How many addresses in a mailing list?

Hi everybody, i have a mailing list counting almost 700 addresses. All of them are correct. However, if I put all the addresses in a message, a warning appears, with all the addresses, saying I cannot use the server (choose another-one, try later, edit the message).
To overcome the problem, I have to divide the list in 7 one hundred addresses parts. In this way, it works.
I am a subscriber of mobile.me, so I'm paying for the mobile.me services.
My question is: should I do something special to send a message to 600 people in one installment or should I ask Apple to let me increase the number of addresses allowed, probably paying more?

Probably would be a "no go" to ask, but you can always try. See:

Even with your breaking it down to groups of 100, you may run into limits.

I've been searching through the entire API, specifically the InternetAddress class and I can't seem to find out how to create a group/mailing list. Does anyone know how to do this?
That is, I would like to be able to group a bunch of e-mail addresses together and give that group a name "my friends". Then send it off using this 'group mail address' as opposed to an array of InternetAddress[]. Then when the recipients receive the e-mail, they see "my friends" in the To: field, instead of everyone's e-mail address...
Is this possible in JavaMail? I've tried many things like creating an InternetAddress object passing in a comma-delimited list of e-mail addresses but it doesn't like it.

I will sometimes send an email on my ipod touch 4g to multiple people at the same time. But every time I do it I have to manuelly add in everybody one contact at a time. How can I create a mailing list that I can just select whenever I want to send an email to the same group of people?

What file format is that mailing list in? If it's a PDF file, you can use either Export PDF or Acrobat to convert the file to Excel format.
If your mailing list is in a format other than PDF, then Acrobat isn't what you need. You would want to check with Microsoft to see whether it's in a format that Excel supports.

How can I copy a mailing list into address book without having to type them individualy

I have a mailing list and I would like to send emails to everyone on the list in one go, I copied and pasted the list into my email, but can I have this group somewhere so that I can just call it up like an ordinary address from the address book, preferably without having to type every name individualy into the address book. I tried making a group in the address book and pasting the list in without success,if this is possible can some explain how I can acheive this

Unfortunately, you have to add them one at a time - wait a sec... oh, yeah, if the contact is in your contact list it will 'auto-fill' as you begin to type. So if I want Wendy Whatshername, all I have to do is type Wen and the contacts will show up for you to select and auto-fill the name and email address.

Address Book problem - mail list won't expand or send

I'm using Mail on my iMAc. I've added a new mail list to my address book. When I use it in the to: , cc: , or bcc: it won't work. It won't even expand (right click the icon in the to: field and click Expand Group. It just clears the to: field.
What am I doing wrong?

User e-mail address in 2 mailing lists

I have a question from a customer i had no idea.
if a persons email address is in 2 mailing lists do they get the e-newsletter twice if the customer sends the e-newsletter to both lists.

If the contact is in both lists selected to send the newsletter out to the system will recognize the duplicate and will only send a single e-mail in this case.

How many addresses can you put in AddressBook?

I posted this on the Tiger forum in error since I'm running OS 10.3.9 on an old G-4 (whoever thought back in 2000 that a G-4 would be "old"?).
I'm putting the email mailing list for my brother-in-law's restaurant (House on the Hill, Poway, CA) into AddressBook. I'm up to 500 people, plus my own personal people.
Anyone know the limitations of AddressBook? Is there a product out there better suited to handling this chore?

I don't think there is a numerical limit of addresses. It's probably based on a maximum file size limit like 4GB, although, there may not be a limit.

How do I change the order of addresses in a Mail list?

I have been using Lists in Mail very successfully for a number of years but the addresses do not seem to be in any order - not alphabetical, not in the order I put them into the list. Sometimes I need to NOT send an email to a person on one of my lists and finding their address amongst up to 65 addresses in BCC and deleting it is time wasting. Does anyone know to to alphabetize the lists?

Welcome to the Support Communities!
The individual contacts are sorted first within the Contact application. When you create a group in Contacts, the individual names in the group should keep the same sorting order. Try resetting the name order for all contacts.
Contacts (Mavericks): List contacts by first or last name

Change the name order for all contacts
Choose Contacts > Preferences, then click General.
Select an option next to “Show first name.”
Sort contacts
Choose Contacts > Preferences, then click General.
Use the Sort By menu to choose how to sort.
