How long does Oleophobic Screen last?

I just bought a new 3GS phone for 2 days. I discover that the screen is free from finger prints whereas the black rear case is full of finger prints. It seems the new oleophobic coating is really workable. I have not bought any screen protector yet but I ask myself what is the point to buy it. The screen protector must deteriorate some degree of touch screen performance. However, I am doubt how long a coating can last! Can some experienced users share usage experience with me. Thanks!

I have had my 3GS since Sept 2009. I gets some heavy use (but careful and not roughly handled) and sometimes with sweaty fingers when I am in the gym and use my iPhone 3GS in a sports armband. The finger marks wipe off just has easy as they did on day one.
The Oleophobic screen coating should last a while, and I would be very surprised if it wore off within 12 months or even longer come to mention it. Every day touch screen use should mean the coating should last for years in my opinion.

  • HT4623 Hi!My iPAD lost its charge fast !!I've got an iPAD capacity 57,1GB and it has available 55,1GB ,version 7.0.4 .I'd like to know how long does the battery last when it is 100 % charged.

Hi!I've just installed the iOS 7.0.4 operating system and the battery lost its charge at an incredibly speed.I'd like to know how long does the battery last if everything is right when it has 100% charge. Thanks!

I`m `propping` up this thread to to the top of the forums again as it`s been three months and not a single community member or Apple support personnel have replied, which I find discouraging.
I`ve tried everything - both the iOS device(s) and Apple TV have been upgraded (albeit reluctantly) to the latest versions, since iOS 7 looks like crap compared to iOS 6. Both use the same WiFi network. Bluetooth is set to `off`, as per the online tutorials on the Apple Support page.
I also tried shutting all of them down, including the router, waiting 30 seconds and turning the router, then the Apple TV then the iOS device on sequentially with 30 seconds in between each, again as per this discussion forum, and still nothing.
Why can Apple not make a technology, such as AirPlay, work with greater than 10%?
    Any other ideas?
    Come on, people.
    Thanks,
    Doug

As I wrote Apple will diagnose an Apple product even if it is out of warranty for free. That should be your first step to find out if the problem is the battery or something else.
Once you have Apple telling you a 7 month old battery is defective (if that turns out to be the case)  then it becomes a game of horse trading. You'll need to speak to the tech and when he tells you there is nothing he can do you will need to speak to the tech manager and when she says most likely there is nothing they can do you go to the store manager, etc.  It is unlikely (though possible) that they will give in easily you need to be firm, polite and let on that you're willing to accept a partial reimbursement.
So again the first step is to find out what is wrong.
    good luck

  • How long does iPad 2 last after it is lost?

I left my iPad on the bus today (It has not been a good day). First thing I did was ring up the bus company. I then jumped onto the iCloud.com and used "Find my iPhone". I eventually located it (at my university), we locked ot, sent a message and played a noise / tone thing.
I checked back on it a few hours later and it was no where to be found on iCloud, it was wifi only, but the whole uni is connected via wifi.
My questions is, how long does the iPad last with these features enabled. There were only like three or four apps open. Other than that, I think i am screwed.
    Any ideas? Thanks in Advance.

  • How long does a tick last for the Tick Count (ms) VI in LabVIEW?

I'm trying to compare the timing performance between a VI implemented in LabVIEW and another VI implemented in LabVIEW FPGA module. If I use the Tick Count in both VIs (every one in their own module), I want to know how long does a tick last in LabVIEW standard (in the computer)?
    Thanks

I have this doubt because I read that a tick lasts 55ms in the following source:

My tick count provides me better results than the hardware results, which is impossible because this is the same algorithm. If I consider the 55ms time, then the FPGA is really faster.
                              Hardware          Software with                  Software with
(ms)        1 ms Tick Count (ms)     55ms Tick Count (ms)
    Algorithm 1          49.48                   1.5552                               84.535
    Algorithm 2         0.8875                  0.032                                 1.87
    Algorithm 3         0.1756                  0.0241                               1.43
    Algorithm 4          0.27                     0.27                                   1.32
    What's your opinion?
    Thanks again
I think you are misunderstanding what the value of a "tick" is.  From what I gathered from reading your link (which I couldn't get to from your post, but accidentally ran into on a search) a tick of the OS clock."  Curiously, though - why 55ms?  That was mentioned as the tick of a Win95/98 OS!
I guess you can say that the it returns the value of the next "tick" of the OS clock and returns that value in ms.  So, the value of a tick varies from OS to OS.  In Windows 95/98, for example, you can only look at the OS clock every 55ms or so, but it still returns a value that represents ms.

    Until it dies.
That would depend entirely on what you do with it and how much you use it.

  • How long does my timecapsule last?

I have a 2TB timecapsule from 2010, how long does it last?
my external harddisk cannot backup all files on the timecapsule any more and so I have to chose to buy a new time capsule and use the current one as backup; or buy a 100 euro new external harddisk. But how long is the lifetime of a timecapsule anyway....
    thanks,

    Just look through the discussions..
People are having serious setup issues.
Wireless not working to devices where it did with the older one.
Slow disk performance. Much worse than the old TC.
Many seem to work for a couple of days and then fail.. so unreliable.
I do not have one.. I am only going by what is posted.. but if you like being on the bleeding edge then go for it. Personally I prefer to buy a product that has a bit more maturity.

  • Simple question: How long does my presentation last?

Where do I find the length of a presentation? I've got slides and have everything timed to a duration. Doesn't Keynote someplace tell me how long the overall presentation will last? Thanks.

Keynote does not tell you an overall run-time unless you actually run the presentation and watch the counter in the Presenter Display.
CAVEAT: The actual duration of the presentation depends on the processor speed of the computer doing the playback. Specifically, all Builds, Transitions, and Delay durations will vary with the playback. In Keynote, not all seconds are created (or recreated) equally.
    Good luck.

  • Apple's iPad life How long does an iPad last in years?

Hi .......ok so I got an iPad 4th Gen 16gb in New York last year (February 2013) and I was just wondering how long this will last, not in Battery life but in how long I can use it until it starts to get really slow and lagging and goes completely dead in years! I use my iPad regularly  maybe 4-5 hrs a day (average, sometimes more in a day and sometimes less) so can anyone help me how many years will I have my iPad before I will need a new one I keep my iPad in Great condition and no one uses bar me and I don't ever drop it or put anything illegal on it  so it is kept in great condition some people say that it depends on the size in GB on the iPad I have a 16GB white. Can anyone help me how long should I have my iPad for?

There is really nothing inside to break.   The originals are still running fine, as are many 10 yr old I pods.  As meg points out, at some point the flavor of programs that are developed need more muscle, you will find your pad not as powerful as the newer one are.  But in theory, it should do what it does now until your drop it or lose it.
You will have a battery issue at some point, but worry about it.   I ran a pad 1 and then a pad 2 pretty heavily for 2 full years and never had a battery issue at all.
I finally uped to the pad air- not because I needed to;  my trusty pad 2 did every thing I used it for.  I just wanted to future proof myself.
So use it to your full needs, and when you are ready, pass it along, or resell it, and upgrade yourself.
Your biggest challenge will be dealing with the 16 gig size.    Next time around ( in a year or two) get a larger size. :)
