How many cores can Adobe Premiere Elements 12 utilise on a CPU?

I am looking into purchasing 1 of 3 different products right now and Elements is one of those with others being competitors. Due to Elements not utilising OpenCL or Cuda increased rendering speed, other software looks like a better solution. However, the ones I am currently looking at only use up to 4 cores. The processor I am looking at is the Intel 4930k 6 core processor, will Elements utilise all cores effectively? Also I have heard Elements runs poorly on Windows 8.0 and 8.1 as compared with 7.* . Is this the case?

This is not Adobe. Just a user to user forum where some of us do not have 6 core processor. to give you a first hand answer and and all of us do not have access to Adobe Engineering support documents that are not typically seen online. Interesting, it looks like a new format for the old link. But, let us see how effective it is with this new format.
Premiere Elements 12 should be able to use 4 cores. Probably 6 cores for encoding, but I cannot give you the definite answer.
Supported devices | Adobe Premiere Elements
I can tell you first hand, Premiere Elements 12/12.1 runs well on Windows 7 Professional SP1 64 bit, Windows 8 64 bit, and Windows 8.1 64 bit.
And these computer are using dual core processors.

  • How many computers can I use Elements 12 on?

I purchased Photoshop Elements 12 in the box. I have Elements 8 on my computers. Should I uninstall Elements 8 or will the Elements 12 install take care of it? Also, how many computers can I install Elements 12 on?

    Ho Ktown,
You can use Elements 12 along with Elements 8 and they can coexist. As per the EULA you can install the Software on 2 Machine but can use on 1 Machine at a time.

  • Can Adobe Premiere Elements 12 burn a dual layer dvd disk?  If not, which of the components is at fault?

When I spoke to a person about upgrading from Premiere Elements 10 to 12, I specifically asked if the program could burn DUAL LAYER 8.5 dvds and I was told that it could.  That is the ONLY reason that I upgraded.  Since recording in full HD the files are larger.  I video plays for local theaters. I have been trying to burn a disk that is 7.5GB (2 hours 15 minutes).  I bought RIDATA -RDL 4x 8.5GB disks.  Then had a dual layer burner installed in my computer.  Premiere Element dialog "incompatible disk" The RITDATA says the problem is Adobe, the Geek Squad says the problem is Adobe.
SO ANSWER THIS QUESTION: Can Adobe Premiere Elements 12 burn a dual layer dvd disk?  If not, which of the components is at fault?  I am trying to burn 18 copies of this video (no copyright infringements) and don't tell me to to divide it into 3 disks.

Can Adobe Premiere Elements 12 burn a dual layer dvd disk?
    Short answer: Yes.
What are you burning to DVD disc - DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc or AVCHD format on DVD?
Does your DVD CD burner support double layer single sided discs?
Premiere Elements is supposed to (been there and done that....)
    1. burn to Folder (8.5) for Publish+Share/Disc/DVD and Publish+Share/Disc/AVCHD
(you take the VIDEO_TS for the former and BDMV Folder in the latter to a program like ImgBurn
for the actual burn to the DVD double layer single sided disc)
    2. burn to disc 8.5 GB/240 minutes
Have you gone the burn to folder Folder (8.5 GB) route?
Have you tried another brand of disc in spite of by the disc manufacturer and the Geek Squad are telling you?
A double layer single sided disc is labelled 8.5 GB/240 minutes. In reality, that 8.5 GB is 7.95 GB. Where are you
coming up with 7.5 GB for your disc? Was that due to typing glitch?
Please review and consider. Any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

  • How do I install Adobe Premiere Elements when I get this error message...?

I have bought the DVD bundle of Adobe Premiere Elements and Photoshop. They both come on a single DVD. When I attemp to install Premiere I get the error message... "This installation package is not supported by this processor type. Contact your product vendor".
My laptop is an Acer Aspire 5536, AMD Athlon, 64 x 2 dual-core, 2.1 GHz. I bought it in 2009 and it runs with Vista.
Is my laptop too old or not powerfull enough? Or is there a problem with Vista? Please help.

Your problem with the Premiere Elements 11 download blows the following question away, but I will ask it anyway.
If you purchased the bundled Photoshop Elements 10 Premiere Elements 10, how many discs did you receive. It should have been five. And, with Windows Vista 32 bit and Premiere Elements 10 in the equation, you should have been using the disc labelled 1 of 5. Was all of that the case?
What service pack do you have for your Windows Vista 32 bit? And, do you know if your laptop's processor has SSE2 support?

  • How to download my Adobe Premiere Elements 8

About two years ago I recieved an adobe package in connection with the use of my Video camcorder Sony Elegria. It worked well on my old computer, which I have just exchanged for anothger one. Now the system refuses to accept downloading the Adobe Premiere elements 8, saying that it is corrupted (perhaps). How to proceed without having to purchase a new version. I was quite satisfied with the version 8 and would appreciate your help so I can continue benefitting from your product.
    thank you in advance
    Kristian Laubjerg

Adobe doesn't have legacy versions avialable. You will have to find another source. As a minor, check the discs on another computer and if it works there, copy the files onto an USB stick or similar and use that as an install source...

  • How many cores can FCP take advantage of?

I'm currently on a Core 2 Duo processor and FCP seems to range in about the 150-170% (according to my activity monitor) when timeline rendering. Can it do more/go faster with a processor with more cores? Or, is there a limit to how many cores the software can actually use?
Same question for Compressor... which, I believe I've read somewhere, can take advantage of at least 8 cores.

Thanks, Red... I really appreciate your response.
yeah, I think I'm clear on core vs. processor (I have one processor with two cores). I'm using a cluster to rope both of my cores into maxing out for Compressor.
Both of my cores appear to be working during a FCP timeline render (going to about 150-175% combined). I guess my original question was, is that about as good as FCP gets, regardless of the amount of cores and/or processors? The thought that prompted me to ask this question is, if FCP is capable of utilizing more cores, why isn't it currently pegging at closer to 190%, like my 2-core cluster does when I'm using Compressor?
Since I'm hearing that FCP isn't mult-processor capable, if I had a quad core, single processor would my timeline renders be going faster? Or, again, is FCP maxing out its capabilities with just my two cores?
    Thanks all.

  • How do i install adobe premiere elements 12 onto laptop without a cd drive

Hi I am needing help installing Premiere Elements 12 onto my new laptop without a CD Drive.

    longhorn
What computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 12 going to run on? After you install 12, please do not forget to install the 12.1 Update using an opened project's Help Menu/Update.
An external DVD CD burner is relatively inexpensive and could be a worthwhile addition to your computer resources as n2deep suggests.
If you have any problems with the download of installation files as per John's suggested route, please consider the following web site as the source
    http://prodesigntools.com/photoshop-elements-12-direct-download-links-premiere.html
Major thought for this route, you need to read and carry out carefully the "Note: Very Important Instructions" on the web page in order to avoid an Access Denied message.
These are Adobe tryout files into which you can insert your purchased serial number during installation.
Please review and consider and then, when you have the time, update us on your progress.
    Thank you.

  • Can Adobe Premiere Elements accept asf files?

I'm having trouble importing .asf video files into APE.  Is this an unacceptable file format?

    bang surgical
Thank you. That is good news of sorts.
MotionJPEG video compression is often problematic for Premiere Elements (any version).
When it does present a problem, there are several popular remedies
    a. If video was recorded with camera, then determine if there is a utility that came with the camera
and install it to get the required codec.
    b. Download and install a MotionJPEG codec. The Morgan MotionJPEG codec has been used
successfully by many over the years. Sources of MotionJPEG may be available online.
    Morgan Multimedia - News
    c. Conversion of the MotionJPEG.asp to another format. You might want to start with
    HandBrake
    http://handbrake.fr/
in order to obtain a H.264.mp4 file.
Please review and consider the above and then we can try to sort out which would be best for your
    projects.
    Thank you.

  • How do I use Adobe Premiere Elements 8?

How do I use this software?

    notatex
Download and save the Premiere Elements 8 Help PDF to your computer hard drive.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-elements/archive.html
That is your quickest route to comprehensive video editing information specific to your version of interest. It is an excellent starting resource.
Often the principles of these versions are the same, but the features have a tendency to be moved, replaced, or discontinued from version to version. As I always write, it is very frustrating in those instances to be armed with principles when you cannot find a feature. Forums are great to fill in the gaps if that becomes necessary.
The keys to success with Premiere Elements 8 require
    a. Download and install of the Premiere Elements 8.0.1 update
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4653
The program is essentially unmanageable without it.
The only evidence of its install is a message at the end of the install stating that the update has been successfully installed. Adobe leaves no "8.0.1" anywhere to be found after that update.
    Essentials of the program include:
    1. Making sure that the automatic background rendering is turned OFF in Edit Menu/Preferences/General. The 8.0.1 Update should do that for you, but check nonetheless.
    2. Making sure that the AutoAnalyzer options in the Elements Organizer are turned OFF. See Edit Menu/Preferences/AutoAnalyzer Options in the Elements Organizer that comes with Premiere Elements 8. My major encounter in that regard with the feature was its making unwanted stacks of my video clips after it decided on its own to split the clips.
    3. Making sure that the GPU option in preferences is set appropriate for your video card. See Edit Menu/Preferences/General and the Enable GPU Playback option there.
And, even if you have a high level resource computer, remember that Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1 is a 32 bit application running in the 32 bit comparability mode of a 64 bit system and as such has the liabilities of 32 bit, namely, maximum supported installed RAM = 4.0 GB (3.0 GB or less are typically available).
Once setup, I have found the program to be a fine and stable performer.

  • How many PCs can I install elements on?

I'm looking for the EULA for Photoshop Elements.  Trying to figure out if I can install this on my PC and my tablet or if I have to purchase two copies?  Thanks.

Yes, you may install PSE on two machines (both should be Windows or both MAC). Here's a thread which talks in detail about how to- https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1083824

  • How do I fix Adobe Premiere Elements 11?

Keep getting LoadLibrary failed with error 126 in Adobe Premiere.  Piece of junk.

Fair enough, however, I will start by saying that I have not had any problems with any other software I have ever loaded on any of my computers over the past 20+ years.  I think Adobe needs to spend some time figuring out their own house and stop pushing junk on the consumer.
With all that said:  here are my details.  Lenovo IdeaPad Y470p Laptop, Windows 7, 64bit, AMD Radeon HD 7690M Graphics Card.
Any help will be much appreciated.  I am at my wits end and have been reading and trying to follow instructions I have found on many other threads.  Seems like a fairly common problem that you think Adobe would be aware of.

  • How do I keep Adobe Premiere Elements 11 from crashing during the rendering process?

I have already published a video, but I had to go in and make some images and texts clearer. I didn't add anything, I just changed them. Now the program will only render to 84% and them an error message pops up and asks me if I want to send a report or not. No matter what I choose, it still shuts the whole program down. I will try to re-open the program with the same file and it will just shut off. I have to restart my computer just to get back in the program. Why is it doing this and is there anything I do to fix it, in light of re-making my video?

Try doing a Save As and renamed your video. Then render your output. This will keep your new render files from "bumping into" your old render files.
If that doesn't work, please provide more information about your system.
What operating system are you using? How fast is processor and how much RAM do you have? How much free, clean, defragmented space is on your hard drive?
What model of camcorder is your video coming from and what format and resolution is it? Did you use Premiere Elements to get the video from your camcorder to your computer?
What Publish & Share option are you using to output your video?

  • How many computers can I install Elements on?

I recently purchased the Costco special edition of Elements 13. I currently have a PC laptop but am getting a Mac for Christmas. My question is can I install Elements on my computer now and then also install it on my new computer when I get it?
    Thanks!

As long as you bought a boxed version, yes. You can have two activated installations of PSE. For the boxed versions that can be two macs, two windows computers, or one of each, but downloads are usually limited to two computers on the same platform.
