How many categorization of customers possible in oracle.

i.e for single customer we like to categorise it as
1. Domestic
     1.1 Wholesealer
          1.2 - NSW Region.
So in short every customer needs to be configured for three categories. Which fields we can use for the same in customer master.
we know one is customer class. what other fields we can use for wholesealer and NSW Region categorisation,

  • Find how many users are connected in the Oracle Server

    Hi,
I am using Oracle 10g. My question is, is it possible to find how many users are connected in the Oracle Server. We are having one Server and we are having many client machines which will connect the Oracle.
And one more question in the meanwhile i want to take Backup of one database which client as connected. Is it get any problem to the client machine which is accessing the server. And How to take the backup from the server machine. Any commands to process.
    Thank u...!

    Hi there.
    If You run
select count(*) from v$session where username is not null;you'll get the number of users connected to Oracle server,
and yes , you could do backup while users are connect to db you are backing up.
    cheers

  • Script to know how many statements are not loaded in oracle CM

    Hi,
Can some one would help me on how to prepare a script to know the bank statements are not loaded into oracle CM and how many checks under that particular statement are not loaded??
I have the following info with me..
    1. The statements are loaded in a temporary table as soon as we run statement loader program.
    2. Then the records will get into ce_statement_headers_int_all and ce_statement_lines_interface.
    3. Then they will get loaded into ce_statement_headers_all and ce_statement_lines tables.
Now, the only thing i am confused is how to get to know the statements list that are not loaded into oracle along with the error message. i am confused which tables will give the exact info ce_statement_headers_int_all and ce_statement_lines_interface or ce_headers_interface_errors and ce_lines_interface_errors??? immediate help would be highly appreciated and its very urgent...........
    Thanks.

    Hi Helios,
I dint get you. This is not something which SR can be raised. I need to know how script can be written to know the statements that are not loaded in oracle cash management. I need to prepare a notification where in that should contain how many statements have been loaded successfully and how many are not on a daily basis...
    Thanks.

  • How many days can I free trail oracle 11gr2 enterprise

    Hi All,
I have downloaded and installed Oracle 11gR2 Enterprise 64-bit on Windows 7 64-bit operating system. Can someone here tell me how many days can I free to use (free trail) before I need to buy a listence key?
    Thanks in advance!

There is no "+license key+" - nothing as silly as that.
You can use it as long as you want - but only for development purpose. If you run any kind of production on it, then you need to be licensed.
And Oracle has a bunch of pretty mean suit-wearing pirate-eating lawyers. They just got over a billion US dollars in a court of law from SAP, because of their (subsidiary's) illegal use of Oracle software. And they already circling for a second kill - accrued interest on this amount.
By the same token, they will go after you or anyone else violating Oracle licensing. Oracle plays hardball in this respect. Ask SAP. Ask Google (currently being sued). Ask Apache (denied a TCK license) who has now left the Java Process Community council. Ask companies that had been forced into an Oracle s/w audit...

  • How Many User Accounts Are Possible?

I am doing Mac support for a pre-school where they have five Macs, two of which are older iMacs which will only take OS X Panter installs.
We have 37 teachers, about 24-32 of whom will be using them for mail and on a more limited basis, for other things.
They'd like to keep their mail private and I assume other things as well, so my question is: is there a limit to the number of user accounts possible on a Panther machine? I'm guessing we'd eventually like to set up no more than 16 per machine if it's possible to do so without negatively impacting the performance of these iMac 333 computers. They are just barely fast enough to do email, web and word processing etc., so I don't want to slow them down in any way.
. . . and naturally, I won't be setting up fast user switching!
    Any input would be appreciated.
    JoeL

Thanks to Aldo and Niel for your quick responses!
Just as an experiment, to see how much room a raw account takes up, I used the disk utility to monitor disk space used on the OS disk and looked at:
The space used on the drive with one account (the one I have extant).
After having created a 2nd (non admin) account (but not logged in to it yet).
After logging into that account and creating one textedit (one word) document.
After deleting that account immediately (leaving my one account).
After logging out and back in again to my original account.
    The results are as follows:
    Disk Space Used (in Bytes):
    168,212,189,184 one account
168,213,803,008 two accounts (not logged in)
168,213,823,488 two accounts (logged in/one doc)
168,211,394,560 one account (2nd acct deleted immediately)
168,211,451,904 one account (logged out & back in)
There does seem to be a variability of disk space usage even in the act of logging out and back in with no other activities, but the creation of an account seems to take up very little actual space (as I expected) and I assume, with some variability due to the creation of email accounts & etc, that there would be an acceptable difference between 16 teachers using the same account and creating email and documents and 16 teachers creating 16 accounts and creating email and documents.
These computers don't have the power to run fast user switching without a loss of usability, so I tested the time to switch accounts manually and it's less than booting up, so this is probably the best approach.
    Thanks again!

  • How many sessions can run simultaneously in oracle 10g database

    Dear Experts,
    Please tell me .
    Thanks

Going into further details, if you are asking about number of concurrent sessions >that can access a block then it is defined by the INITRANS and MAXTRANS >parameters for the segment (which defaults to 2 for table segment, 1 for index >segment). There is more to say about that ITL slots: for Oracle 9i at least there can only be a maximum of 255 ITL slots whatever the data block size: for small block size, the maximum of ITL slots is about 50% of the data block size and and can be lower than 255.
    See Metalink note:
    Subject: INITRANS relationship with DB_BLOCK_SIZE.
    Doc ID: Note:151473.1 Type: BULLETIN
Last Revision Date: 27-SEP-2006 Status: PUBLISHED
I don't know if this is still valid for Oracle 10g.

  • How many maximum nodes possible in RAC 10g

    Hi,
This is for my knowledge only.
Any idea that how many RAC nodes is possible in 10g maximum.
    Thanks and regards,
    Chitrasen

    Hi Chitrasen :
    From MetaLink:
"How many nodes are supported in a RAC Database?:
With 10g Release 2, we support 100 nodes in a cluster using Oracle Clusterware, and 100 instances in a RAC database. Currently DBCA has a bug where it will not go beyond 63 instances. There is also a documentation bug for the max-instances parameter. With 10g Release 1 the Maximum is 63. In 9i it is platform specific due to the different clusterware support by vendors. See the platform specific FAQ for 9i."
So, for 10g R2, looks like 63... lots more than most sites will ever use, I suspect!

  • How many connection of BW

    Hi gurus,
I have a doubt , how many BW connection is possible for one r/3 source system.
      Thanks

    hi Akash,
check Note 775568 - Two and more BW systems against one OLTP system
    hope this helps.
    Summary
    Symptom
Several BW systems are loading data from an OLTP system: Can problems occur during the delta upload?
    Other terms
Delta request; Delta queue; RSA7; Time stamp
    Reason and Prerequisites
    No documentation exists.
    Solution
This note replaces the documentation where it is not yet available.
The delta queue always supports multiple BW connections to an OLTP system. The DataSources that use the delta queue function to process their deltas are not problematic, even if multiple BW systems send their delta initialization and delta requests in parallel. This affects most OLTP applications, for example, the logistic cockpit, HR, EC-CS, EC-PCA, CRM, SRM, utilities and so on.
    Caution:
The "Several BW systems at one OLTP system" function is not generally supported for the "old" LIS DataSources that are generated on the basis of the LIS information structures. The delta mechanism for these DataSources only provides for one BW system. However, since these DataSources have been almost completely replaced by the cockpit logistics functions, the risk to customers who are just about to plan their BW projects is minimal to non-existent.
However, there is a problem for customers using DataSources with their own time stamp administration.
The problem is restricted to extractors that determine the delta directly via a time stamp during the extraction (for example, CO-OM, FI-AR, FI-AP, FI-GL, CO-PA up to and including PI 2003.1, CFM, CML, generic delta using a time stamp). In this case, currently extracted records are technically sent to the requesting BW on the one hand, and on the other hand, written to the delta queue (RSA7) for a possibly required repeat and even for the deltas of other BW systems. The new time stamp that is then set is used during the extraction for the next delta. If this takes place from a second BW, the process described above is run again, but an additional selection is made according to existing records in the SAPI delta queue that this BW has not yet retrieved. The problem with the second initialization for this type of extractor occurs at this point:
If delta initialization requests run from several BW systems in parallel, the time stamp pointer of the delta administration that is set at the end of the first delta initialization is overwritten by the second one. This may result in data that was already extracted in the delta initialization appearing in the subsequent delta from the first BW system.
The problem occurs with chronologically overlapping delta initialization requests. These problems may also occur with overlapping delta initializations from two BW systems.
With two parallel deltas, duplicate records can appear in the worst cases: If two BWs request delta simultaneously, the time stamps for the upper limit of the selection are taken without the system being aware of the other extraction. However, this is unproblematic as long as the goal is an ODS object with a MOVE update.
To avoid the danger of possible data inconsistencies, complete the Init run from a BW system BEFORE you start an Init or delta run from the other BW system.  That is, check on the monitor that the status of the delta Init request is green before you request an Init request from the other BW system. A lock mechanism is provided for CO-OM and is described in note 736394. The other applications mentioned here are currently working on a permanent and satisfactory solution.

For one thing, see the MAX_RECEIVED_LINES option.
    http://msg.wikidoc.info/index.php/Held_sndopr%2C_id_domain%2C_max_local_received_lines%2C_max_mr_received_lines%2C_max_received_lines%2C_max_total_received_lines%2C_max_x400_received_lines%2C_received_domain%2C_received_version
    >
As the MTA processes a message, it counts the number of Received: header lines in the message's header. If the number of Received: lines exceeds the max_received_lines value, the message is entered into the MTA destination channel queue area in a held state. This check blocks certain kinds of message forwarding loops. The message must be manually moved from the held state for processing to continue. The default for max_received_lines is 50.

  • How many users/ schemas can we create in an oracle database?

How many users can we create in an oracle database? Or how many users can oracle handle?
    Problem-
I have to store information of ontologies (I will use countries instead) in db.
I have to store information regarding countries.
I have 13 tables in all to maintain for each country.
    Now there are two approaches:
    1) keep only 13 tables. Have an extra column in each table to indicate that a particular
row stores information for which country.
    2) create a new user/ schema for each country. So we can get rid of the extra column
    needed in 1st approach.
I have used the second approach. This is because number of entries in each table for a
    given country will be large.
So initially when the s/w is installed I create a central-user. Each time data for new
country has to be entered central-user creates a user/ schema, and creates tables for
this user/ schema. The central user can access the tables of all the countries by
country_name.table_name. By this approach I believe searching would be easy.
If there is any flaw in my approach kindly mention it.
    Thank you

There is no (practical at least) limit to the number of users & schemas you can have in Oracle.
Your approach, however, is not going to scale nearly as well as the first option you outlined (adding a column). You are going to end up caching every possible variation of the various queries you're going to be executing because you will be referring to so many different tables, which is going to mean that you are doing a lot more work to parsing statements and generally churning through the shared pool. If you create enough users, you're liable to start hitting ORA-04030 errors because your shared pool is so fragmented.
Additionally, you're likely going to end up with a whole lot of dynamically generated SQL to accommodate new schemas getting added over time which is going to cause you even more pain. Figuring out dynamically what table to join in is a heck of a lot more difficult for the programmer to write and for the database to handle than simply passing in a different country code.
If you're concerned about having too much data, you can have your cake and eat it to by adding the country column and partitioning the tables based on country.
    Justin
One other item I forgot to mention is maintainability. Having dozens or hundreds of "identical" schemas makes maintenance a huge pain because something like adding a new column now requires dozens or hundreds of separate DDL statements. You're almost guaranteed that some schema isn't going to be in sync-- it's going to miss a column or miss an index, etc.

    Hello Sachin,
    >> how many items are possible in page APEX 3.2 , is there limitation ?
You can render up to 100 APEX item on the page, and that includes hidden items. You can define more than 100 items and use conditions to determine which items will be rendered. (Buttons and other components you mentioned are not included in the 100 count).

  • If I purchase Adobe Standard, how many computers can I install it onto? And is there any way of buy an additional subscription? i.e. if it can only be installed onto two, is it possible to purchase a third installation?

The company I work for are looking to purchase Adobe Standard, how many computers can this be installed onto? We need it on three computers so if it is only possible to install it onto two is it possible to install it onto a third computer without having to buy the software twice?
    Thanks

    Hi There,
We would like to inform you that you can just activate 2 machines with one subscription, however, you can just use one at a time.
If you wish to use the 3 machine, then, you would have to purchase another subscription with a different email address.
You would need another email address, because the activation is done via email address and more than two activation on 1 email is not possible.
Please revert if you need any more information on this.
