How long does you iPad 3rd generation last?

I have a wifi only 32 gb ipad 3rd gen. I'm just wondering how long your ipad lasts until it reaches its 20% point or 10% or 0% point (in hours and minutes). If you can, I also want to know how you use the ipad, and how high your brightness level usually is. and about how many days you use it for until you have to charge it again (this is seperate to the how many hours it has). Thanks,

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • How long does an iPad 4th gen last for not battery I mean in Years

Hi .......ok so I got an iPad 4th Gen 16gb in New York last year (February 2013) and I was just wondering how long this will last, not in Battery life but in how long I can use it until it starts to get really slow and lagging and goes completely dead in years! I use my iPad regularly  maybe 4-5 hrs a day (average, sometimes more in a day and sometimes less) so can anyone help me how many years will I have my iPad before I will need a new one I keep my iPad in Great condition and no one uses bar me and I don't ever drop it or put anything illegal on it  so it is kept in great condition some people say that it depends on the size in GB on the iPad I have a 16GB white. Can anyone help me how long should I have my iPad for? Ohhh ya my iPad is running iOS 7.0.3 Thank You

No.  Once sn iOS version comes out that is not compatible with your hardware, you cannot, obviously, update iOS any longer.  However, your iPad running the last release of iOS compatible with it will continue to run that iOS release at the same speed it always did.
Nothing about any computer ever slows down with age - your cpu, RAM and storage all function at the same speed as they always did.  New software may add features that tax your system more than a newer system would be taxed, but nothing about your system changes just because the device ages.
At some point, our system simply is unable to update or run newer software because that newer or updated software requires hardware features that yours simply does not have.  But your exisiting software on your existing hardware will continue to run just as it always has.
As to when your system becomse unable to handle new software or iOS features, that is purely a matter of how quickly newer hardware comes out and how quickly software developers move to new features that your system cannot handle.
There is no inherent reason to believe that an iPad 4 will not be compatible with the next release of iOS - it might not be, but it may very well be.  Depends entirely on what changes the next release (whenever that may be) introduces, and what new device hardware Apple may be working on.

That listed 7 hours is with very limited use. Low screen brightness, low keyboard backlight, No WiFi or bluetooth.
Most I have ever gotten from my 15" 2011 model is around 5-6 hours and that was with very light use. Just Web, Chrome, and email, thunderbird, and Wifi.

how long does an iPad take to ship on average?

    Hello
Welcome to the EE Community! It's really difficult to say. As you made the order on Wedsnesday, and rang them on Thursday, where they said it was being processed, I imagine you'll receive it early next week. You should receive an e-mail from UK Mail the day before delivery, but other than that it'll be quite difficult to say exactly when it will be delivered. Keep an eye on your e-mails and you should hopefully be receiving your brand new S6 early next week... very jealous of you!  Cheers,

  • Why does my iPad 3rd Generation says Searching in upper left corner?

Why does my iPad 3rd Generation continually say Searching in upper left corner?

    1. iTunes 11 is for your computer, not for the iPad. You don't need to download iTunes for the iPad, it is already on the device.
    2. When you switched ID's on the iPad and then downloaded any past purchase, you associated the iPad with that ID and locked yourself out of your own ID for 90 days. You cannot change this now. You have to wait until the 90 days are up before you can switch to your ID again.
    3. AirPlay is a feature on the iPad that is only visible when you are using AirPlay compatible device with the iPad. When you double tap the home screen to get to the recents tray at the bottom of the screen, the AirPlay icon would be visible in there.

  • How long does a mac book pro last before needing an upgrade?

This will be my first ever first mac been using pc since year 2001 and mac being expensive and I was a kid I didn't have much choice but now I am 18 and I want a mac but the cheapest mac book pro I am not sure if I am getting a mac still but I might be more willing to.
    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Apple%26%23174%3B+-+MacBook+Pro%AE+-+13.3%22+Display +-+4GB+Memory+-+500GB+Hard+Drive/5430505.p?id=1218646127726&skuId=5430505
I don't like the macbook air because it looks weird from the side view. So how long does that macbook pro the one I posted last before needing an upgrading to the next gen mac laptop because if I need to upgrade ever 2 or 3 years I will not be buying because can't afford to upgrade every time, since I had my pick windows 7 OS pc since 2010 feb and my laptop Windows 7 OS since 2011 also my windows xp since 2001. The only apple thing I is Iphone 4s, used to own an iphone 4 and Ipod 3rd Gen 32GB.

Apple typically issues a newer OS X version every year now and one can usually upgrade all Mac's at least 2 times and the more powerful ones 3-4 timesif your lucky.
If you don't upgrade your denied security updates and new features in about 2 years afterwards of a new release. Also just because Apple says one can upgrade doesn't meant the machine will run as peachy and fast as on the older versions.
However if Apple switches processors like they did PPC to Intel, then upgrades to newer OS X versions isn't going to happen.
Third party software also requires upgrades, most are paid.
If you want more longevity between OS/software/hardware changes, then I suggest a Windows 7 tower as the parts are exchangeable/replaceable and upgradable, also Windows 7 will get security and support until 2020, that's 7 more years (and likely a bit longer if businesses demand it)
Being a Mac user usually requires a deeper pockets and a willingness to be more at the cutting edge, accepting of lots of change every year and buying hardware more frequently.
It's not for everyone, especially if your a 3D gamer, a Windows 7 tower is much better as it won't break so often, except form malware and System Restore Disks and Iamges built into Windows 7 will take care of that if you do it before using the machine.
For example, I have a 2011 Early 17" MacBook Pro, the last of it's kind that came with OS X 10.6, it's only 2 years old.
Now OS X is at 10.8 and I refuse to upgrade to it's poor interface, so I'm already being denied a more secure and upgraded Safari 6, so I switched to firefox.
That's life on Mac's, being denied and left behind.

  • How long does the average iPod touch last?

Not the battery, I mean the actuall iPod. How long does the average one last before it dies? How many hours?

Judging from this support site, the average iPod lasts until it falls into a toilet.
Each of my first, second, and third generation iPod Touch models are still working flawlessly. That's thousands of hours. Like Macs, they typically become functionally obsolete before any particular hardware failure ends their life.

  • How long does the restore form backup last?

I found in my user folder in windows my last backup before OS 3.0 upgrade. The size of backup is 2,4 GB. How long does the restore take? I left it last night, and after 6 hours it wasnt even 50 % done, so i had to cancel restoring.

Hello, I got exactly the same problem. I bought two iPod Nano 2 GB one for me and one for my wif and hers was just ok. Mine on the contrary got a message from itunes that was not possible to transfer the musics to my iPod because there was no space on disk. And this without using it. I installed the updater from january 2006, but when trying to connect and update it there's a huge delay and the iPod Nano screen continues with the Do not disconnect message. Then I tried to restore it but it's displaying the same message for more than two hours. I am going to shut the restore dialog box and then disconnect it from windows and try to see how it goes...
If you have any ideas please give me some help.
    Tks

  • How Long Does the iMac's Battery Last

Hi. How long will the iMac's battery last if you use it 8 hours (how about for 16 hours) a day and shut it down when you go to bed.
    Thank you in advance.
    Gbu.

As long as you leave the machine plugged into a live power source, even when it has been turned off it will still draw a bit of power to maintain PRAM and the clock chip, and will not use the battery.
The battery is used only when there is no othe source of power available. And, it is not recharged in the iMac.

  • Apple's iPad life How long does an iPad last in years?

Hi .......ok so I got an iPad 4th Gen 16gb in New York last year (February 2013) and I was just wondering how long this will last, not in Battery life but in how long I can use it until it starts to get really slow and lagging and goes completely dead in years! There is really nothing inside to break.   The originals are still running fine, as are many 10 yr old I pods.  As meg points out, at some point the flavor of programs that are developed need more muscle, you will find your pad not as powerful as the newer one are.  But in theory, it should do what it does now until your drop it or lose it.
You will have a battery issue at some point, but worry about it.   I ran a pad 1 and then a pad 2 pretty heavily for 2 full years and never had a battery issue at all.
I finally uped to the pad air- not because I needed to;  my trusty pad 2 did every thing I used it for.  I just wanted to future proof myself.
So use it to your full needs, and when you are ready, pass it along, or resell it, and upgrade yourself.
Your biggest challenge will be dealing with the 16 gig size.    Next time around ( in a year or two) get a larger size. :)

  • On average how long does your mac book battery last?

Mine runs about 1.75 hours on average while doing my best to conserve the battery. I would like to get an idea from other mac book owners how long their battery lasts, so I know if something is wrong with mine.
I know there are a number of factors that come in to play in terms of how long your battery will last. For instance, i know that if you have a lot of applications open, and if you have blue tooth device it will cause your computer to have to work harder and in essence will cause your battery to run out faster. It just seems like mine runs out real quick (1.75 hours). I have the check mark by "better energy savings" and close my applications as well.
I will also say that I did not calibrate my battery when i first got it being that this is my first laptop and i didnt know. I calibrated it about a month after i got it. However, prior to the calibration i had it hooked up directly from a power source all but one usage. Being that it took so long for me to calibrate my battery, is it permanently damaged?

A charge capacity of 4860, while being below average, is not a complete didaster and is not the cause of the 1.75 hour usage. Mosre than likely your failure to calibrate is the reason for it being below average. I does say to calibrate ASAP in the user manual that comes with your MacBook.
Now, to help with your battery time the things that affect the batery time the most are…
    1) Processor performance. Make sure your Energy Saver setting are set for maximum battery savings.
    2) High processor usage. The more you use you procossor the lower your battery times. So, you will get better battery performance when checking/writing e-mail and web surfing that you would encoding video. I often use a tool like MenuMeters…
    http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/17713
… to keep an eye on my processor usage.
    3) Screen brightness. This is a huge battery user and you should set this as low as is comfortable. High battery times require the screen to be set to minimum values. One spot (minimum) is the norm.
    4) Wireless networking. As this is always on it does chew up more battery that you would think. Turn it off when you don't need it. I actualy created a "no networking" profile in my Network System Preference for when I want to maximise battery performance and have no need of internet/networking.
    5) Bluetooth. This also consumes quite a bit of power for something that is not used much. Turn it off as much as you can when on battery.
