  • How many movies can a 16G iPad hold

I am thinking of buying an iPad and use it just for playing movies.  So can anyone tell me how much movies does a 16GB iPad hold?

Rudegar, a new, out of the box iPad only has about 13+ GB free space, so you can't install 16 ea 1GB movies. Plus if you use all the available space, you won't be able to install any apps, music or pics.

  • HT4059 When I try to load an ePub book it says out of memory.  How many books can you read at one time?

When I try to load a second book it says out of memory.  How many books can be read at one time?

    Thank you so much...
    1. I don't have that fat format I checked as I saw this on another answer...BUT...you are right the project was very bloated and I made a new project with the sequence and moved a bunch of projects off to an outside drive and things are flying again...this effect "twirl" was on three clips and this seemed to be creating a problem along with it being a bloated project. Don't know why this effect renders easily then the next second doesn't it's on three clips on the entire project and one or another might not render all of a sudden.
    2. I understand what you said about the timeline export...I decided to export the sequence without the matte it was nested in and that sequence did have the chapter markers on the timeline and they again didn't export??? I'll look tomorrow at this it makes no sense if what you're saying is how to do it...the final cut pro book said they should have showed up if I export from the browser and that didn't work either.
    3. I then matted that output and rendered it to output but I am worried this will degrade and compress the sequence more than I want by outputting the same sequence with current settings twice???...the couple of outputs I could make nested looked very good as this was one render...however, I tried doing a quicktime "current settings" with the dvd studio pro info still trying to export chapter markers and maybe it's my imagination but the output didn't look as sharp as just an output with just chapter markers???
    r. I did look at the final cut pro book and it says that mpeg 2 movies will not read chapter markers anyway if you create one in compressor...if this is true it makes no difference if the quicktime output isn't having chapter markers show up. I assume when I go to author though I can put an mpeg 2 movie into dvd studio pro and create chapter markers at that point!! It seems weird it says it can do it with an mpeg 1 but not an mpeg 2 when everyone is using that for dvds.

  • How many images can iPhoto 2.01 hold?

How many images can iPhoto 2.01 hold? What's the maximum.
And why does iPhoto occassionally crash when dragging folders of images into the Album list area?
    thanks,

I have 70,000 RAW images arranged in directories by year/day.  The only thing slow about it is during catalog backup. When first starting LR it takes a couple of minutes to enumerate the dates with photo counts, but that occurs in the background.  I detect no database related slowness while editing or performing random accesses and searches.  I have seen no difference in the above after having upgraded to V4.
The only slowness that I find annoying has nothing to do with the database.  It is after a certain number of spot removals of varying sizes. The larger and/or more varied the spot size tends to accelerate this.  At some point it starts disk thrashing and becomes impossible to work with (I have to back up to a history step when it was running OK, which can take several minutes).  When this occurs the task manager shows a high rate of page faults, meaning it is swapping out stuff to disk (even though I have plenty of unused ram).  This suggests a problem with the compiler, but that is just an wild educated guess.

  • How many songs can a 8gb ipod hold?

How many songs can a 8gb ipod hold?

Are you usingf 128-Kbps AAC format? That is a compressed format.
To use compression go to the Summary pane for the iPod in iTunes and check the box that says convert higher bitrate songs to XX AAC.
XX set at 12k kbps is a good compromise of compression and quality..

  • How many times can you connect ipad to a different computer?

I have an Ipad 1 and when connecting it to my new laptop (not Mac) it told me the device could only be connected one more time to a different computer. Are there limits on Ipads as to how many computers or times we can connect them to? Is there any way to reset this or not?

When it comes to apps, this is right, unless you use the Windows version of iFunBox (the Mac version, not even the latest version, doesn't work for direct IPA transfer). However, you can transfer / sync music / videos from several computers using third-party tools (without jailbreaking!!) with tools like SyncPod / FreeSync.
You may want to read the section "A side remark: put music / videos / other media on your iDevice without iTunes" at http://www.iphonelife.com/blog/87/ios-contact-management-duplicate-removal-impor texport-etc-tips-and-tricks for more info.

  • Ibooks: how many books can you put in it

    Hello,
I have an ipad 1 and since the latest update for ibooks, ibooks keeps loading my books (the wheel in the right corner keeps rolling).
I use the ipad also as storage for all my e-books (i have more than 3000 books). I know E-readers are getting slow if you put too many books on it, but I thought it wouldn't be a problem for an ipad, since there is much more memory and gb on then on an e-reader.
Does anybody knows if there is an limit on the amount of books you can load in ibooks? And if there is a limit, howmay books can you put on the ipad 1 without problems?
    thanks

Unfortunately we must be the only ones with the problem so no hope for us friend unfortunately..
In my case, it's an Ipad 2 , 64G no 3G which worked great.. Now, i don't remember when latest iBooks was updated, but today i realised my iBooks kept on refreshing forever and not showing ANY books.. (((((
I also have many ebooks which is what's common in our cases.. Other than that, I tried everything, turning on off ipad, loading itunes and trying to throw some more books in there just in case, eventually deleting from ipad and installing again from itunes iBooks... NOTHING worked.. Unfortunately..
I'm VERY disappointed since my ipad cost me about 720 euros and the PRIMARY reason i got it was about reading e-books... (on a sidenote when i purchased it I was shocked to see iBooks was not even already bundled in - thought it was a joke)..
Hope someone from apple might read this and help us.. :////////////

  • How many tunes can my itunes library hold?

I do hope this doesn't sound stupid but I'm new at this. today I burned my first cd and I figured out how to copy from a cd I had onto my itunes library. So now I have approximately 20 songs in my itunes library. No small feat for someone who never did this in her life. you guys have been amazing helping me here.
so I am going to buy an ipod. I was told that I will just plug in the ipod and it will automatically put the songs from my itunes library right onto my ipod. Sounds great to me. I also asked a friend "what happens when I download some new stuff from itunes", how can I select stuff (and not the whole library again) and put the newly selected stuff on my ipod and he answered "melody, the ipod will do it automatically, just putting the new songs on there". i said "really?" he laughed and said "yes".
so if I download music, is there a limit to how many songs my itunes library can hold? I know if I buy an ipod nano that it holds 250 songs. But no where can I find out if there is a limit to what the itunes library can hold.
    Thanks much. Melody

Back so soon. I have to be off in a minute it's getting late here but I'll see what I can come up with before I go.
You can pretty much charge your iPod when you like, the battery indicator isn't terribly reliable. The lithium-ion battery doesn't have to be run down flat before you re-charge. Check out the battery FAQ for more detailed information:
    Battery FAQ
Tips and tricks to get the most out of your iPod's battery
    Common Sense IPOD Battery Pointers
About the Battery charge status icon
If your iPod is set to update automatically (that's the default so I suspect that's how yours is) then it will only update if you have made changes to iTunes since the last time you connected. If no changes have been made it will just mount and begin charging. You can also get an separate charger which is useful if you are away from home and can't connect to a PC. It's also useful for charging overnight as you can save on electricity by not having your PC running all the time.
Unless you have changed any settings you probably haven't got your iPod enabled for disk use, however you should always eject it from iTunes before unplugging it, and never unplug it while it is updating and displaying the "do not disconnect message". You will find the "enable disk use" check box when you have the iPod connected to iTunes under Edit>Preferences>iPod if you want to check if it's on or not. If you ever change from automatic to manual updating then the box will be greyed out and ticked by default, in that case use the Safely Remove Hardware icon in the Windows system tray on your desktop or check this link: Safely Disconnect IPod
Just a last bit of info on updating for you:
The iPod offers three ways to transfer music from your computer. You can select one of the following update modes from the iPod Preferences menu in iTunes (Edit=>Preferences=>'iPod' tab):
    1) Automatically update all songs and playlists. This is the default mode, in which your entire music library, including playlists, is automatically synced to your iPod. If the music library on your computer exceeds the iPod storage capacity, you are prompted to select a different update method.
    2) Automatically update selected playlists only. With this option, iTunes automatically copies the playlists you have selected to the iPod when you connect it to the computer.
    3) Manually manage songs and playlists. You can also choose to transfer music to the iPod manually. This allows you to drag and drop individual songs and playlists from iTunes to the iPod.
I hope this makes some sense and is useful to you. Have a good evening and don't get too caught up in the technicalities too soon, take time to enjoy your iPod and read up on the various tutorials. I'm off now, once more, all the best and good luck.

  • How many songs can the ipod shuffle hold

I have about 250 songs and I just need to know how many songs this will hold

The 2GB iPod shuffle should hold about 480 songs (based on 128 kbps AAC files at 4 minutes per song).

  • UCCX 10.5 - How many calls can the CUIC database hold?

I have a 10.5.x 100 user deployment of UCCX (30 user licenses) and was wondering if there is a way to tell how many calls (roughly) it will be able to store before it starts purging old data.  I've found the purge settings (90 months / 80%) but I don't know how to tell how many calls it takes to get to 80% of database capacity.  Has anyone found any documentation on this?
Also, is there a way to tell how large the CUIC database has grown (and what the max size is)?  If I can find these two things out I can make my own calculations.

    Hi Kyle
I hadn't seen it, but knew there must be...
    from CLI:
    show uccx dbserver disk
This appears to show the various informix databases and their files. I'm no Informix expert, but if I apply what I know about database servers generally then I'd interpret it like so:
    - Total Size = The allocated size of the files on disk. i.e. what it can grow to.
    - Free Size = Portion of that file that is unused
    - Filename = You'll be interested in the db_hist.dbs line - the historical DB.
    - Data size = will be total size-free size.
The data will grow into the file, and when it reaches the percent (of total size) set on the purge schedule (or the data in the DB reaches the months threshold) it will get purged out.
    Regards
    Aaron

  • How many photos can the Aperture Library hold ????

Just trying to work out the limits for photos for Aperture ? How many photos do you folks have in your libraries ?
    Cheers Darren

As you get close to 750,000 you begin to run into problems with administrative tasks taking too long.  Repair and Rebuild will take days, not hours.  Upgrading a Library that large is also better measured in days than in hours.  The longest operation I've done took 82 hours.
Because of my time limitations (not the computer's) I did not grow this test Library beyond 750,000 Images, which I consider, as a rule-of-thumb, the practical limit for an Aperture Library running on c. 2014 equipment.  (YMMV — a lot of variables in there.)
Just for some sense of scale, if you looked at each Image in a Library with 750,000 Images for 1 second and never blinked or paused, it would be more than 8 ½ days until you'd "seen" all of them.  (750000 /60 /60 /24, or just put "750000 seconds is how many days?" into Google for an impressive use of their built-in converter.)

  • How many songs can a 2GB nano hold?

My daughter has an ipod mini that holds 1000 songs on it. Her mini and my sons ipod nano are on the same account so they share the same songs. My daughter has 265 songs total and was trying to update my sons nano. When she tryed it said that he didnt have enough room left on his ipod. When i ordered the nano i thought that a 2GB held up 2 500 songs. Am I wrong? If not, why wont 265 songs fit on my sons ipod?

A 2GB iPod nano will hold as many songs and other types of data as will take up 1.8GB. If the iPod is being used to store files or photos, or if the music on it is in AIFF or Apple Lossless format, the actual number of songs which will fit on the iPod may be greatly reduced. In the first case, delete any unnecessary data from the iPod, and in the second, use these instructions to convert the songs to MP3 or AAC format. AAC songs will give you better quality for the same amount of disk space.
