I have a three year old MacBook Pro, and my employer requires that I encrypt my hard drive. FileVault took about 2 hours to encrypt my home file. When I set it up, I checked the secure erase previous home folder box. I have no idea how long this process will take but it has bee sixteen hours so far, and the progress bar is like one pixel wide. Can I interrupt this with a forced power down?

Water damage voids your warranty, so you only option with Apple is an out of warranty exchange. You can check what that fee would be in your country on the support pages.
Note that since Apple does not (and never has) repair iOS devices (they exchange them with factory refurbished units), there is no Apple certified training program for iOS repairs, no official parts supply and hence no such thing as an Apple Authorized repair technician or center for any iOS device. Any repairs you have done by a 3rd party shop you do on your own and you must be prepared to live with the results, whatever they are, as Apple will not accept a device that has been worked on by someone else.

I received mine less than 2 days after I ordered mine. Although I ordered my 13 inch Pro on a Friday night, I received it Tuesday. I don't count Sat. and Sun, and they don't operate. So technically 4 days but 2 days on business days.

When you order you will be given an install date. If you are lucky you may even be able to choose an install date. Additionally and in theory you do not need to give notice to your current provider as this is not required when you move across to a different provider using a MAC code. Always worth checking that last one as sky tried to say BT hadn't notified them of the shift in a timely manner when I came across.

I did a clean install on my iMac. Now I cannot access my backups. I can see the time capsule, but when I open time machine, I only have today which is the newly installed system. I am now trying to use migration assistant to grab my files. I got to where I choose my time machine and entered my password. Now I don't see any action. How long will the transfer take? My 500 gb time capsule is full. Should I be seeing something on my screen.

This depends on what the connection type is for the computer to the Time Capsule - wireless or Ethernet, how much data are involved, what generation of Time Capsule, and whether the transfers are to an HDD or SSD.

There's no fixed time. If it's been accepted - presumably you've been given a URL? - it should appear reasonably soon. However it can dake some days before it turns up in the search results. The podcast image, if you have one, may also take some days to appear.

I've just done the update directly on my iPhone from 7.0.4 to 7.0.6 and it took 15 minutes from start to finish - on my iPad yesterday it was similar.
However you do the update, directly on your iPad or via your computer's iTunes (via your computer will be slower), then copy your purchases over to your computer's iTunes via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases and take a backup of your iPad - and preferably copy any important documents and/or photos off as well so that you have your own copy of them (the update should go smoothly, but it's best to be safe)
