How many external monitors can I support with 13" rMBP (late 2012)?

Device has two DisplayPorts and each is powering an external display properly. It also has an HDMI port. Can I connect a third monitor here?

I got my new 13" Retina in the other day (late 2013 model ME865LL/A)
I was all excited to see if the two Thunderbolt 2 outputs and the HDMI output would work together, but plugging in the HDMI output knocked out one of the Thunderbolt outputs, so what I read was right, the 13" model will only power two external monitors.  Before I got this I kept reading over and over how it wasn't possible, but that was dealing with the Late '12 or the Early '13 models, I was hoping that the upgraded video card on the newest Haswell versions may be different, but alas, not to be....
But I did implement a work around as I have a Matrox Triple Head 2 Go DP Edition for my old Macbook and what that does is make my two Lenovo 22" widescreens look like one big 3840x1200 monitor to it's host (tricking the MB to thinking "hey, this is one monitor"), so this allows me to use one Thunderbolt output to power these two monitors and then I am using an HDMI --> DVI cable to power an HP 23" widescreen monitor I also have running at full resolution, all this in addition to the Laptop display as well:
Here is a quick 20 second video of all monitors playing video....   the one on the left in the middle row was staggering but that is more a problem with AMC's website more than anything, I never get good stream speeds from their site

I just installed iStat 4 an hour ago and am showing CPU temps around 150 degrees, not really sure what "normal" is or what is acceptable......  I'm going to keep tabs on what the temps are as I finish up my workday here (another 6 hours to go)
I still want to re-arrangle things so i only have two levels of screens to deal with, but still formulating that setup with my desk

I have two external 22" LCD. Can the new i7 Macbook Pro run both of these?

Yes, (assuming the minidisplay port is as capable as on the earlier models) but you will need additional hardware.

  • How many screen monitors can I use with late 2009 Mac Mini?

hey guys. I have a Mac mini from late 2009 that is connected with 2 screen monitors, and I was wondering if I can add another one through one of the usb ports? If so, can I use a usb to vga adapter to plug it in? thanks for any answers!

You can add multiple USB monitors or USB video adapters, but realize that USB video is usually quite a bit slower than "normal" video cards.  So don't display Youtube or other moving video on the USB device.  Me personally, I have a Mimo 7" USB monitor and I have my calendar displayed on that.
You can also get the Matrox DualHead2Go or TripleHead2Go to add more monitors to a single video port.  It has much better performance than a USB video adapter, but of course costs quite a bit more.

how many apple tv can I connect with one account?

there are 2 recent posts that suggest issues over 5, one where someone was trying to troubleshoot for a friend or client as they couldn't keep more than 5 connected, and the other where somone had more than 5 but was using 2 separate itunes libraries to share the load - not sure if that was with the same or differing AppleIDs.
I guess there is always the possibility that things kight vary from one itunes version to the next even unintentionally to allow more.

  • How many airport express can be supported by software remote at one time.

how many airport express can be supported by software remote at one time?
I mean remote software can control at one time

Well Apple makes an iOS application called 'Remote' it's used to control iTunes on a Mac, Or to control an Apple TV Multimedia features.
Apple also makes "AirPort Utility" for iOS. Airport Utility can be used to configure Aiport Extrem, Airport Express And Time Capsul using an iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch. You can use it to connect to one device at a time. While connected to the device you can configure it to work as part of a larger Airport network. If you want to configure muliple device, you would connect to one device,  configure it,  And then connect to the next device, and configure it, and so on and so fourth.
    I haven't found a limit.
How big of a network are you trying to make?

  • How many 7920 phones can be supported on one Cisco 1131AG access point?

    hi all,
who knows that how many 7920 phones can be supported on one 1131ag AP? Thanks a lot...

    Hi Alomar,
    Hopefully this info will help;
Number of 802.11b Phones per AP
Before any discussion about network planning can take place, it helps to understand the basics of the overall network capacity.
The following network capacity guidelines apply to sizing the Wireless IP Telephony network:
No more than 7 concurrent G.711 calls per AP.
No more than 8 concurrent G.729 calls per AP.
Note These design recommendations assume that Voice Activity Detection (VAD) has been disabled on the Cisco 7920 Wireless IP Phones. Use of VAD on the Cisco 7920 phones can conserve bandwidth, but Cisco recommends that you disable VAD on all Cisco CallManager servers to provide better overall voice quality.
In addition to determining how much bandwidth is needed for an 802.11b VoIP call, you must also consider overall radio contention for a particular RF channel. The general rule is that you should not deploy any more than 20 to 25 802.11b endpoints per AP. The more endpoints you add to an AP, the more you reduce the amount of overall bandwidth and potentially increase transmission delays.
The maximum number of phones per AP depends on the calling patterns of individual users (based on Erlang ratios). Cisco recommends no more than 7 concurrent calls using G.711 or 8 concurrent calls using G.729. Beyond that number of calls, when excessive background data is present, the voice quality of all calls becomes unacceptable.

  • How many video chats can you use with this server?

I am looking to develop a multi-video chat app that's easy to
build. Can I use Stratus with this? Or do I need to use FMS.

none of the video streams will pass through Stratus. Stratus
only enables end-to-end streams. You are limited only by the amount
of bandwidth the client ends have as far as how many different
    streams can be flowing.
if you need to relay streams through a server (the to-many
case, or the end-to-end is blocked by firewalls or certain NAT
configurations cases), you'll need to use FMS.

  • How many ATV2's can I use with home sharing at once?

I am installing a fairly large home network. I have 10 ATV2's I would like to use on 1 network using home share, all will be connected via ethernet. Is there a limit to how many atv2's I can have connection one itunes account with home share or a limit using the remote app?

It used to be a limit of about 5 AppleTVs per iTunes library with AppleTV 1 but that registered them as devices rather than using Home Sharing.
I suspect but don't know for sure that Home Sharing has to be more liberal as Home Sharing now works to portable devices like iPads too, and if the household had a couple of AppleTV2's, iPhoness and iPads they could reach 5 very quickly.
Having said that we just don't know.  There is a limit of sharing to 5 computers with Home Sharing, so it's possible the same applies to individual device types, we just don't seem to know from the support docs posted.
Personally I'd be surprised if 5 was the limit as under the old system if you ran out of 'Devices' in itunes you could set up another computer for the next 5 and so forth.  Home Sharing on the other hand just shares to a particular account so you'd see all libraries shared from a particular account on all AppleTVs.

  • How many different iPods can I sync with my single iMac user/iTunes account?

    Good Day to All,
Can anyone tell me how many different iPods & iPhones can I successfully consistently sync/integrate using my one "user account" in iTunes on my iMac? This ist situation:
I have always (and only) synced etc. my iPhone with my one iTunes UID which is under my ONE "User Account" on my  iMac. Recently, my elderly folks gave me 2 iPods they have never used. One is a little silver 4GB shuffle (the little guy with a built on "belt clip" & it verbally tells you what song and artist is playing. The other is also an iPod shuffle ( only 1GB), also has the metal "pinch to open; belt clip"; also no display, however it came with a little USB Dock and THIS ONE has all of the user controls on the face of it in a circular patter of course..
To have COMPLETE successful "interaction/integration/syncing" etc (with no issues/complications etc) with my iTunes currently and previously only used with my iPhone, do I have to create two new additional "User Login/accounts" on my iMac (one for each iPod) to have all three if my devices work perfectly fine, or can I just use my same iMac login (UID) & iTunes that I use with my iPhone and have no worries?
(ie: I created my girlfriend her own iMac login UID which she has always used for backing up/syncing etc her iPhone with HER iTunes library etc)
In short, does iTunes have the ability to have multiple iPods & my iPhone under my one existing iTunes account AND using the same single iMac login/UID I've always used with my iPhone?
Obviously, I know I could create an iMac login for my mom's, another for my dad's & create them both their individual iTunes accounts, but they really don't want to have to worry about dealing with all that. I'm teetering between just treating them as my iPods and mixing/adding their limited CD's into my library (again, if iTunes allows multiple iPods etc as explained above..
OR; my other thought would be (again, if one iTunes account can integrate the two iPods as seperate devices and to just create ONE iMac UID login and ONE iTunes account under my dad's name, and use that one account for both of their music, both of their iPods, importing their CD's into the same iTunes library, then when syncing etc. just doing selective transfers/sync's of the specific music for each iPod... Even then, will iTunes be able to differentiate the two as far as backups/restored etc? I think  answering my own question as I type due to the cloud... For completely individual cloud interaction/integration, I would def need to create each of them their own iTunes accounts, otherwise they will have all of each other's songs on their devices.. (ie: And my dad def doesn't want to worry about skipping over my mom's Journey or Aerosmith tunes to get to his Willie Nelson and vice versa for example.
(Sorry sooooo drawn out; thinking outloud) I guess it seems obvious that since all their digital music has to be on my iMac, I really should create them each their own iMac UID login as well as their own individual iTunes Acounts to insure cloud services work easily for restores/backups etc...
Thanks for stumbling thru my thought processes here (if I didn't lose ya long ago); I'm exhausted and throwing thoughts at the classroom board to see what sticks.... The best easiest way that is.. (The two aren't always the same obviously!)
Thank you all for your precious time and consideration and most if all; YOUR PATIENCE!! Any confirmation if the options and suggestions are greatly appreciated. You know, gotta take care of the folks & what is the simplest for them as just end users is the most important or they'll NEVER bother with them in the end...
    Respectfully appreciative,
    DB

You can use as many iPods with one iTunes library as you want.

  • How many client computers can you control with the $79.99 version on Mac App Store?

I mean client computers by the ones you control, not by the admin computers.

    From: http://www.apple.com/remotedesktop/
    No Per-Client Tax
Apple Remote Desktop 3 is incredibly affordable. With the Unlimited Managed Systems edition, you can manage any number of client computers — there is no per-client charge.
Apple's website says Unlimited Managed Systems, There are probable some technical limit, but i've never found it. How many client computers do you want to manage, are they all on the same lan? same subnet?

  • T430u: How many external displays can it handle?

I want to get a new computer, that can power three displays at once. Preferably three external monitors,  maybe even four.
I was thinking of getting either an ultrabook, T430u or X1 Carbon. Or a think branded desktop.
Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

ThinkPad T430u can handle one internal, one through hdmi, and one through miniDP. So in 3 in total (natively). If you need additional LCD support, maybe consider an ThinkPad USB 3.0 dock, which allows you to add another 2 screens support per dock (for a total of 2 docks or 4 additional screens).
X1 can can handle one miniDP external screen, not sure whether Displayport 1.2 passthrough works on them or not.

    plus 1000 pc
it will exceed two thousand command line
how many capacity does 7507 have
    tks

    Hi,
i found this in the CCO:
    Handling Large Configurations
The largest size nonvolatile random-access memory (NVRAM) planned for the Cisco 7500 series routers is 128 KB. The maximum number of nailing commands that can be stored in a 128 KB NVRAM is approximately 4000. However, large configurations may map as many as 10,000 IP addresses to LUs.
To maintain a configuration file that exceeds 128 KB there are two alternatives. The configuration file can be stored compressed in NVRAM. Or, the configuration file can be stored in Flash memory that is either internal Flash or on a PCMCIA card.

  • How many concurrent requests can WAS support?

    Hi all,
I want to know what is the maximum number of concurrent users/requests that can WAS6.4(latest pack) support? We are looking at around 40,000 concurrent users.. Is this feasible? If yes what is the max possible?
    Regards,
    Harsh
PS: Would appreciate a prompt response:)

    Hi Harsh,
I was just reading those notes that Alexander found as well and I would have to agree with him the that webdispatcher could handle the 10,000. However you have to remember that if you are running a BSP or other application located on a WAS server you have the constraints there as well.
Now I've just done some load testing with some stress tools.
500 concurrent connections on a Linux server dual processor 4 GB RAM and I started to see some major performance problems. Any higher and the system or at least the apps would have started to hang I think.
So with 40,000 connections even with loadbalancing and application instances you are going to need some major hadware to handle the connections.
Now back to your other questions.
The WAS and the R/3 are built on the BC level, which means  the basic connections are made at that level and effected by these parameters. With a 640 Java Stack only then you have the J2EE engine only in which case the BC level is basically not there at least not like the ABAP level.
Now if you have a single JSP page deployed on your J2EE and not making any RFC calls to your backend then you only have to worry about the dispatcher connections. However, from my understanding if you make those RFC calls then you have the connections of the backend to worry about as well.
Now if you can gives a bit more detail of what the connections (all these 40,000 are doing) then perhaps we can come up with some alternatives that will help out.
As for being intimidated, don't be, I'm learning this from searching as we go along as well
