How many 11gR2 RAC instance servers would be needed?

On the shared SAN drive - there will be as many as 6 11gR2 databases. For 2 node RAC instance servers - how many instance servers would work fine - are two separate servers needed for each database?

Your question seems to indicate a lack of understanding of what RAC provides and how it achieves that goal... High Availability.
RAC can also be used to provide additional horsepower - on the fly. I have added a new node - start to finish in < 2hrs. (new hardware+install/configure OS+addnode to RAC and have it online and operational.) No other database solution offers this flexability.

How many Licenses of Acrobat Professional do I need for Adobe LC PDF Generator

At our customer site we have purchased 6 licenses of Adobe LiveCycle PDF Generator and have recieved a license file with the keys for Adobe LiveCycle PDF Generator and Adobe Acrobat Professional. We bought the license from a reseller of the product. We understand that the Adobe LiveCycle PDF Generator is a server based software and needs 1 license per CPU. Each of our server (Dev, Val & Prod) have 2 CPU's so we have sufficient licenses (6). We are under the impression that this would suffice. How ever we are not sure on how many licenses we need for Acrobat Professional.
Here is a brief description of the way we would use Adobe LiveCycle PDF Generator. We are deploying a PLM system and one of the requirement is to render Word documents to PDF so we are using PDF Generator for this capability. On our Adobe servers we will install Microsoft Word, Acrobat Professional V9 Extended and the Adobe Livecycle PDF Generator. We will have around 150 users for the PLM system being deployed. The PLM system is a Web based system which means the PLM application server will be running on a Solaris server in our case. As part of the workflows in the PLM system, at the end of the workflow process, the PLM server would trigger a request to the Adobe server to convert the word document to PDF. The Adobe server processess the request and returns the PDF file that gets generated.
Based on the above usage of the system how many licenses of Acrobat Professional do we need? We will be installing Acrobat only on the server where we install the Livecycle PDF Generator. We had a call with our purchasing person today and she cautioned us that for Adobe Acrobat Professional we might need 1 license per user of the PLM system. She has asked us to check this with the Vendor of the product. Somehow I don't think it makes sense to purchase so many Acrobat Professional licenses even though we install only once.
So can someone tell me How does the licensing for Adobe Livecycle PDF Generator work? How many Acrobat Professional licenses we actually need? Is it based on the number of users in the system that is triggering the request? Appreciate your response on this.

You really should talk to your Adobe Sales Rep about this. There are all kinds of special deals, licenses and such for customers using LiveCycle. (For instance the license for PDFG may include Acrobat licenses for certain uses).

With a bootable clone, no. Provided you don't save the backup states changes which CCC is doing now.
I prefer a straight clone backup, I keep many copies of clones on seperate hardware to "go back in time" with and thus avoid saving the changes with my clones.
I swear I tried to back up my computer on a 250g G-Drive and it told me there was not enough room. But I am not positive if the entire drive was available or not. I may have had it sectioned into 150 & 100 sections and I might have tried to back it up on the 150 section. or I might be imagining that.... either way, it didn't work.
Your data is going to grow, 232GB is rather small for a boot drive.
So your going to be needing storage drives eventually, just plan ahead and remmeber hardware redundancy is key.

1) How many concurrent users will you have? peak times?
2) How many logins/sec will you have? peak times?
3) What type of portlets will you be using (HTML mostly, or portlets whiuch actually do something)?
Here may be some other useful information. Unfortunately things are a little more complicated then saving N people requires X machines.

if one VMWare host should run more then 2 VMs you need a Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter edition (unlimited versions from Windows VMs on the host) from Windows or 7 Windows Standard licenses (max. 14 VMs).
Keep in mind that processors count into the license requirements.
"...using VMware for high availability..."
This means that you should have at least 2 VMWare hosts which have the RAM and processors to run in caseof hardware problem from the other host ALL VMs.
So you are now need at least 2 Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter licenses or 14 Standard editions.

You do not need any of them. They are not needed to run Java applets.

You can use the installer you download using your account to install on all the Macs in your household. Just remember to save off the installer before you install Lion, so you can then make a bootable USB drive.

1. total db reads per TPS - 1800
2. total db writes per TPS - 1080
3. total read per second during normal peak (MB) - 3.96
4. total write per second during normal peak (MB) - 0.432
5.login TPS for DDOS volume - 12000 (total read - 52.8 mb/total write - 5.76 mb)

How many servers need to be added in order to service 127 iPads going online?

I was wondering if anyone knows how many servers would be needed to provide the resources for 127 iPads to go online.

Give us a picture of the load.
Are they all going to sync to the same computer with different user accounts?
In which case 1 server is going to need lots of storage.
Are you just using it to manage Profiles - a mini will suffice
Are you going to use it to manage Profiles and link in with Mail, Cal, Address & VPN - depending on the active load - a mini might suffice or you will want something bigger.
How complex do you want your managment to be - are you integrating with AD, or setting up a stand alone OD to handle this?
Are you going to be using WebDav?
Are you going to be hosting files via HTTP for the iPads or setting up resources via the Wiki's / Blogs (although you still cannot edit them...)
I certainly plan on supporting 100+ iPads via Profile Manager on an iPad - but I doubt if I will be running Mail, VPN, Cal or Address books - I want them to hook into an exchange server instead for that info.
If you want a more informed opinion - give us a much more realistic overview of your network, your proposed deployment structure and expected utilisation.

Oracle 11gR2 RAC VM and SCAN and DNS and /etc/hosts (two) setup questions

I am looking forward to setting up two Oracle 11gR2 RAC instances
on my Oracle VM test machine.
I plan on using the Oracle 11gR2 RAC VM template.
I want the final Oracle 11gR2 RAC instances to have SCAN that uses DNS.
The DNS will be pre-installed in the JeOS.
My first simple question about the setup is the following.
In my DNS name file, for example,
/var/named/chroot/var/named/milkyway.univ.db
do I need to provide the racnode1 and racnode2 information,
for example,

racnode1 IN A 192.168.1.161
racnode1-vip IN A 192.168.1.163

I have two servers with 2 Cores and 2 CPUs. We are planning to install weblogic in both of the these servers (Unix box). And will be using virualisation of servers to access the application. So in the client side virtually one server will be seen. In this case how many licences of Weblogic Enterprice edition I need to buy ?
Another scenario
If want to use weblogic for some time in 4 CPU with Single Core. And then want to shifts to 2CPU dual Cores server. How many licences of Weblogic Enterprice edition should I buy ?
