How long until a newer version of flash player is released?

Adobe sure could use to fix this broken version that is out now.
How long will we have to wait for an update?

Does anybody know if this is being worked on?
Not being able to view flash in a website is a major problem since so many website authors have chosen to include it in their sites. Personally I don't like flash but I have to deal with it so I need it on the iPhone to make it useful for browsing.

  • How to avoid installing newer version of flash player

    Hey,
After installing the newer version of flash player it caused troubles to me, and I don't see any way but to install an older version of Flash Player, however after I have installed it the game forces me to Install the newest version of Flash Player, otherwise it cannot run. So here is my question. How can I use an older version of Flash Player I had before without installing the newer version of it?
    - Dan

Hi, You can go to this test site to see if you have Flash Player Installed on your 10.6.5 Mac.
    http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
Then this link has info on how to Uninstall Flash Player (if needed) and Install the latest version. It is a step by step.
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/865/cpsid_86551.html
After reading that info and you just need to Install, then this link would be easier:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html
Flash Player is a browser plugin and as long as your browser is supported by Adobe Flash Player, then you shouldn't have any problem.
    Hope that helps,

  • How do i download a newer version of Flash player.  I have tried 10 times, it says complete..however

How do I download a new version of flash player.  I have tried 10 times, each time it says complete.  However when I need it on a site, it says I don't have it????????   Thank you

    Hello,
I have a similar problem than sam6sam had except that I'm on Safari. After the Mountain Lion security update I did last Friday, I had to update Flash. I installed .149, deinstalled, restarted, reinstalled .149 about 2 dozens times and it didn't work. Yesterday I saw that you had .167 and thought "finally they will have fixed this issue". After doing the same deinstall restart and install routine another dozen time, I give up!
I've followed all the instructions on this page:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-mac.html
    and this page:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/5067997#5067997
    and this page:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html
    and still nothing.
It looks like it's installed. When I go into System Preference Flash Player shows "Plug-in version 11.6.602.167 is installed.", yet when I want to see a flash video it tells me that I don't have the software and need to install it. My Safari Preferences allow for Pop-up and Enable Plug-in. My "open 'safe' files after downloading" is clicked.
I've search all of Adobe, Apple and other geeky website's "help" area, and nothing I tried worked, including the "sudo" commands in the terminal (the answer to this one is "command not found").
I'm really frustrated by this. There is certainly something that I overlooked, but I cannot figure it out. Help!

  • Should I recompile my swf at every new version of flash player ?

should I recompile my swf at every new version of flash player to benefit of any new optimization bugs and new features ? I saw that the version of flash player will increase every 3 months.
is CC is able to offer publish settings with every 3 months new version ?
    thanks

Its simple: any advanced feature that would improve the performance has to be adressed by the code you write to be useful.
So say in Flash 12 Adobe Introduces Stage4D, simply publishing your existing Flash 11 work that uses Stage3D will not use the Stage4D Features present in Flash 12,
you would have very likely to rewrite some of your code to profit from the benefits.
So recompiling on its own, will do nothing useful for you.

  • Is the new version of Flash player compatible with FF 3.6.17?

I updated to the new version of Flash - 10.3.181.26 - because of some sort of problem with the old version. Now FF does not recognize Flash as being installed. I have both versions in .mozilla/plugins. I use .new and .old as the extension for the one I am not using. Version 10.3.d162 works when it is .so. 10.3.181 does not.

There are a number of active threads concerning the latest Flash player plugin (11.3) and the latest Firefox (13). Not all users are experiencing the same issues, but things to check include the following:
    - Conflict with Realplayer Browser Record plugin (to disable this, open Add-ons from the orange Firefox button or the classic Tools menu and look under the Extensions and Plugins categories)
    - Conflict with Flash 11.3 Protected Mode (see [http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1018071?tstart=0 Adobe Forums: How do I disable Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?])
Scanning down the front of the forums probably will yield additional suggestions: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions
Please post back with your results.

  • I have  a newer version of flash player installed then what is listed as the most recent version??

    Hello,
I am checking the version i have installed of flash player via the adobe version check option at the site and i have version 11.8.800.94 and when i check the list of the latest versions of Adobe, i see 11.7.700.169 listed as being the latest vversion. How can i have a version installed that's above that? I haven't installed a beta version, never signed up for beta testing and all i did was install the latest version of flash player via the website.
I am wondering what this is cause recently when viewing videos on youtube, my videos tend to hang up or end halfway through and think the video ended when it's not. My guess now is that i have sumhow obtained a version of flash player that's not correct and thus why the videos go haywire now. Re-installing flash player sets it back to the 11.8 version again, so that didn't work.
Any information any1 might have that can solve this is much appreciated.

11.8.800.94 is the latest version for Windows and Mac. 11.8.800.115 is the latest beta version. http://helpx.adobe.com/en/flash-player/release-note/fp_118_air_38_release_notes.html

  • The new versions of Flash Player for Android are still not in the Archive page!

I feel like something is missing in the Flash Player Archive page.  Yesterday, I read that the new Flash Player version for Android 2.x/3.x is now version 11.1.111.73, and that the new Flash Player version for Android 4.x is now 11.1.115.81, but instead, all I see are previous versions of Flash Player for Android 4.x, 3.x, and 2.x!  When will the newest Flash Player versions for Android be available to the archive page?  Here's a link for the Archive Page:  http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html

Ok, we're fixing it and it should be resolved by tomorrow.  Please let me know if you can't find it by tomorrow evening.
Thanks again for letting us know!

  • Their is a newer version of Flash Player already installed

Flash Player automatically updates.  Today I tried to use Facebook to upload some photos.  Facebook gave me a warning that said I needed the latest update to Flash Player.  I went to the Adobe website to try to update the Adobe Flash Player.  When I try to run the installer, it gets as far as "Installing" and then stops saying Note: Newer version already installed.  The Troubleshooting page on the Flash Player support site says I have Flash Player 14.0.0.101 and the newest version is 13.0.0.  I have not manually installed or updated anything, except for trying to install the update after receiving the original error messages.

This means you have a beta version of Flash Player installed.  Uninstall it with http://labsdownload.adobe.com/pub/labs/flashruntimes/flashplayer/flashplayer14_uninstall_m ac.dmg
then download and install the release version http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/mac/install_flash_playe r_13_osx.dmg

I've tried setting the flash properties to transparent and that hasn't helped. I'm really stumped here.
    Many thanks in advance.

Thank you! I finally figured it out a solution!! I saved the swf as a flash 10.1 document rather than the pre-set 10.2 and am happy to report that it worked. I've been able to view it on an imac and a windows device but it still doesn't work on an ipad. The only solution I can think of for this is to have a link at the top of my page that says " ipad and i phone users click here" --- and the link would be www.mysite.com/idevice"
where there would be an exact replica of my page minus the annimated banner OR with a version that would be viewable on an I pad/phone.

I used to get Flash player plugin crashed but my Firefox never crashed, and that problem was easily resolved by just refreshing that page. But now my Firefox crashes and i have to restart it. which is really frustrating.
I have tried FF3, FF5 beta and the older version of flash player (10,2,159,1) and now i am used this old version but my firefox is still crashing regularly.

And it happens alot in Facebook.

  • Can't get new version of Flash Player to work.

Both the NY Times and Slate sites (this is today, though this started with the Times two days ago and I didn't get to it until today) indicated I needed to update the player. Did so from links on both sites, the download and install shows as successful, but no good on getting anything to work and as far as the sites are concerned the new version isn't installed as I'm still being told to install it. Went to Adobe site directly to install it, that didn't work. Checked through the troubleshooting site and did all that I was told to do there, went into Tools, made sure scripting was enabled as was Java script and both were, I didn't need to change anything. After downloads closed and reopened browser (IE right before 9, OS Win 7 64-bit), no good, then re-started computer, at least twice (at this point I've lost count) and also no good. Noticed someone else's post indicating problems with YouTube videos and I have that, too. I go to some videos and for a very brief flash of time I see a red banner at the top of the video, barely there long enough for me to read, telling me something about Flash Player. This was never an issue before the download so I have no clue what's going on here.
    Help.

  • Do New Versions of Flash Player Overwrite Old Versions?

When I install a new version of Adobe Flash Player does the old version automatically delete itself?  I have limited hard drive storage space and I am concerned that the approximately 17MB per version will compound to take up a sizeable amount of space if the old versions are not automatically being removed from my hard drive.  If the old version is not being automatically removed, how do I remove it manually?
    Thanks!
    Mac OSX 10.9.1
    Safari Web Browser

    Mike,
So I went with your advice and purchased Elements, it seems perfect for what I need.  I am starting to transfer all of my pictures from my old computers into Elements Organizer.  My preference is to store all of my photos on an external hard drive to save the space on my computer's internal memory and simply have Organizer know that the external hard drive is where to find photos.  I've encountered a problem and am wondering if you have any guidance:
I have gone into Elements Organizer's Preferences, and under Files I have chosen the Folder for Saved Files to be my external hard drive.  However, when I Import new photos into Organizer, the program is not copying them to my chosen destination (the external hard drive).  This is especially strange because when I import new photos, the checkbox for Copy FIles on Import is selected, telling me that the files should be copied to my chosen Folder for Saved Files upon import.  When I import a photo and then look at that photos Location, it remains in the original file location and not in my chosen Folder for Saved Files on the new external hard drive.
I'm not sure if this gives you enough information to help me along, but if it does I would appreciate you telling me what I am doing wrong, and what I need to do such that when I import a new photo it is stored on my external hard drive.
    Thanks!

  • New Version of Flash Player Won't Install Properly

Cannot install new version of Adobe Flash Player. Windows 7, 32 Bit. I use Firefox. Firefox is updated. Old version was working fine. Tried to install new because old one was slow and I received prompts to update. Uninstalled old one. Now, I cannot watch anything because every time I try to install the new version, I keep getting a message saying that I cannot install more than one instance of it, and that it is already open. It is not. I am confused. How do I fix this. Yes, plug-ins are allowed. I tried to connect to the part that said to try for a different computer, and chose Windows and Firefox. Still, the same problem. Please help, I am on the verge of tears.

Never mind, I chose this option:
    http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/latest/help/install_flash_player.exe
It finally allowed me to install. It is working. Adobe, I am disappointed that this update was so frustrating to install. Shame on you.

  • How do you remove older versions of flash player?

I have uninstalled the flash player and re-installed with the
new version, but I am still unable to get rid of version 9.0.115.0.
I can not find anything on the adobe site to remedy this. This is
my first laptop and don't want any unnecessary vulnerabilities on
it. Below is the link to the site where I got my information as
well as the"'warning" about the only thing that shows up vulnerable
    on my computer.
    http://secunia.com/advisories/28083/
NOTE: When updating Flash Player, older versions are not
always automatically removed from your system. If older versions
were detected that you believe should not be present, then please
contact the vendor regarding how to remove them from your system.
    Thanks for any help.

I have Macromedia Flash Player versions 4.0.7.0, 6.0.80.0,
6.0.79.0 and 7.0.19.0 on my system and have tried using the Adobe
uninstaller multiple time to no avail (does it just uninstall from
the browser?). Anyway, I agree it appears these old files may be
vulnerable. Why does Adobe make it so difficult to remove old
programs? By the way they do not appear in my Windows Add/Remove
list. Please give us some specific method to remove them (not just
another reference to the uninstaller). Thank you
