How long should you charge your new iPhone before using?

How long should I charge my phone before using?

There is no required charging time. Use it and charge it when its convenient.
You should however not let it drop below 20% charge too often.  Once a month is suggested to re-calibrate the battery meter.
Other than that charge and use as you like.

  • How long should I charge the New iPad battery ??

    Hi,
    Can someone tell me :
How long should I charge the New iPad battery ??
i dont know, and i cant find this on the apple page.
i know that with the iPod Touch Five and Four Generation, the charge its only 2-4 hours but on the iPad how long is the charge?
    im really miss it!
    Can someone help me ?
    Thanks!!

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • How long should you leave your iPad 2 on for it's first charge

how long you your iPad be on for it's first charge

You don't have to charge it up to 100% on the first or every charge, nor run it down to empty everytime before you re-charge it. This page just recommends going through at least one charge cycle per month :
For proper reporting of the battery’s state of charge, be sure to go through at least one charge cycle per month (charging the battery to 100% and then completely running it down).

  • HT3053 How long should I charged new battery in MacBook pro?

How long should I charged new battery in MacBook pro?

You can leave it plugged in all the time if you wish.
Once your Macbook is fully charged, it stops charging.
You can see this if you click on your apple logo, about this mac, more info, system report, power.
In any event, it is also a good idea to use your Macbook under it's own power to keep the battery in optimal condition.
As much as possible, try not to fully discharge your battery.  It could do more harm than good to your Macbook.
Good luck and enjoy your macbook

  • How long should you use the Macbook is the fan is at Max?

Hey all, the reason i ask is because sometimes when i visit a site with embedded video the CPU rises and heats up so the fan goes up to max. How long should you keep there with out damaging anything? Sometimes the videos are 45 mins, there tv shows and by 5th min is heated up and i dont want to keep it running for the rest of the 45 mins and wreck somthing. Whats the max time for that?

Not really an answer but I was wondering where your computer is located or how you are using it? My kids were putting a quilted blanket on their lap and then running their notebook on top of the blanket. The blanket had a terrible insulating affect on the computer. And to make matters worse, sometimes the blanket would block the fan exhaust! I had to scold them and teach them to put something else on the blanket over their lap, like a book, and then put the notebook on the book. That really stopped the fan from running a lot.
It's just something to be aware of. The MB will run cooler if there is space all around it.

How often should you shut your phone off?  I always heard they were like computers and shouldn't be shut off very often but I wasn't sure.

    never

  • How long should the installation of new software for iphone take.  Mine has been downloading now for over 3 hours.  I don't want to disconnect and lose my data.

How long should it take to update an I 4 phone to the new system.  Mine has been going for 3.5 hours and is not finished, but I don't want to disconnect and lose my data.

Mine took about an hour or so but it mostly depends on your modem and processor speeds. You can check the progress by clicking your iphone on the left and then checking the download progress. As long as that is moving I would just leave it and wait but don't let your computer shut down.

  • How long should the charge last on my ipod touch?

My new touch showed that it was fully charged this morning, but the battery ran out about 7:00 this evening. I used wifi for a short time today (about 10 minutes), added a few items to my calendar and contacts, and that's about it! FYI, I use an Apple power charger (not the USB charger on my mac), and I charged it overnight. Thank you.

    # Top up the charge frequently! Charge your device often to prevent rapid erosion of the Lithium-ion battery's capacity. Never let your battery run down to zero. Your battery will fast charge for 1.5 to 2 hours to reach 80% charge and then 'top-up' charge for 2 to 4 hours more to reach 100%, so try to charge a weak battery for at least 2 hours. Lithium-ion batteries lose capacity as soon as they are manufactured but a properly maintained battery is designed to retain an average 80% of its capacity after between 400 to 500 charge cycles.
    # Leaving On Charge You can leave your device on charge for as long as you want. There is a protective mechanism in all Lithium-Ion batteries that prevents 'overcharge'. i.e. don't worry about those long overnight charges.
    # Recalibrate Your Battery Meter - If you charge your device regularly and also use the 'Numerical Battery' you may want to consider running down the battery once per month followed by a full charge. The battery meter tracking the battery's capacity will lose accuracy over time and this full discharge will recalibrate it. If you use the stock Apple battery icon then there's probably no need for such accuracy unless you start to get strange readings.
    # Keep your iPod Touch cool! Lithium-ion battery capacity rapidly decays if exposed to high temperatures. Don't leave your device in the car. Maximum operating temperature suggested is 35° C (95° F). Don't charge when hot as this can further damage the battery's capacity. Remove any cover/skin when charging to help prevent overheating.
    # Maintenance in storage - If your don't use your device regularly, make sure you complete one full charge cycle per month to slow battery degredation. This can be staggered, e.g. use 50% of battery, charge full and then use 50% again. When not in use store your device below 45° C (113° F) to prevent heat damage to the battery's capacity. Store your device with a partial (~40% best) charge.
    # Stay updated - new firmware and software updates often include more battery-efficient code so update and keep current if you can.
    # Manage Your Apps - conserve your current battery charge by turning off 3G, WiFi, Edge, SSH and/or Bluetooth when not in use. Other functions such as GPS & Push Email will also cause the battery to drain faster. Turn off the WiFi function 'Ask to Join Networks' as this can leech the battery. Update email manually. Use 'Airplane Mode' in areas of low coverage to prevent continuous scanning draining the battery. Turn off 'Location Services' in Settings when not in use. Hold the home button for 5 seconds to kill any applications running in the background.
    # Equalizer - turn the EQ off if you don't need it.
    # Backlight - Turn the brightness down as low as possible (~10-25% is good) and enable 'Auto Brightness'.
    # Screen Lock - Use a short 'Auto Lock' time. Turn the screen off whenever it's not in use by a quick press of the power button.

  • How often do you charge your battery?

Do you charge your battery whenever it's at home, or only when it's running low? And does either method affect porfmorance?

1 - I turn Airplane Mode on when I'm in my office. If I don't the battery is dead before I get to use it at all. Cellphones and iPhones do a constant re-ping that drains the power.
2 - I have an A/C adapter in my backpack and I plug it in the cafeteria to recharge the battery while watching a tv show or surf the web.

how do I add custom ringtones on new iPhone 5, using iTunes 11.04 and Mac OS 10.7.5?

Are you meaning rintones that you create from existing files?
If so - then Google and you will get lots of hits on 'how to'.
Once you have the ringtones in your iTunes library then make sure in iTunes prefs>General tab - the Tones option is selected. Once your device shows in the Devices list make sure you select from the Tones tab in the Devices window the tones you want to d/l.

  • How long should I charge my ipad for the first time?

I have bought an Ipad2 and I was wondering if the first time charge will be "different". thanks

You don't need to charge an iPad when you first get it. You can charge at any time.
