How many CPU% does system use normally?

Hi experts!
for some reason my MAC Pro fan started to run very loud and system running very slow.
I tried to reset SMC by holding shift+control+option+power key, and restart). but the Mac still running slow ( takes more than 1 min to start up) and fan still runs loud. some suggested to check Activity monitor to see if CPU/memory is over-use, and my mac system is using up to 79% of CPU.
does mac pro system using up to 79% of CPU be normal? howto solve the loud running fan ?

A Mac Pro will not use that much CPU when idle, no. But there could be applications or background processes that are perfectly legitimate that in some circumstances would and that might be launching on bootup. What processes show in Activity Monitor that are using the CPU? If you can tell us, we can probably then offer a diagnosis and suggestions. If you have OS X 10.8 or earlier, you'll want to be sure you select to show all processes so you see everything running.

I'm looking at the upcoming Mac Pro refresh and am trying to figure out what Mac Pro will best run photoshop. Does Photoshop only use 2 cores max?? I assume the top of the line would be the fastest, but what config gives the best bang for the buck?
Also, how does the scratch disk work? Should I get a drive dedicated to that function only, or can I use the same drive I boot from? SSD?

How many CPU cores can PS use?

How many CPU cores can Photoshop CC (version 14.1) use at a max running on Mac OS X Mavericks? I have even looked into the PS tech specs but it only states multicore. Many thanks.

I am wondering if CC has been further optimised for multi core, because AFAICR these results show more CPU use than the last time I bothered to check. That would probably have been with CS6

If memory serves, the lens blur filters made good use of system resources. This was with Iris Blur
I tried a few other filters on the 10k pixel image, but couldn't test my system enough to get a meaningful result. I can hear my GPU fans ramp up with various actions even before I put them to serious use. (I think the system starts working really early in the process.)
I am assuming that Apple OS are similar to Windows. Was there a specific reason you wanted this info, or just out of interest?

You must have some idea of the throughput of your system.
If you are going to be using tons of I/O, then CPU might be
irrelevant, but you'd damn sure want the disk (array)(s) to
be up to scratch,
on the other hand,
if you are going to be doing lots of calculating/processing, then
your CPU might be critical.
It's a question only you can really answer.
Post a more detailled spec here, along with a budget*
and you may receive more assistance.

There is no limit, as long as you pay for the licenses and make sure you have a robust system to support user connectivity and demand.
Hyperion Enterprise is the previous Consolidation tool most commonly used by many companies. Think of HFM as the "New Generation"....

Can anyone explain what this means? (text below) If I make a form in LiveCycle Designer and then I extend it so that other users can fill it out...Does that mean that only 500 people can use the form?
If so, then...I am dumbfounded and disappointed.
What must be purchased in order to allow more than 500 people to use an extended form?

There are two parts to your question, even though one is implicit.
Question 1 (implicit): Can I have an unlimited number of people fill in and submit the data for a form?
Answer 1: Yes. Reader has always allowed an unlimited number of people fill in a form as part of a web transaction and submit the results. And, there have always been an unlimited number of times that someone can store the form (with no data filled in) on local systems or media or print the form.
Question 2: Then what is the 500 user limit referred to with the reader extensions talking about?
Answer 2: Reader Extensions is a capability enabled by the LiveCycle Reader Extensions server, or Acrobat (in the limited cases you quote from the EULA) to let a user save a form on a local system with data filled into it. You can read more about it on the product page; the number of forms or recipients are part of the terms of the server license. Acrobat Pro can reader-extend a subset of the capabilities of the server product (only local form data save, signatures and commenting; not pdf spawn pages, web services or ODBC data access) and it only allows the 500 users in the two cases in the EULA for form data save.
To make this more clear, consider two cases... a form that is not reader-extended (RE) and one that is.
Not RE: You can get a form from a website, fill it in, and then submit the data by HTTP or email. However, if you save the form on your local system, the form that is saved is the blank form without the data.
RE:You can get a form from a website, fill it in, and then submit the data by HTTP or email. But also, the user can save a copy of his form with the data filled in for his archival purposes. They can also start filling out the form, save it locally, come back and work on the data later, save again, and then finally submit. The submit can be done by the same HTTP or email methods as above or the user can even choose to send the entire form back and have the werver process extract the data. (If you choose to reader extend through Acrobat, this use case is subject to the EULA limitations).

I need to do an interface between legacy system and SAP ECC, the legacy systems have a DB so i use the jdbc adapter (sender) and receive the information to SAP ECC with proxy, so i need to activate the polling option from my jdbc adapter working as a sender, i read a table with lot of records, and i need to know how many records does jdbc adapter support when the polling is executed, because is necessary read all records from the table and change the status of the processed field.
Is possible to get all the records from that table in one polling interval (50,000 records aprox)?, or i need to do the polling by blocks of records until finish all records from the table?, the second option, i dont have idea how can i do it.

How many times can I use a Windows 7 disc in Bootcamp?

Hello,
I want to install Windows 7 on my Macbook Pro via Bootcamp, but I am wondering how many times I can use the Windows Install disc. Currently, I have one MacBook Pro, and in the near future, I will be getting an iMac. Now I want to be able to create a Windows partition for each of these computers, but I am wondering if I will be able to use the same Windows Install disc, or activation keys, or whatever. So can I use a single Windows Install disc on two different computers to create two fully-functioning Bootcamp partitions?

yes an activation pair the serial nr with a guid from the hardware one install it on so it can only be activated 1 time
(if ones computer dies then one have to call ms to be able to use the serial on a new computer)
if one does not activate windows it will stop working after 30 days or so

clintonfrombirmingham is right, there is no way to exactly tell. But from personal experience, a new battery on a 2008 will last for about 2 1/2 hours with a higher screen brightness and doing something taxing to the battery (like gaming or running lots of 3D programs). But if you're just listening to music with the brightness all the way down, and no programs running, you could get up to 12 hours. So for average use, it should last you a whole business day (assuming you don't use it more than 30% 0f the time). Hope this kind of gives you more of an idea of what to expect:)
