How listening audio output with console digidesign 002

i have conncected the fcp5 with the digidesign 002. I have made all the necessary settings, that provide the connection, through audio/video settings/user preferences etc... Though, when i put something to the canvas, i can listen from the speakers, but the channels of didgidesign don't communicate with the audio channels in fcp.2)when i do log and capture from the cam, the logged footage has sound, but i can't listen to it, when the sound is connected via digidesig. It seems that something is wrong but i don't know what. Does anyone knows?

You have to use the Digi-002 in Standalone mode, as a mixer. Press the standalone button and then select 'Yes'.
I connect the optical audio cable from my G5 into the optical audio in the back of the 002. You'll have to read the manual to make faders 7 and 8 'listen' to the optical port rather than the XLR inputs. And then in System preferences on the MAC, the Audio Out would be Optical Digital-Port out.
The only time I use the 002 in it's regular mode is i) when I'm using Pro Tools, or ii) when I'm using Garageband and using the 002 as my audio input device.

Audio output with aerender

I'm encountering a strange behavior on CC's aerender that becomes different depending on the presence of ae_render_only_node.txt, even if it's not supposed to.
I've made an example project called test.aep, with a custom output module called "QTAudioOn," with "Audio Output On" to have an audio track every time something gets rendered.
test.w_node.mov is when there was ~/Documents/ae_render_only_node.txt, test.wo_node.mov is when there wasn't. In the same configuration, the yielded files came out different.
test.w_node.mov was missing an audio track, that is supposed to be silent track according to the output module configuration.
It seems test.w_node.mov was created using "Audio Output Auto" output option which was newly introduced with CC. The same process was never a problem with CS6. This problem frustrated me since we concatenate videos in order and merge the audio with other audio track programatically using MP4Box and ffmpeg. Missing audio track scrambles the result video in concatenation process.
Is there any way to fix this problem? Maybe I could make silent track using ffmpeg, but it seems too much.

Edit: test.aep consists of only one red solid object, nothing else.

For those who are interested, here's how to add a silent audio track to rendered video:
$ ffmpeg.exe -f lavfi -i aevalsrc=0,aconvert=s16:stereo -y -i input.mp4 -shortest -c:v copy -c:a aac -b:a 192k -ar 48000 -strict experimental output.mp4

No audio output with wireless projector connection

I use EasyMP Network Projection software to connect wirelessly to a projector. Until about two weeks ago (before Yosemite OS came out) the connection stopped streaming sound through the projectors speakers. The video works but the sound only comes out of my laptops speakers (Macbook Air) and I don't see the projectors audio output show up in the sound control panel. I know the projector is not to blame because other people can use the projector and get sound out of it. I'm also getting an error upon opening the EasyMP software that says "You need to restart your computer to enable Audio Output" but restarting the computer makes no difference.
Steps taken to resolve issue:
Uninstalled and reinstalled the EasyMP software
Reset the SMC
Restarted the computer
Repaired file permissions with Disk Utility.

I have outputs 1+2 connected to a pair of Audix powered monitors. I've tested the monitors with other audio sources, and they work. Also, I'm not getting any audio from the headphone jack. This makes me think that I've either got something set incorrectly with the software, or there's something wrong with the mixer.
I also tried running Garageband with the FW-1884 and had the same problem, if that helps.

Audio Output with fullsize headphones

I don't know the specs on the audio outputs for the iMac but can it sufficiently support a Sennheiser HD555 or HD595 headphones for full audio potential? I believe those cans have a 120 ohm impedance so I'm unsure if an amp is needed.

Optical output using a DigiDesign 002 Rack

Hi there,
I'm wanting to use the optical output on my 002 Rack but am not able to get it working (no sound).
The rack's connected to my Macbook Pro (firewire), and I'm running Logic Pro 8.

Just a quick question in addendum to what has been said. Perhaps best directed to the Digidesign/Avid technical support people...
The Digi 002 has an option for "Mirrored Outputs from analog 1+2 to Digital Out" in the Core Audio Manager. Surely one should thus see signal being input when the system pref's input is set to Digital In, right?
Or is there no way to monitor via analog 1+2 and output via the digital ADAT on the 002 at the same time? Does one have to flip sources in the hardware manager in Pro Tools?
I thought mirrored would send to both outputs, but clearly it doesn't as I'm seeing no input from Digi 002 digital out to Mac digital in in the system pref's input level bars.
Any advice would be dearly appreciated.

Audio Output with firewire audio interface issue

Hi, i have a quick question that maybe someone here can answer for me. I originally posted this in the OS X forum but someone recommended that I may get better help here.
I have a PowerPC G5 with Mac OS X 10.4.11. I do a lot of home recording and use a Presonus Firebox Firewire recording box. I recently picked up some new monitor speakers that I run the outputs of my Firebox to and I use the Firebox as my output sound device in my system preferences.
Everything works pretty well unless I touch one of the volume buttons on my keyboard (which I tend to do out of habit pretty often). If I do press one of the buttons the volume dips way down and I have to pump my speakers and firebox volume up all the way up to hear them. If I do this, and then happen to put my computer to sleep when I awake the computer the volume is now at an extremely high level until of course I press one of the volume buttons on the keyboard.
The big problem is I have twice in the first two days of having my new speakers turned them way up and later in the day awoke my computer from sleep mode and had itunes or a dvd BLAST out of my speakers at a ridiculous volume.
My question would be is there some way in os x I can disable the volume buttons from being used if i am using a different output device? OR is there a better way for me to set my system up in my system preferences?
It was suggested in another forum that I look into the help for the Firebox unit instead of the mac so I have started to do this as well. I just thought that because everything works fine UNTIL I touch the computers keyboard it seems like the computer is making some drastic change in how the sound is being output, so I thought I'd try to find an answer here as well!

I do realize that I have multiple volume controls going on here in a chain. First my computer, then the Firebox interface, then my speakers have volume knobs...
But what I am seeing is when I first press a volume key on my computer (even if it is the VOLUME UP key) there is drastic lowering in volume. Only until I put my computer to sleep, and awaken it does the volume return to a normal level.
It seems that when I am pressing the volume on my computer it is activating something on the mac's end... or changing the way the sound is being output.
Again all of this could be avoided by me not pressing those 3 keys on my keyboard... but old habits die hard! so if there was a way for my mac to give total control of sound output over to my firebox that would be best.
any more help is greatly appreciated!

Check this setting
If your SD output configuration is set up correctly, an e-mail from SAP using medium 5 should go through just fine via SAPconnect (transaction SCOT). When it works, the external recipient should receive an e-mail with a PDF attachment containing the form image, regardless of whether it has been created via SAPscript or Smart Forms.
Depending on your output determination settings, this even can happen in the background, without any interaction with the SAP front end (e.g. for invoices created automatically by a batch job).
Typically, a failed send will be flagged in the message control table (NAST), and this table should be monitored closely. However, there are many reasons why a document hasn't gone through, and this can be the case with both outgoing faxes and e-mails from SAP.
The solution to both is the same: After identifying the failed document, re-send it manually by going inside it in change mode and repeating the appropriate output. If an obsolete customer e-mail address was the culprit, a customer master change would also be required, along with an audit of any docs recently created for this customer.
If any underlying data has changed since initial issuance, a re-sent document may not appear identical to the (failed) original.
Sometimes, as when address info has been corrected, this can be a good thing. After all, the new document is more accurate than the old one.
In other cases, such as when pricing info has changed, it might be a cause for serious concern.
There are several ways to deal with this concern:
1) Limit the types of changes allowed on certain docs after creation
2) Set up a doc image archive via ArchiveLink and re-issue output from there instead of from the current doc; or
3) For highly sensitive docs, consider a more secure delivery method

I'm running the script to unload table into the file, and it works fine, myfile.dat getting its data,
I just want to stop rows I'm getting written into console display, anybody knows what option I can use for that?

You can call sqlplus with the -s options to avoid the login banner and prompt.
And use set termout off to keep stuff from displaying.

How to display output with 3 levels in ALV

He experts,
     I have on classical report & it output is with 3 levels, like
           Ex: material no<Level-1>
                        customer no<Level-2>
                                            date<Level-3>.
         For this i used 2 select staments within select & endselect statmens.
Now i want to display in ALV. I can't use Hierarchy FM for this bcoz more than 2 levels.
Plz help on this

Audio output with monitor conneted

i ahve a macbook pro and whenever i connect it to my cinema display then hook up to speakers i get this feedback on audio system. if i unplug monitor feedback dissapears. does any1 know a way to solve this?

Maybe you don't really mean feedback. Are you hearing a very loud squealing? That is acoustic feedback from an open microphone near speakers.
Do you hear soft varying buzzing noises? That seems to be a ground problem with external display and external speakers connected. See this thread:

Premiere CS4 Audio Output with Decklink

Hi,
i found serveral posts in the net for my Problem, but no solution.
Were on a WindowsXP machine with Premiere CS4 and a Blackmagic Decklink Card.
If we choose a Sequence-Preset from Blackmagic Decklink (which is important for us) and choose the internal Soundcard for Audio Playback,
we dont hear anything. The Audio is routed through the Decklink. We have tried everything to achieve that that audio will be played through the internal Soundcard, but it seems as if the Settings are overwritten by the Decklink Preset.
In CS3 this Problem doesnt exist.

How to get the Mac Mini Digital Audio output at 192kHz?

I have a mid 2011 Mac Mini (and love it). According to http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4806, "The headphone / line output port accommodates digital optical audio output, analog audio output with a 24-bit, 44.1-192 kHz D/A converter, digital audio output up to 24-bit stereo and 44.1-192 kHz sampling rate and supporting encoded digital audio output (AC3 and DTS)."
So there is digital audio output to 192 kHz but how do you configure it to work? Using the Audio Midi Setup Utility, I can set the sample rate to 96000 Hz -- but it won't go higher to 192kHz. Anyone know how to do this?

That is in some ways confusing. For the analog output, the
internal DAC can support 24 bit/192Khz audio data. It does
require an application that has the capability of playing back
such material.
The TOSLINK optical standard does not support this data rate.
It has nothing to do with the Mini, it is the standard itself. The
TOSLINK optical spec is 96 kHz, 24 bit stereo (uncompressed).
The mini will however support multichannel, 24 bit, 192 kHz
(uncompressed) via the HDMI interface. Also, again,
the playback software needs to support it.
Just as a final note, unless the source material has the
higher sample rate format, there is no benifit to outputing
at the higher sample rate, especially if the source some
lossy comporessed format (mp3, aac, Dollby and DTS
non-HD formats).
