How many AP can be powered by SRW224G4P??

Hello
I have a question on 300 series PoE switch (SRW224G4P, power budget: 180W).
How many WAP 4410N can be powered by this switch??
How many AP 1242 can be powered by this switch??
Since CDP is not supported yet, I think switch will provide 15.4W power for each AP. So each switch can power up to 11 WAP4410N or AP 1242.
Is this correct??
One other quesiton is
When CDP is supported, can I calculate as below??
WAP4410N (Power draw:10.1W): 180/10.1W = 17.xx -> Up to 17 WAP4410N can be powerd
AP1242 (Power draw:12.4W): 180/12.4W = 14.xx -> Up to 14 WAP4410N can be powerd
Please let me know if this calculation is correct
Best Regards
Allan Kim

Hi Allan,
You mention you wish to use the older SKU  p/n SRW224G4P, which has been refreshed and  replaced by  SRW224G4P-K9-NA
.Here is the EOL notice fior the SKU you detailed;
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/switches/ps5718/ps9967/end_of_life_notice_c51-626527.html
Why not avail yourself of the newer 300 series switch such as  SRW224G4P-K9-NA .
I am using beta code version 1.1 code on my unit.
Version 1.1  will be Generally Available  at the end of this month ( fingers crossed),  and Version 1.1 firmware supports CDP.
See datasheet for the new product, generations ahead of the old p/n that you mentioned.;
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/switches/ps5718/ps10898/data_sheet_c78-610061.html
Anyway the  AP1240AG  isn't a pre-standard device but supports standards based  802.3af, hence i really see no benefit in using the older product..
Datasheet on the AP1240AG correlates with your data, maximum power drawn is 12.4watts.
Allan,  your calulations seem spot on.
SRW224G4P-K9-NA as well as the older switch you mention both support aPOE  power budget of 180W.
I personally like to be slightly conservative in terms of loading the switch up..  I prefer  to spread the load between switches if i can.
But the GUI of the 300 series switch will show the power drawn by the devices.
The device circled below is a AP1142 with wireless-a turned off.
Have fun,
regards Dave

  • How many amperes can be powered by the USB Port

I'm looking for a new USB Powered HD (in the 160-250 GB range) that my AirPort Extreme's USB port can power.
My current LaCie USB Powered Mobile Harddisk ( http://www.lacie.com/uk/products/product.htm?pid=10651 ) can't get enough power from the AirPort Extreme (n) to run.
    QUESTIONS:
How many amperes does the AirPort USB port "support"?
Do you have a USB powered HD that works fine with the APEBS (2.5" in the 160-250 GB Range)? - Make and model please?
    Thanks in advance.

  • How many devices can a WRT54G successfully route?

I have a client that is trying to use a WRT54G router to route traffice coming from a Linksys SRW224G4P managed switch. The client has 18 VoIP devices and 6 computers running over this setup.
How many devices can the WRT54G successfully process as a router?

i don't think that these many VOIP devices would work with a SOHO router like WRT54G....i would recommend u to go for a enterprise level router for your kind of set up...

  • How many drives can be mounted?

When I plugged in a thumb drive (32GB) it kicked off my 1.5 TB time machine drive.  Both were on a external USB powered Hub.  Is there a limit on how many drives can be mounted?

There's a theoretical limit of 127 items on one USB bus so you were quite far from the limit (though I know of no one who has come close to that limit!). Is your TM drive self powered or bus powered? If bus powered I'd suspect that maybe the hub isn't supplying enough power or maybe has become unplugged from its power supply.
BTW have you tried again? Is this a repeatable event?

  • How Many Songs Can iTunes hold? My Library Is Becoming Quite Large

My iTunes library is getting very large, how many songs can it hold?

There is no fixed limit. However, running a very large library on a less-than-powerful machine may result in slow performance. Also, having too many smart playlists with live updating slows the machine down.
There are some big ones out there, even over 1 TB. Search the web on "biggest itunes library" for some war stories.

  • How Many Times Can I Use The Same Serial Number For Adobe Creative Suite 4?

I have design standard and was told I can use the same serial number on multiple computers. How many time can I use it? And say I install it on the maximum number of computers, but get a new computer, can I uninstall it on one of the old computers and use it on the new one? And can I use the programs on both computers simultaneously or do I have to use them one at a time?

Broadly speaking, it depends on the type of license you have.
Specifically, if you have a single license then officially, you should only install it once on one computer.
Practically, (unless it has changed with CS4) you maybe able to install it on more then one computer, BUT can only run one instance of the software at a time. You can not run more then one instance of the software concurrently; i.e. you can't run Dreamweaver on Computer 1 and Photoshop on Computer 2. That would be two instances, and is not permitted.
This is my understanding. I am happy to be corrected if I am wrong
    Fred
    Sorry Fred you are wrong.
If you have a single license you can install it on as many computers as you like. you can only activate the suite on two computers at anyone time. Work and Home or as many of us do it Desktop and Laptop. You can not use the computers simultaneously. You only have 20 activation/deactivations so use them wisely. Student versions only have one activation. You can not break up the suite installs the suite is considered one application.

  • How many times can a team member install Creative Cloud for teams ?

How many times can a team member install Creative Cloud for teams ?
Is it possible for one team member to install it for example on a portable mac and a desktop pc at the same time?

From the Creative Cloud FAQ at https://www.adobe.com/products/creativecloud/faq.html under the Purchasing and getting started section:
On how many computers can I install the software I download from Creative Cloud?
You can install the desktop applications available in Creative Cloud on your primary computer and one backup computer, as long as they are not running at the same time. You will have access to both the Mac OS and Windows versions, so if you have a Mac at home and a PC at work, for instance, you can install your applications on both. See the product license agreements page for more information.

  • How many laptops can I install on with only one lightroom 6 license? (not cc version)

I read from somewhere that one creative cloud  account can be used on two different devices, but what about the lightroom 6 version?
If I pay $149 for lightroom 6, how many laptops can I install on? I now have one windows laptop and one mac.
    Thanks for helping.

I selected yours as the correct answer because of the webpage you provided, but I cannot understand that what "only use it on one computer at a time".
If the software is for offline use, how does it know if I'm running it on another computer?

  • How many times can you resend an iTunes Gift Card?

Tried sending an iTunes gift card to a @facebook account but the recipient hasn't received it.
Is it possible to send to another of their @facebook accounts and if that also fails then to a conventional account?
I guess my question is how many times can you resend on Gift Card and to how many different email accounts?

To use an iTune Gift Card to buy books...
Open iTunes on your computer and click on the iTunes Store.
You'll need to be signed in...
Click on the little House icon in the dark gray bar across the top. (or Shift+Command+H)
On the right side of the page under Quick Links click Redeem and enter your code.
Then it will show your credit balance in the dark gray bar across the top next to your account name to let you know how much you have to spend.
Then as you buy books, it'll deduct from the credit balanace.
There is a distinction between, iTunes Gift Card and Apple Gift Card.
Apple Gift Card: can be used to purchase Apple hardware and accessories at any Apple Retail Store, the Apple Online Store...
iTunes Gift Card: To give music, movies, TV shows, apps, books, or anything on the iTunes Store, the App Store, the iBooks Store or the Mac App Store, select an iTunes Gift Card
