How long does Photoshop CC take to install?

It's at 14% and taken an hour and a half to get that far. This is BS for just one app.

That explains a lot. Adobe is stupid! When something says that it is installing and takes forever.....you think there is an issue. If I had known it was downloading....I'd be happier and no thread would of been made.
I do have a slow internet connection. My system; i7 3930k, 500GB SSD & GTX 760.

Hi, I just got a new MacBook Pro. I'm installing Final Cut Studio 2 on it and I was wondering how long it normally takes to install that program on this type of computer. Right now it's saying 10 hours (and that's after 2 hours having already passed). Is that normal? Is my MacBook Pro going at the right speed? Is it normal for the laptop to be hot?

10 hours does not seem right at all. Should take several minutes at best. The entire OS installation is under an hour. Post your issue in the FCS forum area here:

I downloaded Lion OS two days ago and my MacBook is still showing the spinning wheel after 36 hours. Any idea how long it takes to install Lion OS 10.7.2?

Just to check - have you successfully downloaded Lion and is it just the install process that's taking ages?
If it's downloaded OK the install time is way too long. I would have thought half an hour max to install if everything goes as it should. Time to quit and start over.
The downloaded Lion installer should be in your Applications folder (it disappears after installation, so it's a good idea to copy it to a USB stick/DVD so that you don't have to re-download it in the future).
Hopefully the failed attempt at installing won't stop the Mac booting.
Before running the installer again I'd suggest running Disky Utility to verify/repair your HD and also run Repair Disk Permisssions.

Is this resolved yet? What operating system are you using? The progress bar when installing uses the first half for the download, and second half for the installation, so if it gets half way and appears to go no further, there is a problem with the install. Best practice in this situation is to restart your computer, and run the Desktop Application Manager as Administrator. (Right click from Windows. I don't know about OSX) That usually leads to a successful install.
Note that if you have tried to install and it has all gone pear shaped further into the installation process, you probably need to use the Cleaner tool

i just got a mac book pro 2011 i am new to it and trying to merge my PC with it. i installed the latest Lion, purchased parallels desktop 7 for Mac, installed that, then Windows 7. during bootcamp dowload stays froze in the middle. i dont know if i can merge computers with out boot camp. if i click on windows parrallel it just closes again. i cant instruct it to merge with out it opening. i tried to uninstall parrarellel and re install but it says i cant because its running. when i try to quit it, its not listed in the running list. so i cnnot transfer my old PC over, i am wondering if this has to do with bootcamp assistant either being stuck or taking a lifetime to install. HELP

You are mixing me up.
If you want Windows to run natively, you install Windows on its own partition.
Boot Camp Assistant first partitions the drive space; downloads drivers (which is slow and troublesome)
Parallels can use Windows partition - later - so you have guest VM OS plus dual booting.
Apple has Windows Migration Assistant, or you can use Windows Easy Transfer (if you ran that first on originial system)
If you have trouble with Parallels I'd pursue their Help, FAQs and forum.

Have the same problem, I have just installed and run Nokia Ovi suite. Everything went well until trying to download the latest software for my 5800XM. It's taken more than 25 min and it hasn't ended yet. it only says: preparing to download.

I just upgraded from Aperture 2 to Aperture 3 and installed latest updates to Aperture 3.2.2 and I have a message at the bottom of the browser: "Face detection..." with a spinning wheel. This has been going for over an hour. But it took six hours for Aperture 3 to upgrade my Aperture 2 library (approximately 60,000 photos). Am I looking at the same sort of time frame for "face detection"?

Thanks for the info... but I just answered my own question: I went to Aperture Preferences (thanks to someone's suggestion that this is where to turn off Faces) and an activity screen popped up showing Face detection progress. (Cool!) It's going thru all my images... and right now the status is 4,080 of 55,182. Very nice. So looks like I have a few more hours to go!

The extraction of files should not take more than a few minutes. Please cancel and retry.
In case you still face issues consider redownloading the package again.

My apologies. I meant to say iOS 7.02, but I guess my wishful thinking for 7.03 being out there got in the way.
BTW, it took me the better part of 1/2 hour to install 7.02 over top of my existing 7.0 iPad 3rd-gen installation.
Some suggestions (if not outright hints and tips) for everyone when you upgrade your iPads:
Make sure you keep at least about 1-2 GBs of free space on your iPad AFTER installing iOS 7 or later, otherwise you may risk seeing your performance suffer big-time.
I like filling my 64 GB iPad bucket with apps, and shortly after I finished downloading a couple of really HUGE games to fill that remaining 3.5 GBs of space that I had after upgrading from iOS 6 to iOS 7 (notably, Asphalt 8, Megapolis HD, etc), things REALLY started to slow down, and, most importantly, SCREW up, leading to crashes if I opened apps, crashes and restarts just updating apps, even crashes if I swiped to unlock and change a few basic settings
Hoping some of these performance issues will be addressed in a future iOS 7.1 upgrade, or, at least, we see recognition and guidelines of where this water line should be from Apple. My guess is, if they do this, they will get about one gazillion articles from the Apple journo community, not to mention a boatload of complaints.
My gut instinct is saying at least about 1-2 GBs is where this presumably critical operational waterline is, but depending on your iPad, your mileage may vary, so this is just a heads-up and to keep an eye on your usage and storage stats if you see your performance take a hit without warning.
My current solution: Start deleting apps until you get back to that 1-2 GB free zone level. I didn't even need to restart to see my performance improve to something approaching enjoyable, if not tolerable.
