free.
Make sure you don't have a lot of items on your desktop as that can slow things down.
Quit applications that aren't responding or you aren't using and won't be using for a while.
~/Library/Caches Quit all applications and delete this folder. Do a regular delete then do a secure erase on all the items that won't delete.
If it only happens with a certain application (Safari for example)...
1. Quit the application (Safari)
2. Open ~/Library/Preferences and find the file for safari (com.apple.Safari.plist).
3. Put the file in the trash. Do NOT empty the trash yet. Open the application and make sure everything's ok. Now you can delete the file. In Mail if you trash the file, you will get rid or your setup.
Make sure that your dashboard doesn't have too many widgets and use Activity Monitor to see what it's using.
There are ways to disable if you want to.
Make sure that all of your software is up to date.
Repair permissions (it can't hurt)
Don't have a lot of login items.
Your internet browser shouldn't have a lot of extensions.
