How low can ipad mini battery go before it needs to be charged?

How low can an ipad mini's battery go before It should be charged? I just received this for Christmas and want to make sure I take care of it properly. Thanks

Start with this and see of it will start up. Unplug it from the charger before you do this.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. See if the iPad starts up.

  • How come my ipad mini battery percentage drop even though is still charging with the charger?

I just bought my ipad mini two weeks ago. Just curious how come my battery percentage will drop even though I am still charging it. And this happen twice. I never do anything with the ipad when charging as I left it to charge while i went to sleep.

There must be a loose connection somewhere; check all your connection points or try another wall socket.
If it still doesn't work, try another cable and charger.

I beleive you have to keep your PAID data of at least 1gb

  • How low can mac mini storage capacity go before it affects performance?

I have 15 GB left on my hard drive, how low can it go before it affects performance and I welcome any recommendations on how I can best expand storage space.
Usage: I use my mac for word and excel docs, but I store a number of images and graphic files, but I don't use any designer software.
    Thanks,

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
There's no one answer to the question of how much free space you really need to keep on your drive before performance and system stability begins to suffer, but with 15Gb left at the present, you will only be reaching that point if you are doing things like burning disk images (because macOS grabs drive space to store the image) or syncing with MobileMe.
In your situation I'd be careful not to go below 10Gb free.
Expanding storage space is very easy. Buy an external drive with either USB2.0 or Firewire interface (firewire is better but more expensive) and connect it to your system. If the drive isn't set up for a MAc, it can easily be partitioned and formatted using Disk Utility on the Mac, and you are then ready to use whatever capacity the external has - including moving any or all your files, music, photos etc to the external if you wish or need to. Just about any external, even models which appear to be for PC/Windows use only, will work perfectly well on a Mac - you don't need a 'Mac compatible' drive.

  • I would like to know how I can service my battery online.

I would like to know how I can service my battery online?

    Hi Michael,
Download Coconut battery, its a smal program that displays battery information and if you have over 500 battery load cycles it might be nearly ready to be replaced. I had to do the exact same thing.
When the battery gets close to dying it starts to lose the macs PRAM and NVRAM settings possibly eventually stopping you from selecting a boot disk or it might even just randomly freeze and require a restart. If this does happen hold down Command+alt+P+R to reset these parameters on reboot before the grey screen appears.
If this starts to happen you know it needs replacing
    Good luck

  • My iPad mini battery dies super quick

Anyone have a. Solution to solving this issues with my iPad mini battery?

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • How comes the Ipad mini isn't Retina Display if it has the same resolution as the New iPad?

How comes the Ipad mini isn't Retina Display if it has the same resolution as the New iPad?

The iPad mini doesn't have the same resolution as the "new iPad".
    iPad 3 & 4 (retina) = 2048x1536 pixels
    iPad 1 & 2 (original) = 1024x768
    iPad mini = 1024x768
Apple likely didn't put a retina screen in the iPad mini to keep cost down and to have an option to upgrade the iPad mini to a retina screen down the road, in a year or two.  It could be however that the pixel density of 2048x768 at 9" poses a problem for the viewer, in that text and features might be rendered too small or too thin for the average buyer/consumer.
