You might find that you get more time out of it if you change the power options to energy saving. You will get more time out of your battery if you replace it with a higher capacity version.

  • How many new accounts before I start getting denied for an auto loan in Oct? (Fico 8 score 820)

As I understand, DCU gives some fantastic auto loan terms (1.5% for its members, which can be anybody from the general public), and they want mostly 680 and above to qualify for that rate. So you're possibly fine unless maybe you hit double digits in inquiries?  Now I also understand that you might qualify for 0% financing at some places; their models (the auto enhanced ones) might penalize more harshly than FICO 08 for opening up new CC accounts so you may want to be careful with that.  The current MyFICO package offers those scores as well, I believe. Why don't you check where you are with all the new accounts w.r.t auto enhanced scoring?

I understand its ideal to wait for 6+ months. But worst case I'll just wait another couple months or just buy my car outright. But to get a better idea and understanding of how far I can push this. Given my score and history, how many new accounts before I start running into trouble? I applied for 2 new CC so far. I'm going to APP for another 1-2. So in October this is what my inquires will look like: (4 new inquiries)Hard Inquires with past 6 months: EXP: 2-3. • MacBook Pro -- how many battery cycles before time to replace battery?

Got a 5 year old MacBook Pro. There are around 95 battery cycles on the battery. It's the original battery. How many cycles should I expect before it's time to replace?
I ask because Checkmate is suggesting it's time.

    Section : Battery warranty information
Your one-year warranty includes replacement coverage for a defective battery. You can extend your replacement coverage for a defective battery to three years from the date of your notebook purchase with the AppleCare Protection Plan. However, the AppleCare Protection Plan for notebook computers does not cover batteries that have stopped working or are exhibiting diminished capacity due to normal use except when it is the result of a manufacturing defect.

i already have 590 battery cycles. the MBP is only 1 year old. is this healthy? any tips? Im already at 80% capacity.

battery cycles dont mean anything except in the old age of the battery
short term abuse kills a battery, NOT battery cycles.
General consideration of your MacBook battery
Contrary to popular myths about notebook batteries, there is protection circuitry in your Macbook and therefore you cannot ‘overcharge’ your notebook when plugged in and already fully charged.
However if you do not plan on using your notebook for several hours, turn it off (plugged in or otherwise), since you do not want your Macbook ‘both always plugged in and in sleep mode’.
A lot of battery experts call the use of Lithium-Ion cells the "80% Rule", meaning use 80% of the full charge or so, then recharge them for longer overall life. The main quantified damage done in the use of Lithium Ion batteries are instances where the internal notebook battery is “often drained very low”, this is bad general use of your notebook battery.
A person who has, for example, 300 charge cycles on their battery and is recharging at say 40% remaining of a 100% charge has a better battery condition state than, say, another person who has 300 charge cycles on their battery and is recharging at say 10-15% remaining on a 100% charge. DoD (depth of discharge) is much more important on the wear and tear on your Macbook’s battery than the count of charge cycles. There is no set “mile” or wear from a charge cycle in specific. Frequent high depth of discharge rates (draining the battery very low) on a Lithium battery will hasten the lowering of maximum battery capacity.
All batteries in any device are a consumable meant to be replaced eventually after much time, even under perfect use conditions.
If the massive amount of data that exists on lithium batteries were to be condensed into a simplex, helpful, and memorable bit of information it would be:
    1. While realistically a bit impractical during normal everyday use, a lithium battery's longevity and its chemistry's health is most happy swinging back and forth between 20% and 85% charge roughly.
    2. Do not purposefully drain your battery very low (10% and less), and do not keep them charged often or always high (100%).
    3. Lithium batteries do not like the following:
A: Deep discharges, as meaning roughly 10% or less on a frequent basis.
B: Rapid discharges as referring to energy intensive gaming on battery on a frequent basis (in which case while gaming, if possible, do same on power rather than battery). This is a minor consideration.
C: Constant inflation, as meaning always or most often on charge, and certainly not both in sleep mode and on charge always or often.

  • How many episodes needed before submitting to iTunes?

Hi all. I have a quick question. I have just started recording my podcasts and have them saved on my computer.
I know I need to create a feed, host them, tag them, etc.
My question is how many episodes do I need to have up in my feed (and seen on my blog) before I should submit the feed to iTunes?
I currently have five ready to go. Is that enough or should I do a few more and then submit to the iTunes directory. I don't want to get rejected for not having enough episodes already completed.
    Thank you so much.

You need to  have at least one episode live on your feed before you submit.
You also need to make sure that file is hosted on a server that supports byte range requests.
And you need to make sure your feed validates ok at http://feedvalidator.org  before you submit.
Finally make sure you have good looking at work that is 1,400 x 1,400 Pixels - .png or .jpg (RGB) - not .jpg (CMYK) as that will not work in iTunes.

    Rob W

  • How can I access BIOS/EFI in MBP Retina

How can I access EFI (or BIOS equivalent) in Macbook Pro Retina?
I tried to access with Option + Command + O and F. But, it doesn't work.
Is there anyone who saw the bios settings of MBP Retina?

Apple disables the standard mechanism for entry into the EFI shell in its computers, but not the EFI shell itself. If you want to launch the EFI shell, you can download third-party software that changes the interface EFI shows you at start-up. This will void your warranty & support, so you'll have to use Google for instructions.

  • How many repeat repairs before Apple admits they cannot repair problem?

I have brought in my 15" Powerbook G4 FW800 for a 4th time today to the Apple Store to try and resolve an intermittant problem with the machine not waking from sleep properly. Upon waking from sleep, the screen sometimes doesn't return. The caps lock key lights, but no joy trying to get any display. In addition, when I try to reboot the machine when this happens, I often have to go through two cycles of trying to power up before it will successfully boot. If the screen does come back after waking from sleep, sometimes it will freeze within a minute or two (no kernel panic, just complete freeze).
As I said this is an intermittant problem and I have tried desperately to find some sort of pattern to help them fix the problem but I haven't been able to.
Attempts to resolve the problem include:
    - LCD screen replaced as part of the "white spot" acknowledged issue
    - replaced the memory twice. Reseated memory multiple times in different slots. Re-installed original Apple memory. Ran multiple memory tests which resulted in no errors.
    - Bluetooth module replaced (stopped being recognized at some point and Genius said it could be related (it wasn't)
    - Hard drive replaced
    - Logic board replaced
    - System re-installed twice, once as an archive install, then as a full clean install
So this is the 4th time I have brought the machine in to try and fix the problem. My question is at what point will Apple just say, they don't know how to fix the problem? Will they replace my machine? Or am I doomed to keep bringing the machine in every few weeks?

after the 3rd time of not being able to fix a problem, they should send you a new unit. for me, a year and a half ago, my powerbook sat with them for 3 weeks and they couldn't get any logic boards in. so they replaced my 667 mhz tibook with a 1.5 ghz aluminum powerbook

  • How Interim Meter Reading before Device Replacement is adjusted in Periodic Billing after Replacement without sending Interim Bill Doc. to Customer

    Dear All,
At my Project Consumption is calculated as per Status and Notes Taken,i,e if it is "OK" reading MR is taken Directly for Consumption Periodically and Billed, but according to Logic if Customer MR Status and Notes is DL and AB(Door Lock and Abnormal) we Estimate Consumption according to logic written.
Now i have a problem when ever OK Reading Billing is done before Replacement - consumption of Replacement (Consumption given when Old Device billing related removal) with OK Notes is getting adjusted after replacement, but when estimation billing by DL or AB or Disconnected status Consumption been billed before replacement and after this device is been replaced is not able to adjust Replacement "OK" Reading (Consumption given when Old Device billing related removal) in Next Periodic Billings. So what i found is adjustment is not happening because of Absence of "OK"  MR Billing before Replacement and i asked them to make and Interim Billing so that the consumption should be adjusted before replacement and after replacement there should not be any issue. Now my User is ok with the above idea, but he want Interim Bill Consumption should not be sent to Customer and Interim Bill Consumption should be included in Periodic Billing and Invoice after Replacement is sent to Customer.
Please can any one give me some idea on above scenario.
    Thanks & Regards,
