How long does your battery REALLY last?

I think my ipod is fit for the graveyard now... it's not being recognized by the computer. I've tried restoring and it'll work for about 5 minutes and then screw up again.
Anyways thinking I may need to get a new iPod. The only ipod's available with a big capacity are the the iPod videos. Apple's website advertises up to 14 hours of battery life. My friend who just got one says he gets a maximum of 4 hours and this is JUST listening to music.
Is this true? Cause if it is, I really don't think it is worth the money. My 4G iPod gets about 10 hours, I would hate to think the battery life has gotten worst as they've "upgraded" the iPods.
Please let me know how much battery life you typically get while listening to music.

If your friend gets a maximum of 4 hours, he is not JUST listening to music and if so, there is a problem with the battery.
Copied from About iPod Batteries.
Maximum Battery Life: iPod can play up to 20 hours, iPod nano can play up to 14 hours and iPod shuffle can play up to 12 hours on a full charge at original capacity. Apple runs a number of tests for battery life using songs encoded in various formats, including MP3, AAC and songs purchased from the iTunes Music Store. The songs are played continuously through a playlist without interruption, with backlight and equalizer off, using factory default settings.
Doing anything with an iPod besides listening to music continuously without interruption (which causes the hard drive to be accessed more often or constantly), without backlight and the iPod's equalizer off will cause the battery to drain faster.
Refer your friend to How to accurately determine your iPod battery life for instructions on running an iPod battery test.
If the test results in 4 hours of battery life and the iPod is still under warranty, he needs to send it in to Apple for a battery replacement.

  • How long does your battery take to charge?

this is only my second laptop and the battery on my first one went pretty quickly, so i dont really know long its supposed to take to charge
so... how long does it take, and how long does it take for the battery to drain

Im not sure how long exactly it takes to charge it. I would say about 2 hours maybe 3 at the most. I use mine plugged in ost of the time, so its not unplugged much. I get great battery life out of mine. I had it off AC for about 3 hours the other night and still had 40 mins left according to the battery monitor. This is with the brightness all the way up.

  • HT4623 Hi!My iPAD lost its charge fast !!I've got an iPAD capacity 57,1GB and it has available 55,1GB ,version 7.0.4 .I'd like to know how long does the battery last when it is 100 % charged.

Hi!I've just installed the iOS 7.0.4 operating system and the battery lost its charge at an incredibly speed.I'd like to know how long does the battery last if everything is right when it has 100% charge. Thanks!

I`m `propping` up this thread to to the top of the forums again as it`s been three months and not a single community member or Apple support personnel have replied, which I find discouraging.
I`ve tried everything - both the iOS device(s) and Apple TV have been upgraded (albeit reluctantly) to the latest versions, since iOS 7 looks like crap compared to iOS 6. Both use the same WiFi network. Bluetooth is set to `off`, as per the online tutorials on the Apple Support page.
I also tried shutting all of them down, including the router, waiting 30 seconds and turning the router, then the Apple TV then the iOS device on sequentially with 30 seconds in between each, again as per this discussion forum, and still nothing.
Why can Apple not make a technology, such as AirPlay, work with greater than 10%?
    Any other ideas?
    Come on, people.
    Thanks,
    Doug

    Until it dies.
That would depend entirely on what you do with it and how much you use it.

  • HT3209 how long does a rented movie last? and can i download it  in my pc, then to my ipad and then back to my pc?

how long does a rented movie last?
when i rent the movie in my pc, can i put it into my ipad and then back to my pc?

Yu can copy it to your iPad from your computer, but if you rent it directly on the iPad then you can't copy it off - from here :
If you download a rented movie on your computer: You can transfer it to a device such as your Apple TV (1st generation), iPhone, iPad, or iPod if it’s a standard-definition film (movies in HD can only be watched on your computer, iPad, iPhone 4 or later, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV). Once you move the movie from your computer to a device, the movie will disappear from your computer's iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period, but the movie can only exist on one device at a time.
If you download a rented movie on your iPhone 4 or later, iPad, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV: It is not transferable to any other device or computer.
From when you rent a movie you have 30 days in which to watch it, but once you start watching it you have 48 hours to finish watching it (24 hours in the US) - you can watch it as many times as like within those 48 (or 24) hours.

How long does your iphone take to charge when at various battery levels remaining?
When your iphone is at 10% battery remaining, how long does it take to charge?
When your iphone is at 20% battery remaining, how long does it take to charge?
When your iphone is at 50% battery remaining, how long does it take to charge?
(Assuming that you charge the phone when the phone is off using the Apple USB cable or dock through a wall power outlet)

    Usually 1 1/2 Hours tops.
When your iphone is at 20% battery remaining, how long does it take to charge?
    Around the Same
When your iphone is at 50% battery remaining, how long does it take to charge?
    Thirty Minutes.
I think if it is taking you 6 to 7 hours then something is wrong here. Either the battery is flawed, the cable or dock is flawed, or something is wrong with the outlet. It should not take that long.

  • How long does the full charge last?

How long does the battery last on a full charge

    Hi Jason,
The iPod nano (3rd Generation) has a battery life of 24 hours of music playback and 5 hours of video playback. This will deteriorate over time as the battery becomes consumed. Total charge time should be around 3 hours.

  • On average how long does your mac book battery last?

Mine runs about 1.75 hours on average while doing my best to conserve the battery. I would like to get an idea from other mac book owners how long their battery lasts, so I know if something is wrong with mine.
I know there are a number of factors that come in to play in terms of how long your battery will last. For instance, i know that if you have a lot of applications open, and if you have blue tooth device it will cause your computer to have to work harder and in essence will cause your battery to run out faster. It just seems like mine runs out real quick (1.75 hours). I have the check mark by "better energy savings" and close my applications as well.
I will also say that I did not calibrate my battery when i first got it being that this is my first laptop and i didnt know. I calibrated it about a month after i got it. However, prior to the calibration i had it hooked up directly from a power source all but one usage. Being that it took so long for me to calibrate my battery, is it permanently damaged?

A charge capacity of 4860, while being below average, is not a complete didaster and is not the cause of the 1.75 hour usage. Mosre than likely your failure to calibrate is the reason for it being below average. I does say to calibrate ASAP in the user manual that comes with your MacBook.
Now, to help with your battery time the things that affect the batery time the most are…
    1) Processor performance. Make sure your Energy Saver setting are set for maximum battery savings.
    2) High processor usage. The more you use you procossor the lower your battery times. So, you will get better battery performance when checking/writing e-mail and web surfing that you would encoding video. I often use a tool like MenuMeters…
    http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/17713
… to keep an eye on my processor usage.
    3) Screen brightness. This is a huge battery user and you should set this as low as is comfortable. High battery times require the screen to be set to minimum values. One spot (minimum) is the norm.
    4) Wireless networking. As this is always on it does chew up more battery that you would think. Turn it off when you don't need it. I actualy created a "no networking" profile in my Network System Preference for when I want to maximise battery performance and have no need of internet/networking.
    5) Bluetooth. This also consumes quite a bit of power for something that is not used much. Turn it off as much as you can when on battery.

  • How long do the battery's last til they die?

Just curious....what happens when it dies? Do I need a new iPhone or is there a repair?

That link said nothing except how to replace your battery through Apple.
Pretty much, Apple estimates that you have about 300-400 charge cycles before your battery drops to about 80%.
Now, let me explain that, that does NOT mean that once you charge 400 times, you will lose 20% of your battery. A charge cycle is a FULL charge and discharge. That means if you kill your battery and then FULLY charge your battery, that is a FULL CHARGE CYCLE.
So when your battery is at 80% and you charge it to full, you have not used up a full charge cycle. And just a reminder, on average, about once every 6 months, do kill the battery, then fully recharge it. This will recalibrate the firmware to your battery's percentage.

  • HELP-How Long Should a Battery Charge Last?

I just had a brand new battery installed in my 2009 MacBook Pro at the Genius Bar. I'm not sure it's holding a charge as long as it should as a new battery. The OS is Mavericks.
How long should a new battery hold a charge?
    Thanks

There is no Set Time any battery will last, Run time of the computer. It is Subjective on what you are doing on the computer minute by minute.
The battery should hold a charge for Months if it isn't used. But I take it that isn't your real question.
All batteries only last so long, whether they are ever used or not and how much or how little they are used. They also have a shelf life. So even though you bought a NEW battery doesn't mean that battery hasn't been sitting on a shelf for the last 4 years and in that time it has used up its Shelf Life.
If Apple replaced it you have a 90 day warranty on it. If you find it doesn't work as it did before take it back in and ask to have it checked.

  • How long does the free service last?

I am unclear as to how long my free CS Review account will be available? Can you clarify. Also, will my account be canceled afer a trial period and will my files all be deleted? It was hard to find this info in the documentation.
    Thanks for your help.

    Hey Kevin,
I work with Adobe and can help answer your questions for you. The complimentary subscription lasts for 12 months from the day you sign up, as long as you are registered before 4/30/2011. Regarding your second question...your files will be saved indefinitely and available to you even if your CS Live subscription lapses. All you need to do is login to www.acrobat.com to access them in your personal organizer that is available as part of the free account. You can also have full access to old reviews, including the ability to comment and share. Once the complimentary trial is over you can then register for a CS Live subscription which will give you the ability to continue creating new reviews and grant you access to the entire CS Review panel. I hope this helps out. If you have any more questions feel free to ask!

  • How long does the trial version last? What happens when it expires?

I currently have a trial version of Photoshop CC. I do not know how long the version lasts, nor do I know what my options are when it expires. I would appreciate your answering these questions. I probably didn't read the fine print!
    Judy P

Each time you open a trial version Adobe normally presents you with a countdown screen showing you precisely how many days of your trial are remaining with buttons asking you to sign up or buy the software.
Do you see that screen when you launch the trial version?

  • How long should the battery realistically last?

i bought a 13'' macbook pro about three weeks ago. the battery is supposed to last about 7 hours (depending on usage and the such) but i feel that it isnt lasting more than three, and thats with only web surfing. is there a solution to help it last longer? and i also tend to leave my laptop plugged in, sometimes for hours after its fully charged. is this a bad thing?

you can leave your macbook plugged in all the time if you wish.  it will not harm your battery since it will stop charging once it's fully charged.
once in a while however, do use your macbook under it's own power and plug it back in when it's down to 80% to keep the battery in optimal condition.
now, disable your automatic brightness.  turn off your bluetooth if you're not using it.  turn off yourr remote control receiver if you're not using a remote.
check your login items to see what's loading at startup and delete them if you don't need it.
see what's using up most of your cpu's resources in activity monitor - all processes.  highlight the ones using the highest % CPU and hit quit process.
see if the above tips give's you at least 5 hours of battery life.
if you feel that your battery isn't lasting long after you've done the above, you can always take it back to apple and have them check your battery or have it replaced since you're under warranty.
    good luck..

  • How long does trade in promotion last?

I have two each iPhone 4's, I will be sending in for the gift cards, as I ordered two new iPhone 6's.
How long is the 200.00 trade in promotion for? I figure it would be best to wait until I receive the new iPhones before I submit online my 4's for trade in?

        Dburne,
That would absolutely be best and we have everything set up to allow you to do it that way. You must start the process online here http://bit.ly/GGnDDC  before September 30, 2014 and then return your old iPhones before December 1, 2014 to qualify.
