How Long Does Your Synergy Profile Remain Active?

I had a Pre2 on VZW, and the set up was nice and smooth, no worries. Synergy set up was a breeze. Due to a variety of issues, I returned the device, but I plan on picking up a Pre3 (if it makes it to VZW) this summer, as well as a TouchPad.
Since it will have been several months since I utilized an HP/Palm device linking anything to the Synergy servers, will I still have a profile to log in to? Or will it be a "new" set up at that point?
I suppose it doesn't really matter, but I was curious...so I asked...

...though one of my fellow Mods suggested that if you can log into your profile at www.palm.com/profile it probably means it's still active.

I think if it is taking you 6 to 7 hours then something is wrong here. Either the battery is flawed, the cable or dock is flawed, or something is wrong with the outlet. It should not take that long.

How Long Does SSIS Data Profiling Task Take?

I have been doing all my data cleansing and conforming manually (was unaware of tools available to me). I am testing the SSIS Data Profiling Task on a table with 60,000 records. The Data Profiling Task has taken over an hour and is still
not finished.
My questions are these:
How long does it generally take for this task to run?
What drives execution time for this task?
What is this object doing behind the scenes?
Are there faster tools out there for data profiling?

It depends on how much data you have in table and how many profiles you have selected for inspection.
Behind scene, it uses TempDB to create temp tables and use it further for profiling.

this is only my second laptop and the battery on my first one went pretty quickly, so i dont really know long its supposed to take to charge

Im not sure how long exactly it takes to charge it. I would say about 2 hours maybe 3 at the most. I use mine plugged in ost of the time, so its not unplugged much. I get great battery life out of mine. I had it off AC for about 3 hours the other night and still had 40 mins left according to the battery monitor. This is with the brightness all the way up.

i did a purchase of a game on my ipod and entered my password in to purchase it and then passed my ipod to my daughter and then she has gone into another game and purchased some things without entering my password so obviously when you enter your password for a purchase it stays active for a while so you dont have to re enter your password , but for how long?

On average how long does your mac book battery last?

Mine runs about 1.75 hours on average while doing my best to conserve the battery. I would like to get an idea from other mac book owners how long their battery lasts, so I know if something is wrong with mine.
I know there are a number of factors that come in to play in terms of how long your battery will last. For instance, i know that if you have a lot of applications open, and if you have blue tooth device it will cause your computer to have to work harder and in essence will cause your battery to run out faster. It just seems like mine runs out real quick (1.75 hours). I have the check mark by "better energy savings" and close my applications as well.
I will also say that I did not calibrate my battery when i first got it being that this is my first laptop and i didnt know. I calibrated it about a month after i got it. However, prior to the calibration i had it hooked up directly from a power source all but one usage. Being that it took so long for me to calibrate my battery, is it permanently damaged?

A charge capacity of 4860, while being below average, is not a complete didaster and is not the cause of the 1.75 hour usage. Mosre than likely your failure to calibrate is the reason for it being below average. I does say to calibrate ASAP in the user manual that comes with your MacBook.
Now, to help with your battery time the things that affect the batery time the most are…
1) Processor performance. Make sure your Energy Saver setting are set for maximum battery savings.
2) High processor usage. The more you use you procossor the lower your battery times. So, you will get better battery performance when checking/writing e-mail and web surfing that you would encoding video. I often use a tool like MenuMeters…

3) Screen brightness. This is a huge battery user and you should set this as low as is comfortable. High battery times require the screen to be set to minimum values. One spot (minimum) is the norm.
4) Wireless networking. As this is always on it does chew up more battery that you would think. Turn it off when you don't need it. I actualy created a "no networking" profile in my Network System Preference for when I want to maximise battery performance and have no need of internet/networking.
5) Bluetooth. This also consumes quite a bit of power for something that is not used much. Turn it off as much as you can when on battery.

How long does your battery REALLY last?

I think my ipod is fit for the graveyard now... it's not being recognized by the computer. I've tried restoring and it'll work for about 5 minutes and then screw up again.
Anyways thinking I may need to get a new iPod. The only ipod's available with a big capacity are the the iPod videos. Apple's website advertises up to 14 hours of battery life. My friend who just got one says he gets a maximum of 4 hours and this is JUST listening to music.
Is this true? Cause if it is, I really don't think it is worth the money. My 4G iPod gets about 10 hours, I would hate to think the battery life has gotten worst as they've "upgraded" the iPods.
Please let me know how much battery life you typically get while listening to music.

If your friend gets a maximum of 4 hours, he is not JUST listening to music and if so, there is a problem with the battery.

Refer your friend to How to accurately determine your iPod battery life for instructions on running an iPod battery test.
If the test results in 4 hours of battery life and the iPod is still under warranty, he needs to send it in to Apple for a battery replacement.

How long does your G530 take to boot up?

My G530 with XP Pro takes about 90 seconds to boot up. Feels a bit too long to me. What are your boot up times like?

I'm assuming it's the problem that you have a black screen for roughly 90 seconds. You might want to try this bios here

I downloaded SYSTEM UTL DASHBOARD(app store)
look at the instructions at battery
then I closed all apps and reboot
then opened app SYSTEM UTL DASHBOARD, at battery settings turn ON ALARM WHEN FULL CHARGE
turn on airplane mode until full charge( I used to charge my phone in this way at night when I go to sleep)
In my iphone I had differences with my battery life hope it will help u to,o)

How long does your PT880/computer take to "POST"?

Just curious about this one.
I'm noticing that my computer takes almost a full minute before I'm hearing the first "beep"--before the startup process begins. After that, the 2.8c pentium on the PT880 board actually loads very quickly. But before that it just seems to sit idle (although there's no doubt more than that is actually going on).
Just wondering if others' systems are running similarly. I don't recall ever having a system that took so long before the first "beep" before.

It takes my 20 secs to hit the desktop......try http://www.tweaktown.com ....choose guides....and at the bottom of the list are 2 verydetailed packed guides on a ton of XP tweaks....faster booting...is one.....the other thing that I have found on several pcs is that if u Have a HP device with its drivers installed in XP that for some reason it can slow ur boot-up down drasticly...( i have a HP scanner on my 2nd pc and the boot would hang for for aleast 45 secs longer...so I just unplugged the usb from the scanner and bam problem sloved....just have to plug it in when it gets used .....)

I have a feeling this has to do with particular apps and then the amount of info on your phone. For instance Syncing/backing up can take FOREVER if you have AppSniper but don't clear the cache. SO its probably something similar. Like if you were to delete all the apps from your old phone and sync with yoru computer... I bet its a lot faster. You could then just put each app you use through itunes.

What is the message that you are getting when you try to use the account ? If it's disabled then it will remain disabled until you get it re-enabled ; if it's locked then it will depend upon why it's locked as to whether Apple will unlock it when you contact them.
If it's disabled then depending upon the reason you might be able to re-enable it via this page : http://appleid.apple.com, then 'reset your password'
You might then need to log out of your account on any iOS devices that you have by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store (Settings > Store on iOS 5 and below) and then log back in so as to 'refresh' the account on them.

POLL: How long does it take your Translator Widget to translate?

My translator widget keeps bugging out on me. I can't figure out if it's a localized issue, or something remote (on Systran's end).
How long does your translator widget take to translate something?
Under a clean install, the translator widget works almost instantly as I type, and when I click the switch button it instantly switches the lanugages and their text around.
After only a short time, the widget starts to get pissy, and takes about 15 seconds after I've typed something and pressed the switch button to output anything.
What is everyone else dealing with?

I frankly suspect this has a lot more to do with the performance of the servers SysTran is devoting to users of the Translation widget than a problem with the widget itself. SysTran may also be looking at the incoming IP address and if you're sending multiple requests, your priority may go down as your number of requests increases.
