How long usually does it last?

Hi guys.
Im preparing for 1z0-043 exam and I have attended the necessary courses for this.
But, as it is known, to get the certificate execpt for passing the exam we have to fill in a requirement form.
I will probably be taken the exam in 3-4 months and wanted to ask if smb knows how long does it take Oracle
to check the form and submit that you really did or did not attend the specified course(s)?
Thank you much.

It took about 5 weeks before I got my hands on course verified recently (and mine was a recent course not difficult to verify).
In the event you have a bad da taking the course submission exam I guess this could take longer .. i would say expect 4-8 weeks before an email comes back saying its verified.
Pleae reference [http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=99] which seems authorative.
Effectivily I believe that means that as soon as you have completed a training requirement that satisies 10g OCP you should submit it.
Possilble exception might be if you are superdba and bent going for OCM and if you had taken two courses and there was one course that was eligible for OCP but not OCM then submit the one not eligible for OCM.
Its likely the forum moderator will reply within the day on this one. ... so you might want to wait a day before doing this. In the meanwhile go through the practice tutorial on submission instead of like me wading into it half asleep and then discovering i would have to wait 30 days before retrying if I made a mistake! (The format is a test but you dont pay for it ... but get your info together before you start).

how long should my battery last on my ipod classic?

Depends on its age, settings that in use on the device, what it is being used for, and whether or not it is being charged up to 100% each time (usually takes a minimum of about 4 hours or so).
According to Apple tech specs for the current iPod Classic you should be able to get 36 hours of audio playback on a full charge or up to 6 hours of video.

  • How long do lenovo laptops last?

    Hello,
I was reading some articles about the lifespan of laptops these days and it said that in general, laptops last 2-3 years only.
I was quite upset by this, since I paid a great deal of money for my W700.
I don't care if my laptop gets outdated, but I think laptops should still work for at least 10 years.
Anyway, I was wondering how long your laptops have lasted.
Please post a response saying (1) what laptop you have, and (2) how long have you had it.
    For me, it's:
    W700
    1 year no problems

My T23 is from 2001 and is alive. The LCD is showing a pink tint at boot and will probably eventually die on me at some point I wont actually be sad because the system has served me well and after that amount of time and usage........ I can't complain.
My T43p will be 6 years old in April this year, still going strong

  • How long do Linksys routers last?

    Hello.
Is it me or do Linksys routers do not last very long? I had two different Linksys routers (many years ago's BEFSX41 v1 and 2009's WRT54GL v1.1 with their latest stock firmwares). BEFSX41's network stopped loading correctly even with its internal web pages and after reinstalling its latest firmware. WRT54GL seems to be having random and rare wired network disconnection problems with my computers and cable modem, so maybe it is the router. My friend's five years old Linksys WRT router was misbehaving even with third party firmwares (both DD-WRT and Tomato).
Do these consumer routers not last very long?
    Thank you in advance.

For me, it really depends on how we we use the device. There's no definite time span on how long the device will last. If you're having problems with the device, there are workarounds that you may do to get it working again.

How long would the battery last if you were usinng it for wireless msn around the house..
    Thanks,
    Andrew

I never get less than 3 1/2 hours and generally get a bit over 4 hours on a fully charged battery. Before unplugging I make sure BlueTooth and sound is off, the backlight is set as low as I can stand it, I have no disc in the drive, and all the applications and files I intend to use are running and loaded. The three biggest juice eaters are the display's backlight, the hard drive and optical drive so I minimize the use of all three while unplugged.
Are Mac notebooks tough? A couple quick stories: I dropped my G3 iBook off my desk and it hit the concrete floor on its corner breaking off a large piece of plastic. I fashioned a fiberglass bandage and used the computer for 3 months before finding a functional used shell. A customer came in with a horrifically bent PowerBook last summer - it fell out of his motorcycle sidebag while he was driving (35 MPH) and was run over by at least 1 car. It booted up and the display while bent by the mangled case still worked. I actually used Migration Assistent to move his stuff to the new computer. A student brought me his MacBook which he'd dropped down half a flight of stairs at the college. It had been in a lightly padded sleeve. It looked banged up - there were some fractures to the bottom case and the hinge squealed terribly as I opened it. But the computer woke up and it checked out okay. AppleCare basically replaced everything but the innards - the guy's home insurance covered all but the deductible which was a good thing - that is an expensive repair! Would the typical PC survive these accidents? Well, I know from experience the cheap plastic Dell and HP models wouldn't.

  • How long should the battery last in between uses?

I am just wondering how long the battery should last in between uses? I find mine really goes down FAST..I just purchased this on Sunday and charged it the right amount of time as such. The first time I used it after the initial charge I was downloading 2 music albums and just left it on and by morning the battery was drained..shouldn't it have lasted at least a few days? Its an iPod touch 16g V2.
Then lastnight I had it charged and was browing youtube and in a couple hours the battery was about 1/2 way..is this normal?
    Thanks for your help!

The Touch's Wireless Internet access really chews up the battery time. When you're not using the wireless, go to Settings and turn Wireless off. When you're ready to go browsing, you can always turn it back on. If you already have a wireless access set up in your abode, the Touch will quickly "re-find" it and you'll be browsing again. If you're in a public free wireless area, you'll have to log on, etc.
If I leave wireless on all the time, my iPod Touch battery life is like halved-- sometimes more. The same holds true when viewing movies or video.
    Hope this helps!

  • How long do our batteries last? and does using a Motorola Razr charger hu

I am wondering how long our batteries last and how we go about changing them

You should basically consider an mp3 player with a built in battery as being disposable, and typically not worth repairing once the battery no longer holds a charge. This might take 30 months or more to occur. For that reason, imo people should avoid buying a very expensi've player. The other option is to buy a? player that uses a AAA battery. These have a tiny screen though, and typically just one or two gigs of storage.

  • How long should the battery last while surfing the web?

I'm curious to know how long the battery on my Macbook should last when just surfing the web and downloading music and videos. I'm getting about 3 hours, I have a feeling it should be a lot longer. I don't have the brightness all the way up and I dim the illuminated keys.

It really depends on your configuration and what you are doing on the web.
If you have minimum RAM, the HDD will be accessed more often, causing heat which causes the fan to come on more often, which uses up power.
While I watch youtube and other forms of streaming video, my fans are usually on, so my battery life is less.
While cruising these boards and such, my battery lasts twice as long as streaming.
3 hrs while downloading music and videos is not a bad figure.
What you might want to do is watch a 2 hour movie and document the amount of time you get from the battery.
Do the same while streaming a movie.
Do some typing and or general surfing sans streaming type stuff.
The above spans a different range of CPU and graphics usage.
Then post back your times here. You will get a better indication of battery condition.
Also, post back with how much RAM you have.

  • How long should my Style last on a charge under 'normal' use?

I picked up a Style in January and had it connect via our corporate BES.  I get a few dozen emails a day and reply only occassionally via the BB.  More often I use my PC during daylight hours.  After hours I get a dozen or so emails, a few (3 - 5) facebook updates, a text message now and again (0 - 2) and little else on a daily basis.  I take only support calls when I am not near a land line which averages one or two per day.  I've turned down the backlight to 50% and keep only the minimum number of messages.  I try to reply without earlier messages when I can.  I've tailored down my use of the Style to as low as I dare and yet I cannot get more than a few hours of standby time.  If I get on a call that last any length of time at all (20 mins or longer) I get nervous that the phone will lose the radio.
I'm using a Style 9760 with 6.0 bundle 2426  with Sprint.  I have 224,720,665 Bytes of Free Memory and resetting the battery doesn't affect this.  I have the basic apps but also Facebook for BB and Google Maps, neither of which are on unless I am using it.  I typically only have the basic 5 apps that come with the BB running.
This doesn't seem to get any better the longer I have the phone.  I've tried some suggestions from the local Sprint store but they don't seem to affect it to any significant degree.
I'm just concerned that the style was designed to be charged a few times each day.  Can someone give me a clear idea how long this should last on standby and when I am using it either as a phone or a text device?

    Hey bmcnamara,
    Welcome to the forums.
From your post it sounds like you are doing most things right to save on battery power. One additional thing you can try is turning off locations services. If you use Maps or Facebook Places or any other application that use GPS then will not want to turn this off.
Here is how to turn of location services on your BlackBerry smartphone. Options - Device - Location Settings.
Let us know how you make out.

  • How long should a Mac last?

I bought a Macbook Pro in April 2010 and just found out that I need to have the logic board replaced. This computer cost me almost $3000 when I bought it and is now going to cost me another $700 to fix.
I am not happy about this. When you buy a $3000 piece of computer equipment, you expect it to last, at the very least, until it's obsolete. My wife has a 3 yr old DELL laptop that is still functioning perfectly well. My 6yr PC is still going as well as when I bought it, and it is powered on 24/7.
I guess what bothers me the most about this is that this is my first apple mac and I expected it to be of superior quality to its competitors. And for apple to be a superior company in terms of customer support. I was clearly wrong.
How long do you expect your mac to last?

I know I said I would sign off on the topic, but people keep fuelling it.
It would be nice if Apple gave a longer warranty, but discussing Apple policy is not what these forums are for, and in fact is specifically forbidden by the Apple Support Communities Terms of Use.
Are you serious? We aren't allowed to discuss Apple policy on their forum? That seems a little censored. What are they scared of? Maybe they might learn something.
But I get the idea that you are more interested in complaining than in getting actual feedback, since you seem uninterested in hearing that Macs are actually quite reliable.  If all you want to do is complain about Apple, you'll find this is not a place where you will find much sympathy.
I am genuinely interested in how long people believe their mac should last. If everyone says that I shouldn't expect my laptop - built by Apple, a $400b company - to last 2yrs, then I will happily give them my money. I'll feel stupid for doing it since I expected more, but I'll do it. If on the other hand the majority say they expect their macs to last, say, 5 yrs, then I will go in asking them to repair it at a discount. Having said all that, a little sympathy on the side would also be nice
I am not out to bash Apple. My household has more than enough Apple products to make us look like fanboy house. I just want to know what people expect from such a prestigious brand.

  • How long time does a restore of a 30GB ipod actually takes?

My ipod is only 11 days old.
I received several of those corrupted file messages for 2 days, so I decided to restore the ipod unit last night.
Now it has been in the process in 12+ hours.(!!)
When I try to close the "ipod restore" program (version 2006-01-10), it says that it cant be interrupted when its restoring (which is a great feature!), but how long should I actually wait for it to finish?
It says that the application will be closed when its finished.
It should come up with the "name your ipod" WHEN its finished, but it doesnt?
It is still connected, I can see the ipod as a removeable disk, but nothing happens..
What will happen if I try open iTunes at this stage?
    Any suggestions?
    Please help.
    Thanks!!

    continuing my story...
I terminated the restore process, it wasnt responding obviously, then unplugged the ipod the hard way.
It did wake up, showed the wall plug icon, then showed the appleicen up, then the screen lighted up and it asked me to choose a language, I didnt manage to pick one before another screen showed up and it needed power( it has been connected to a powersource/the computer for the last 20 hours!!???), and now its charging...
It still shows up as a removable drive, I can click on it and see that there's 4 folders in there (calendar, contacts, ipodcontrol and notes) so, the restore worked, even though it never ended, and it is fully wiped clean. 27.8 GB to fill soon. (hopefully)
Tomorrow I will unmount it and see what happens. I still need to pick a userlanguage, and then I will plug it in again, and see if it shows up in iTunes (it DOESNT today!)

  • How long would an ipod last as an external HDD?

It depends on how often you'd be writing info to the hd, but my guess would be not long!
The iPod hd isn't robust enough to use in this manner (where it needs to keep spinning up a great deal).
Plus, a restore is very often a cure for iPod ills and that means a total loss of any data stored on it.
With the price of ext hd as cheap as they are nowadays, in my view it just isn't worth using an iPod in this manner.

  • IPhone 2G- users, how long did your phone last?

I just got a 3G iPhone and I'm wondering if my phone will last the whole 2 year contract I have with AT&T... and hopefully longer when I renew my contract (so I don't have to buy a new iPhone)..
How many of you still use your original 2G iPhone for over a year+, and still no issues? (like dead pixels, or dead spots on the screen)
For those who do have issues, how long did it take for those issues to pop up? 6 months? 1 year? 2 years?

Mine is still gong strong after more than a year.
