  • How long has a Mac been running?

    Hi,
    I was just wondering if there is a quick way to figure out how many hours that your mac has been on. I know that S.M.A.R.T. records how many hours are on your HDD, but is there any easy way to access that info? TechTool used to gather that info off the PRAM battery of my old PB 5300 years ago...
    Thanks in advance!

    Open up a Terminal window and write the command uptime and there you go. But it resets everytime you shut down your computer. I don't know how to find the total of uptimes.
    Cheers...

  • How Long has FCE 4 Been out?

    I am wondering how long FCE HD has been around. More to the point when would we expect to see an update to FCE? I am getting ready to pull the trigger on buying this app but got burnt with Toast 9. Bought it on Friday and version 10 came out the following Monday. I realize no one here has inside info, but based on past history does anyone expect some sort of update in the near term?

    As Tom says, we are not allowed to speculate on future software, without getting angry emails from Apple telling us we have violated the terms of use of the forum. Historically, a new version of FCE has only come out at least several months after the new version of Final Cut Studio. Until another version of FCP is introduced, it is safe to assume that there will not be another version of FCE out there.

  • How long has my macbook been asleep?

    I was wondering if there was a graph, or some kind of log kept on the macbook pro that tells me the awake time and sleep time of my computer for the past... however long. I know I can open terminal and type "uptime" and get to see how long it has been since my last shut-down, but I want to know specifically for how long my macbook slept during its last sleep. Is there a way to do this? Thanks for the help!

  • How long has your app been IN REVIEW?

    I must say I'm disappointed in the turnaround time between my uploading an app update and it being reviewed and posted to the iTunes app store.
    I uploaded a new version of my app 4 days ago, and am still opening iTunes Connect only to see it is still "In Review"
    How long have you guys had to wait to have an app reviewed and posted?
    What is really frustrating is that my game had some misspellings, small stuff that I have fixed in an update, and I am getting hammered in my customer reviews over things that I have fixed already and uploaded 4 days ago!!

    If you search this forum you will find from the large number of similar questions that reviews seem to average about a week though some have seen quicker and some have seen much longer.
    Everyone wants their app updated immediately. This is, of course, understandable. At the same time some people complain about the junk apps that get approved. It can't work both ways. Apple is getting slammed with new apps and updated apps. It takes time to do even a cursory glance at each and every one to ensure it at least meets some minimum standards.
    You can update your app description with some nice comment at the top about your pending new release and what fixes/changes are coming. These updates seem to show up in iTunes in less than a day. That may help a bit.
    Of course the best solution is to test your app better to avoid putting out buggy versions. I know this is hard if you are like me - one person trying to get an app out. I don't do QA for a living for a reason
    I posted a new app two days ago. It's killing me to wait a week for it to appear but it's a fact of life right now. Someone, not living in the Internet age, said that patience is a virtue.

  • How long has the current SPID/Agent Job been running

    I have a SQL Agent Job that has 15 steps. Each step executes the same CLEANUP sproc against a database. STEP1 executes CLEANUP against DB1, STEP2 executes CLEANUP against DB2, etc. These 15 databases all have the exact same schema (that was the design
    decision - not going to change).  The job can run for days. I want to have a MAXMINUTESTORUN configuration (probably set to 4 hours) that the sprocs will check and when that is exceeded the sprocs will nicely terminate and then pick up  again
    the next time. I want to be able to ask in the sproc, how long has the spid/agent job been running. How is the best way to do this?

    Well, the idea for that,
    the clean up always runs first on the database it never before and then it will run against the database that has oldest 'Lastrun". you can change this logic if you need.
    Using the demo scripts above, try this ...after the scheduling the job.
    1. run the job once..it will run the procedure for testA
    2.check the output of select * from msdb.dbo.cleanupjob
    3. run the job again..it will run the procedure for testB(the reason it picks this is because the cleanup procedure never ran for database testb)
    4.check the output of select * from msdb.dbo.cleanupjob
    5. run the job again..it will run the procedure for testA(the reason it picks this is because the cleanup procedure ran for database testb atleast once and
    will the pick the  oldest "last run " database)
    6.check the output of select * from msdb.dbo.cleanupjob
    you can also ,,replace this block
    select top 1 @a= databasename from
    (select top 1 1 source,databasename from cleanupjob
    where (lastrun is null)
    union
    select top 1 2 source,databasename from cleanupjob
    where (lastrun in (select min(lastrun) from cleanupjob where lastrun is not null))
    order by source) A
    with
    select top 1 @a=databasename from msdb.dbo.cleanupjob where isnull(lastrun,'19000101') in (select min(isnull(lastrun,'19000101')) from msdb.dbo.cleanupjob)
    order by id
    Hope it Helps!!

  • IPod (15 GB dock connector) 2003-04 how long it is supposed to run?

    iPod (15 GB dock connector) 2003-04 touch wheel 15 GB
    Can't seem to find any specs on how long it is supposed to run.
    Perhaps using the iPod in cold weather makes it drain faster?
    Tried repairing this iPod by using Disk Mode.
    I've been running the iPod indoors for over one hour now and it is at 75% charged. Still think that there is a problem in that when I turn the iPod off and place it in hold mode, when I slide the hold mode back off the iPod is fully booted up, which means that it never really turned off. At best it runs one hour outdoors in the cold. My question, how long it is supposed to run.?

    It's really hard to say how long a five or six year old battery should run. However, using any Li-Ion battery in the cold will adversely affect playing time. Remember also, that as the battery ages, its capacity decreases. If this is the original battery, I'd say you've gotten your money's worth.
    You may get an answer about your iPod's original playing time if you post your query in the forum for older iPods Here

  • Repair for Phone - How long has it taken other people?

    Hello, Everyone!
    I am just seeing how long it has taken everyone else's repairs to take place on their phones? They've had mine for way longer than a month (was promised a turnaround time of 1 week)...and they said that I would be getting a replacement phone...but that they haven't sent it out and don't have a tracking number for me. I don't know how many weeks they've been saying this...but, the reasoning is supposedly that they're upgrading their support system. I know that if my company tried telling people that for as long as they've been telling me that...we'd have a rebellion on our hands.
    Well..in the meantime my Motorola Q is growing on me more and more. I thought that I wanted a Palm Treo...so, I upgraded early from my Motorola Q early...but, with this type of service...I doubt I'll ever buy a Palm, again. I'll let all my friends and family know that...along with all of my Twitter, Facebook, and Blog buddies...unless if they can figure out how to be a customer-oriented company and get me my phone that I paid big money for...and can't use.
    So, how long has it taken for your repair?
    Post relates to: Treo 800w (Sprint)

    I have the same issue.
    Sent it in twice for repairs and it was sorted quickly both times but as it still did not function properly I emailed support and was told to get it replaced.
    Sent it in for the third time, to get the replacement and according to the SRO its been at Palm since 16th of april.
    Ive emailed support about this twice and both times been told they can't do anything about it.
    I then called and was told that it would be escalated but that they couldnt give me a time frame.
    If they can test, repair and ship out a faulty unit within a working day how come they can't ship out a replacement in 3 weeks time?

  • Configure how long a automatic activity  can run before timeout

    I have a long running job in this step. Can I configure how long that automatic activity can run before it will time out. How do I configure this when running in the BPM Studio and when deploy the apps to the server?
    Alternatively, I was try to use a SecureShell to run a unix job with nohup but somehow it doesn't execute properly and the shell would exit out but the script would not run. When I run the same nohup command line in the external host, it does run properly. Is there any special way to call nohup through SecureShell.
    Thanks,
    Wing

    You can define the timeout of the BP-Methods that is actually the value that should be used for the method in your automatic activities. This is configured into the Engine preferences and it's the Maximum BP-Methods+ Timeout parameter, both for the studio and the enterprise.
    Remember to handle the timeout exception when using this parameter. If not correctly handled, your process will abort.

  • How long has your Zen Micro been in working conditi

    Just another question... how long have you guys had your Zen Micro's without problems, or without any disfunctioning (dont think thi is the right word but w.e) problems. I am hearing all of these bad things about the Micro and i've only had it for week, im worried about my Micro's fate.

    don't worry about it. your micro will do just fine. Mines has been workin' flawlessly since i got it 5 months ago.
    You have to remember, these forums are like an emergence room for mp3 players. All you will hear here is negati've stuff.

  • How long has the lines issue been around?

    Just curious. I just got my new powerbook and I am fairly upset at the presence of these lines. Is this something that apple has known about for months or is this a new issue all together? Basically, i just want to know how long everyone has been waiting for an announcment on this issue.

    Well, a more precise answer is :
    PB15"HiRes release : Oct. 19th
    First post on horizontal lines : Oct 25th.

  • How Long Has Apple Been Taking Lately To Support Popular Canon Profiles?

    I can't remember how long the wait was for the 50D or 5DMkII. I'm trying to get a rough idea about how long it may take to support the new 7D.
    Thanks!
    Mark

    5d2 was pretty fast, within two weeks of ship date in the U.S. If I remember correctly, I got my 5d2 the week of thanksgiving and the update came out around December 10. I think it came out before ACR updated even.

  • Calculate how long a function takes to run

    I would like to know how to find out how long the function will take to run
    public int[][] MatrixMultiplication(int[][] MatrixA, boolean[][] MatrixB) {
            int result[][] = new int[number_positions + 2][number_positions + 2];
            int temp = 0;
            for (int j = 0; j < number_positions + 2; j++) {
                for (int i = 0; i < number_positions + 2; i++) {
                    for (int k = 0; k < number_positions + 2; k++) {
                        temp = (MatrixB[j][k])? 1 : 0;
                        //result[i][k] += MatrixA[i][j] * MatrixB[j][k];
                        result[i][k] += MatrixA[i][j] * temp;
            return result;
        }

    gamewell wrote:
    I would like to know how to find out how long the function will take to runNote that you need to repeat the multiplication N times and clock that. Select N so the total time is at least 1 second. Then you divide the total time with N to get the average time per call.
    public int[][] MatrixMultiplication(int[][] MatrixA, boolean[][] MatrixB) {
    int result[][] = new int[number_positions + 2][number_positions + 2];
    int temp = 0;
    for (int j = 0; j < number_positions + 2; j++) {
    for (int i = 0; i < number_positions + 2; i++) {
    for (int k = 0; k < number_positions + 2; k++) {
    temp = (MatrixB[j][k])? 1 : 0;
    //result[i][k] += MatrixA[i][j] * MatrixB[j][k];
    result[i][k] += MatrixA[i][j] * temp;
    return result;
    }If you care about efficiency you should remove invariants from the innermost loop. As you can see i and j don't change and because array accesses are expensive they should be removed. Also why perform the multiplication with 0 when you know it will have no effect? It's better to avoid that case.
    // innermost loop
    boolean[] mb = MatrixB[j];
    int[] res = result;
    int m = MatrixA[i][j];
    for (int k = 0; k < number_positions + 2; k++) {
    if (mb[k])
    res[k] += m;
    Now everything that's constant has been removed and only what depends on k is left. With very few iterations in the innermost loop this may not pay off but it's worth a try.

  • How long should Aperture take to run a consistancy Check. (15,000 items)

    Running on a mac pro for reference
    It seems to have stopped at "running VACUUM on database". No movement for 30 mins.
    Does this procedure take a long times
    Thanks

    I also would like to know as I have a aperture file of about 35000 items and running on an iMac, it has been running for days with the progress bar about 3/4 complete but no longer seems to be moving. The Activity Monitor shows it taking up CPU time and performing context switches and Mach Messages Out, Mach System Calls, and Unix System Calls. But it is also only using about 0.8% of the CPU.
