I have bought an Ipad2 and I was wondering if the first time charge will be "different". thanks

You don't need to charge an iPad when you first get it. You can charge at any time.

Charge as long as you want. If the battery indicator have a plug image then it's full otherwise you see a lightning image. Apple advices to discharge (use it till it's empty) once a month to prolong battery life.

When using my new US ipad for the first time my computer switched it to an Australian format (where we used to live) How do I set the default to all US settings on all of my iproducts? I set them individually but when they sync with my comp they b/c AU

When syncing my iPad for the first time to my iTunes (which was in Australia at one time but no longer) my iPad defaulted to the Australian format for phone numbers and each contact listed was now an Australian address. My iTunes is set to the USA. How/Where do I change the setting? It also changes the default to Australia on each of my iTouches and iPhones.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

How to charge iphone 5s for the first time?

Hello! I'm picking up my new iphone 5s tomorrow from the shop and I'm wondering how I'm supposed to charge it the first time.
I REALLY don't want to ruin the battery life on my phone considering my iphone 5's battery right now is just terrible. It dies in around 2 hours
So when i take it out of the box and turn it on, should I use all the battery on it right then and set everything up? Or am i supposed to charge it for 8 hours or whatever?

When you take the new iPhone out of the box, assuming you have to activate and setup, plug it in so you do all of the work with a solid power source. See what the charge level is, and if over 50% don't worry about charging when you are finised with the setup unless you feel like letting it sit and top-up the battery.
You cannot over-charge as the unit has a protection circuit that shuts down the charging when the battery hits 100%. The battery will trickle down even sitting, and when it gets down to 93-95% charge level, the charging circuit starts up and charges the battery back to 100%.
While some say to drain the battery all the way regularly, that actually is not good for a Lithium-Ion battery...studies show a battery drained to 50% and recharged will have three to four times the life of a battery drained all the way to shutdown regularly.
And keep in mind, batteries are expendable items and will degrade over time with usage.

I have an iPod Touch (3G) that I use to Sync with iTunes on a Win 7 laptop.
A few weeks ago I got a new iPad (32Gb) that I've downloaded many apps onto but nothing so far from iTunes.
I was about to update to iOS 7 but wanted to create a backup before I started.
I hadn't connected the ipad to the laptop until now but when I do I'm asked if I want to:
Set up as a new iPad
Restore form this backup -> iPod
I don’t want to de either!
There is no option to Transfer Purchases under Devices/ iPad as other suggestions state. (only for the iPod)
If go ahead and set up as a new ipad do I lose the Apps I've already bought and have to pay for again!

It doesn't matter. You can start using the phone right away as long as it has charge on it. Lithium ion batteries have no requirements to be charged completlely or drained completely. You can also leave the device on the charger even after it has reached full charge.
