That is the one I have and it has only one fan. I have had it apart. Here is a picture I took of it inside:

This is one of the simplest, cleanest laptops I have seen inside since the very first Mac laptops like the PB-145, PB-180.

  • How many fans does a macbook pro have if it runs windows 7 and Mac OS X

i just recieved my mac for christmas it runs great! it runs Mac OS X but also i can run windows 7 operating system... anyway i downloaded a fan control app to try to keep it cooler and it shows that one of my fans isnt spinning is this a broken fan or normal with 2 OS?

    Hello,
I did so and it shows up one FAN. Now how can i know from your anwser if it only has one or it has two and one of them is broke and not showing up ... .
I found the answer by the way on youtube and the manual shows a a diagram of the inside (not mentioned though):
I thought I would share it with everybody: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T161ICl3mDM
This info would have been handy on the system info data sheet.

  • How many fans does the Macbook Pro late 2011 15 inch have?

I've been using my mac for about two years and always took it to maintanance. I want to know if this model has two fans or only one. I use an application called
smcfancontroller which tells me there is two fans however the left fan is the only one that works.

Here are tear-downs you can count them yourself, and possibly repair them if broken:

  • How many dvd has a macbook pro

How many DVD disk has a Mac Book Pro, ihad two macs, one mac book and one MacBook Pro.
How to know wich set of dvd´s belong to each one?

If I remember correctly, there is some fine print on the dvd which tells you to which model it belongs. Recent models don't have dvd's anymore.

  • How many hours should the macbook pro 2013 battery last

so i hve this new macbook pro 2013 and its 15 inches ive been taking care of it i keep the brightness low but comfortable, anything i dont need such as bluetooth is off but when i first bought it it lasted 8 hours now it lasts for 4-5 hours is that bad or good and can someone tell me how i can take care of it in a better way?

you might have something running in the background - open activity monitor and check the %CPU section under All Processes and not My Processes.  Anything running around 10% and above will drain your battery.

  • How Many Fans Should My Macbook Have?

Possibly a silly question, but I've got a copy of smcFanControl running and it's only displaying one fan (the space for Fan 2 on the program is just displaying 0rpm and cannot be adjusted). I have a 14inch macbook (1.83 GHz Intel Core Duo). The computer does tend to get a little hot, am I was beginning to wonder whether one fan was broken.
    Thanks.

One fan is all the macbook has.

  • How many bits does my macbook pro retina have

I am trying to download anti-virus program but it requires me to know if my Mac is 32 bit or 64 bit and I honestly have no idea. Can someone please help?

Macs are 64-bit. But you may wish to skip AV software. It's really not needed.

  • How many fans does a MacBook have?

Must be pretty amusing for most of you, but this is my first mac and the Fan utility (installed by me, forgot the name ... something smcXXXX ...) from the Control Panel (sorry, long time Windows user) is reporting Fan 1 with some normal value, and Fan 2 with a -1 value.
So, in case the thing has 2 fans ... what can I do?
    Thanks!
    Cristian.

Glad I could help. Thanks for the star.

  • I have a MacBook Pro 15" mid 2010.  My battery has 326 cycles.  It is not lasting more than 1 hr and a few minutes before needing a charge.  How many cycles should it have?

I have a MacBook Pro 15" mid 2010 that was purchased in summer of 2010.  My battery has used 326 cyles.  Is this normal for these batteries after two years?  How many cycles should I expect to get out of it before getting a new one?  Also, it only last about 1 hour plus about 30 minutes before needing to be charged again.

The battery is considered a 'consumable' item by Apple - I know that newer models (not sure about 2010's) are supposed to 'last' to about 1,000 cycle counts. But it all depends on how you've used (or abused) your battery as to how long it's going to last. I've 182 cycles on my 8 month old MBP and my battery 'health' is at 98%: I can still get a good 6 1/2 hours out of it...
...if you want more battery time, you're just going to have to buy a new battery or, if you purchased AppleCare, see if Apple will replace it gratis. I doubt that they will, though...

  • HT4279 I have a Macbook Pro (late 2012) and I would like to connect it to 2 screens simultaneously (1 screen is a TV and can only take HDMI, the other is a larger computer screen and has both VGA and HDMI connections). How can I do this?

I have a Macbook Pro (late 2012) and I would like to connect it to 2 screens simultaneously (1 screen is a TV and can only take HDMI, the other is a larger computer screen and has both VGA and HDMI connections). How can I do this?

The article you cited refers to The Mac Pro, a 50lb silver tower -- not a notebook computer.
    Everymac.com says:
    2nd Display Support:
    Dual/Mirroring*
    2nd Max. Resolution:
    2560x1600 (x2*)
    Details:
*This model supports a simultaneous maximum resolution up to 2560x1600 on two external displays via Thunderbolt. Alternately, it can support a single display up to 2560x1600 via Thunderbolt and a single display up to 1920x1200 via HDMI. Although it can theoretically power all three external displays, as confirmed by a helpful reader, it runs too hot with three displays connected.
Also see: How many external displays can the Retina Display MacBook Pro models support? What is the maximum supported resolution of each? Are adapters required?
When using other than ThunderBolt displays, the ThunderBolt port is directly compatible with Mini DisplayPort, and can be forced into compatibility (with Single-Link DVI or HDMI up to 1920 wide) with a simple adapter.
To adapt to wider displays, an ACTIVE Dual-Link adapter is needed, about US$100.

If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Enter "BOOT_TIME" (without the quotes) in the search box. Note the timestamps of those log messages, which refer to the times when the system was booted. Now clear the search box and scroll back in the log to the last boot time when you had the problem. Select the messages logged after the boot, during the time something abnormal was happening. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
For example, if the problem is a slow startup taking three minutes, post the messages timestamped within three minutes after the boot time, not before. Please include the BOOT_TIME message at the beginning of the log extract.
If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
    Step 2
Still in Console, look under System Diagnostic Reports for crash or panic logs, and post the entire contents of the most recent one, if any. In the interest of privacy, I suggest you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if present (it may not be.) Please don’t post shutdownStall, spin, or hang logs — they're very long and not helpful.

  • HT201257 Fan on my MacBook Pro came on and will not turn off, what could be wrong or how do I fix?

The fan on my MacBook Pro came on out of no where and will not turn off. The computer is not heated nor are any applications running in the background. The seems to be going on full blast. Before now it worked fine. Would turn on or off when need. Please advice what could be wrong or if ther is anything I can do to fix or troubleshoot. Computer is not even a year old.

LexSchellings: Now I know why you wished me luck and hoped everything would clear up asap hehe. I've been doing some reading and it is quite possible that my MBP late 2011 is sadly part of the probably million of MBP's out there with logic board issues. I am glad I am under warranty (still have to wait and see what apple techs decide on my comp) and sad that my comp will probably be done with in a few years. Not even 4 as it turns out. I can honestly say my old iBook G4 was amazing gave me 8 great years. Never had an issue with it.
Something funny is that about 10 to 15 mins ago the fan on my comp (the only indicator I got of any issue going on) quite down and the comp was working perfect. It has been running really slow since I noticed the fan being over worked even if nothing is running. Then it started up again and once again quite down, functioned well for like 10 seconds and started being noisy and slow again.
However there is an issue that bugs me, if according to my AHT results it is a faulty logic board how come my comp is still functioning? Of course being slow and noisy. I've read on some sad stories on here
Wish me more luck and send me lots of good vives. Going to need them. Especially if I end up not being able to fix the comp.
Apple is letting me down and to think I just purchased an iPad mini for xmas :/

Enter the name of the crashed application or process in the Filter text field. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.

Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
    Step 2
In the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports (not "Diagnostic and Usage Messages") for crash reports related to the crashed process. The report name starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report and post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot. I know the report is long. Please post all of it anyway.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful.
