How long does it take after switching on an iPhone 4S before you can enter the SIM card PIN?

I have question concerning the iPhone 4s. I am currently not sure if my iPhone 4S shows a malfunction or not.
After switching on my iPhone 4S it can take more 45 seconds before the dialog to enter SIM card PIN is displayed. I observe the same duration with two SIM cards from two different providers. It is not fully reproducible. In some care cases the dialog for requesting the SIM card PIN is also displayed after a few seconds. On my iPhone 3GS and my iPad this dialog is always displayed with the same SIM cards already after a few seconds. Could you please let my know how long does it take with your iPhone 4S?

I had a similar issue activating by HTC DNA. The activation instructions Verizon sends are horrible since they explicitly mention that you do not need to call in to activate your phone. I left my SIM activation running overnight and it just didn't work. I finally called Verizon from my work phone the next day and the agent informed me that you do need to call to activate your SIM card. You will need to have your SIM card ready when you call (to provide the long string of numbers on the back of the card). Hope this helps!

profile still shows 16 articles. I will try to check if our statistics are being updated, but it could be the same issue we already know about (no Wiki activities in profiles).

How long does it take to switch?

I received/activated my new iphone just fine on 11/4/07 I am able to do everything BUT receive phone calls, and text messages. I am switching my number over from Sprint, and I realize that it takes awhile for the conversion to complete, however it's been almost a week, and I'm walking around with two phones. Is this normal? Should I call AT&T? How long does it really take to transfer a number over?

AT&T has a department that helps with porting issues, you may want to contact them.
Some things that may hold up the previous carrier may show an account issue. If that is the case you may need to pay the early termination fee with the previous carrier before the transfer can go through.

How long does it take to be an "official iPhone Developer?"

I decided that I wanted to be a iPhone developer a couple of days after the March announcement. So I filled out the contact information, and of course got the reply that the beta program was full.
Fast forward to July 14th, when I got a email from the iPhone Dev folks that my application was being reviewed. It is now July 26th, and I still haven't got an answer back. Does it really take this long to even become a developer??? Can someone get turned down? If so, why? Do you have to tell Apple what you plan to develop?
I have never had to go through such hoops to become a developer for any other platform. You just pay your money and bang there your are, if you even need that. I'm not an official OS X developer because, I really don't need pre-released software.
Also, since all I want to do is just run my own apps on my own iPhone/touch, do you really have to get the official stamp of approval for Apple to get a 'signature"? Do you have to go through Apple to even distribute your apps, even if you may or may not sell them?
Finally, is there anyway to get a file to your iPhone application to read outside of adding it to your application's resources, or create a socket and read it in?

I signed up to be an iPhone developer two days ago and today I have my app running on my iPhone. It takes less than a day to get signed up. BUT, you need to watch out for one thing. When I originally placed my order for the $99 SDK I seemed to have checked some tax related checkbox I shouldn't have. The order completed as expected. But 36 hours later I had no email showing the order and I wasn't accepted yet. So I logged into my account on the Apple online store and looked at my order history. Sure enough, my order had a big red flag (not literally) stating I needed to fax in some tax exemption form. What? So I called the 800 number on the bottom of the screen. Since I'm an individual this shouldn't have been required. The guy on the phone sent me over to the small business dept who took care of the issue and the next day I had all my emails showing I was in the program.
So if you sign up these days and it takes more than a day, check your order status.

You mean Business Catalyst? And that you have set up your domain registra a record or DNS to point to BC and that you have set up correctly the domain in the domain manager?
If you done those correctly it depends on the domain. If it is same country domain like a .co.uk then it can be just a few hours if you have a good ISP, if it is a domain like a .com it can take up to 24 hours.
In any case some ISP's will update their cache faster then others so some people will see the new site but some may not for a little while longer. A good 24 hours rule is a safe bet to ensure everyone sees the new site you take live.

It's been 6 hrs and my iCloud is still syncing ..I don't think this is normal!!!

Being able to back up to the cloud can be very useful, especially if you don't have access to a computer or have infrequent access to one, however unless you specifically need to use iCloud for back up, you will find backing up to iTunes significantly more convenient and possibly more reliable.

If the seller didn't do the above, you need to get the seller to do this. If you don't, you won't be able to re-activate the phone. It will be useless to you.
