How long does the timemachine last?
Hi Guys,
I have read that timemachine only lasts for a year. Is it true?
Thank You
Not sure what you mean.
About TM "Backup Drive is Full"
Alert TM only deletes older files if they have been deleted from the source and when TM needs space on the backup drive for a new incremental backup. Time Machine "thins" it's backups; hourly backups over 24 hours old, except the first of the day; those "daily" backups over 30 days old, except the first of the week. The weeklies are kept as long as there's room.
So, how long a backup file remains depends on how long it was on your Mac before being deleted, assuming you do at least one backup per day. If it was there for at least 24 hours, it will be kept for at least a month. If it was there for at least a week, it will be kept as long as there's room.
Note, that on a Time Capsule the sparsebundle grows in size as needed, but doesn't shrink. Thus, from the user's view of the TC it appears that no space has been freed, although there may be space in the sparsebundle.
Once TM has found it cannot free up enough space for a new backup it reports the disk is full. You can either erase the backup drive and start your backups anew or replace the drive with a larger drive.

Hi!I've just installed the iOS 7.0.4 operating system and the battery lost its charge at an incredibly speed.I'd like to know how long does the battery last if everything is right when it has 100% charge. Thanks!
I`m `propping` up this thread to to the top of the forums again as it`s been three months and not a single community member or Apple support personnel have replied, which I find discouraging.
I`ve tried everything - both the iOS device(s) and Apple TV have been upgraded (albeit reluctantly) to the latest versions, since iOS 7 looks like crap compared to iOS 6. Both use the same WiFi network. Bluetooth is set to `off`, as per the online tutorials on the Apple Support page.
I also tried shutting all of them down, including the router, waiting 30 seconds and turning the router, then the Apple TV then the iOS device on sequentially with 30 seconds in between each, again as per this discussion forum, and still nothing.
Why can Apple not make a technology, such as AirPlay, work with greater than 10%?
Any other ideas?
Come on, people.
Thanks,

I refurbished my macbook air 7 months ago because there was a problem with the steady state drive. Now my battery seems to be dead again. How long does the warranty last? Do I need to pay for a new battery?
As I wrote Apple will diagnose an Apple product even if it is out of warranty for free. That should be your first step to find out if the problem is the battery or something else.
Once you have Apple telling you a 7 month old battery is defective (if that turns out to be the case) then it becomes a game of horse trading. You'll need to speak to the tech and when he tells you there is nothing he can do you will need to speak to the tech manager and when she says most likely there is nothing they can do you go to the store manager, etc. It is unlikely (though possible) that they will give in easily you need to be firm, polite and let on that you're willing to accept a partial reimbursement.
So again the first step is to find out what is wrong.
good luck -

Until it dies.
That would depend entirely on what you do with it and how much you use it. -

If I rent a movie thru iTunes, how long does the rental last?
It lasts 30 days from the time of rental, or 24 hours from the time it's first viewed(if in the USA), or 48 hours from the time it's first viewed(outside the USA), whichever comes first.

After you install a trial version it will normally last 30 days, though there are times when trial versions expire prematurely.

How long does the warranty last??
can someone tell me how long it lasts on a iPhone 4 please? :)
Once the warrantly on an iPhone runs out you can get it repaired for a fixed price. In the USA the price is $200. But you will probably want a new model by then, anyway.
The Applecare plan for computers is 3 years from date of purchase. After that you pay for the repair, just as with any other computer (or consumer product). -
How long does the novelty last?
I am considering getting the iPhone4 but the additional £15pcm in addition to having to pay for MMS is making me think hesitate. Then there are all the problems which fill these pages.
However, am still finding myself looking at deals all the time and on the verge of going into a store to see what if anything can be done.
A friend has said that after the novelty has worn off, he tends to only use the phone and SMS parts of the phone - so is it worth getting?Everyone is different in how they use their iPhone, for sure!
We've found that we use a range of services supported by a range of Apps - everything from shopping through weather to games.....not all at the same time though!
Web-browsing is something we use more than we thought too, but mainly for additional information or confirmation of things we see when out-and-about or when we are trying to find something specific when 'on the road'.
We're surprised how many people we know do tend still to use their iPhones (of any generation) only for calls and SMS though.
I'd have a look at which carrier is offering you a non-inclusive iPhone deal though - it sounds like you might be ripped-off for 'services' with MMS being 'extra'. Be careful about that one, and 'good luck'! -
As above
All music, movies, videos and books from the iTunes Store are a one-time purchase and are yours to keep and use as long as you wish.
BTW, this forum is for questions about iTunes U, Apple's service for colleges and universities to post educational material in the iTunes Store. Normally you will get the quickest and most applicable responses if you ask your questions in the general iTunes forums.

How long does the full charge last?
How long does the battery last on a full charge
Hi Jason,
The iPod nano (3rd Generation) has a battery life of 24 hours of music playback and 5 hours of video playback. This will deteriorate over time as the battery becomes consumed. Total charge time should be around 3 hours.

How long does iPad 2 last after it is lost?
I left my iPad on the bus today (It has not been a good day). First thing I did was ring up the bus company. I then jumped onto the iCloud.com and used "Find my iPhone". I eventually located it (at my university), we locked ot, sent a message and played a noise / tone thing.
I checked back on it a few hours later and it was no where to be found on iCloud, it was wifi only, but the whole uni is connected via wifi.
My questions is, how long does the iPad last with these features enabled. There were only like three or four apps open. Other than that, I think i am screwed.
Any ideas? Thanks in Advance. These links may be helpful.

How long does a tick last for the Tick Count (ms) VI in LabVIEW?
I'm trying to compare the timing performance between a VI implemented in LabVIEW and another VI implemented in LabVIEW FPGA module. If I use the Tick Count in both VIs (every one in their own module), I want to know how long does a tick last in LabVIEW standard (in the computer)?
Thanksvitrion wrote:
I have this doubt because I read that a tick lasts 55ms in the following source:
http://books.google.com.mx/books?id=en1GKs2huTcC&pg=PA33&dq=tick+count+(ms)+labview+55+milliseconds&...
My tick count provides me better results than the hardware results, which is impossible because this is the same algorithm. If I consider the 55ms time, then the FPGA is really faster.
Hardware Software with Software with
(ms) 1 ms Tick Count (ms) 55ms Tick Count (ms)
Algorithm 1 49.48 1.5552 84.535
Algorithm 2 0.8875 0.032 1.87
Algorithm 3 0.1756 0.0241 1.43
Algorithm 4 0.27 0.27 1.32
What's your opinion?
Thanks again
I think you are misunderstanding what the value of a "tick" is. From what I gathered from reading your link (which I couldn't get to from your post, but accidentally ran into on a search) a tick of the OS clock." Curiously, though - why 55ms? That was mentioned as the tick of a Win95/98 OS!
I guess you can say that the it returns the value of the next "tick" of the OS clock and returns that value in ms. So, the value of a tick varies from OS to OS. In Windows 95/98, for example, you can only look at the OS clock every 55ms or so, but it still returns a value that represents ms.
