Ed...maybe a little less time gaming and a bit more time in English class? They got this thing called punctuation and sentences now. Last things first; there is no amount of money that can change your GPU so you can scratch that expense off the list. So you need a battery and a fan? Where do you live? USA? We can help you find a battery but where did you plan to have the new fan put in?

  • How many downloads do you get?

I have two computers. If I buy illustator, how many downloads do you get? Can I download it to both of my computers?

Yes, you can load it on two computers as long as they are not in use concurrently.

There is this link to an Adobe Press Release in 2010 http://www.adobe.com/aboutadobe/pressroom/pressreleases/201002/021810PS20Anniversary.html and there are also 2 contacts listed there that you may be able to contact to get some information. Maybe even NAPP could help.
About the center of the press release is this quote:
"Over its 20-year history, Photoshop has evolved significantly from a simple original display program to a wildly popular application that has over 10 million users worldwide."

  • How many downloads has my App had?

I can't seem to find out how many downloads my app in the App Store has. Anybody else have this problem?

No official numbers, but you can make estimates from available data.
If you post your application on versiontracker, they will count the number times your app is downloaded *through their site.*
    http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/iphone/35317
Then multiply that number by 100 or 1000 to guestimate how many total sales from iTunes you're getting.
Alternately, medialets.com has tried to figure our revenue based on the number of reviews your application has gotten. They seem to think each review equals roughly 1500 downloads. Statistically this is total BS; comparing review #'s to the published sales ranking shows that review #'s vary wildly.
    http://www.medialets.com/blog/2008/07/14/revenue-from-app-store-activity/
You can also watch the "most popular" charts on itunes to see if your app is in there; no way to translate that into $$ though.

  • How many downloads are you hoping/expecting for your app?

I've seen a thread regarding develoers wanting to find out how many downloads their apps have had.
I'm in the early stages of developing my own app but wondered what expectations other developers have for their own apps?
in terms of a percentage of all iPhone users, what percentage would you be hoping to download your app?
I can't remember the stats for how many iPhone users there are - lets say 5million (if someone knows more accurate figure then please update).
Is it safe to assume a minimum percentage of 0.001% on average?
This is very low I think but even so would yeild 5000 downloads.
I just wondered how the rest of you are working out your expectations?
    Cheers
    Wayne

I think any app in the top 100 has gotten thousands of downloads at this point. However, not every app in the store is going to get that many; it depends greatly on your audience size, and your audience size is not all iphone users.
The audience for a game is all users that like *that type* of game - players of crosswords and sudoku will not necessarily buy a shoot-em-up game, and vice versa. An application that shows movie listings has a broad audience, but a birdwatching or insect identification app has a narrow audience. That's why niche apps will have higher prices - the audience is smaller, so each customer will have to pay more.
So - if you find a broad audience, or a niche audience that is willing to pay, you will get thousands of downloads every month. If you create an app with little or no audience, or create a clone in an area with too much competition, you'll still get a few downloads, but not enough to quit your day job.
I'm counting downloads on linktracker.com, and multiplying by 100. I consider that a lowball estimate of my total downloads, but it's far exceeded my expectations. Apparently even a pet rock will make enough money to pay the rent.

  • ?? About how many downloads the apps are getting

If anyone can help, it would be appreciated. Either first hand knowledge or information you have heard or read would be fine.
I am doing market research and wonder how many application/game downloads are really occuring in the App Store/iTunes for iPhones/iPod Touch devices. I know how many total downloads they have (200 million), but any only concerned with Paid Apps/Games. So if anyone can answer these questions or share some light, thanks
    1) How many of the 200 million downloads are from paid apps
    2) Does anyone know how many paid downloads it takes to take the #1 spot daily, #10 spot, #25 spot, and #50 spot
    3) How many apps/games have you paid for, and how many free ones have you downloaded.
    Thanks again.

In order to download the application twice, is there a certain fee or I have the priveledge of downloading the app in 3 devices just like Microsoft office?
    I appreciate the help.

  • HT1657 Can one know how many downloads a movie on iTunes got?

Just curious if there is a counter or other means to know how may times a movie has been downloaded.

That information would be available only to the company who owns and provided the movie.
    Regards.

  • How many downloads for 3 computers?

If I currently have 3 computers on 10.6 can I upgrade them to 10.7 with a single 4gb download and then copying the file or do I have to do 3x4gb of downloading? What do I need to pay?

Upgrading to OS X 10.7 FAQ
Backup your user files and folders manually (drag and drop) from all partitions/OS's installed to a external powered drive and disconnect this drive, before proceeding in addition to TimeMachine, Bootable Clones etc.
You need to make sure you're running the latest version of Snow Leopard10.6.8
Click the "Apple" symbol in the top left corner of your screen and select "About This Mac."
Make sure you're running version 10.6.8.
If not, click "Software Update" from the same Apple menu and update your system.
Then when that's finished launch the MacAppStore from the same menu.
You'll see the giant Lion banner across the top. Click on it.
This brings you to the app page for Lion. It costs $29.99 -- click the price, then click "Buy App."
    Free Lion? check here

You'll be prompted to sign in with your iTunes ID. After that, yourdownload / upgrade begins.

(there are reports of hacking Lion to work on 32 bit Intel Core DuoMac's, it's unsupported by Apple and not advised)
    Didn't get Lion?
These are user to user support forums and Apple doesn't respond here,
We users can't speak for Apple about your free Lion status or problems downloading, reissuing a download.
It's possible Apple could be spacing out the downloads as not to knock theservers offline. So be patient.
If after a week or so when the initial rush is over, and you still haven't gotten your Lion, I suggest you contact Apple.
    Mission critical
If your using Mac's in a mission critical type environment or have third party hardware or software you must rely upon working correctly. It's advised to wait until all the bugs, driver updates, third party software and other issues are resolved before upgrading. This might take several months. Then if you do so, do one machine at a time andcarefully test everything before full deployment.
