How many GB would I need for an iPad being a college student

I am a college student who would like to purchase an iPad so I don't have to take my Macbook/textbooks to class with me all the time. I will be putting textbooks, class notes, an a few apps on it. How many GB would you suggest?

As many as you can afford. Data always seems to have the ability to expand to the size of the storage.

  • How many sessions would I need for BBP?

    Hi friends,
I am going to work on preparing a BBP document for Benefits implementation. Could you please guide me on how many sessions of workshops would I be needing for different components of Benefits module? I need to prepare presentations for each session. So, it would be great if you could also help me in dividing the module components into different sessions.
I have to perform these activities for PA and OM modules as well.
Your guidance would be a great help for me.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Sanjay.
P.S. - Appropriate points will be awarded.

    Hi,
Preparation of blue print comes after you gather all the requirements, discuss the gaps with the clients. Gathering the requirements and mapping them to SAP will be done in series of workshops. You may have two workshops for each module and two workshops to discuss integration requirements. Once you are clear on the requirements and the Gaps, plan for a workshop on initial draft blue print discussion. This discussion would be for the design and content of the BBP. Later one workshop to present the complete blueprint to the client whci would include all the main stakeholders of all the modules. Later small changes can be made with individual discussions and go for sign off.
If you are particular abut the number of sessions, it depends on the complexity of business requirements. If the requirements are many and complex in nature, you need more sesions to understand the scenarios completely. Once you are clear with the AS IS and TO BE, preparation of BBP will become an easier task.

  • I have a presentation to make to a customer and need to know how many educational apps are there for the iPad/iPod?

I have a presentation to make to a customer and need to know how many educational apps are there for the iPad/iPod? More specifically special education apps.
    Thanks

Keep in mind as well that not all apps are "created equal".  Some are really good, and others are not very good.  You might also want to look at some education sites for recommendations.  An example of a general iPads in education forum is
    http://ipadeducators.ning.com/
but I imagine some exist for special education needs as well.  Our healthcare organization is using some apps for working with autistic children and find them very helpful.

  • How many channels should i need for my 10 pieces of thermocouple?

1.i need test 10 pieces of thermocouples at one time,so how many channels do i need? are 8 channels enough(SCXI-1112) of i must use 32 channel(SCXI-1102)?
2.I only need test 3 LVDT signals and 3 strain guage signal(must full bridge),do you have 4 channels' LVDT module and 4 channels' Strain/bridge module(full bridge)?
3.if i hug all these sensors to the signal conditioning, does that mean my DAQ should have at least 16 Analog inputs, beside do you have 12-bit DAQ?

    dittoit,
    1. If you need to measure 10 thermocouples, then you will need at least that many differential channels. So the 1102 would be best.
    2. The current LVDT module we offer is the 1540 which has 8 Channels as does the 1520 which is the best strain gauge module.
    3. The measurements from the SCXI Chassis will normally be multiplexed to one channel on the DAQ card. Any of our E-Series (except the Basic DAQ) will control. Our E-Series card can be either 12-bit or 16-bit.

  • How many gigs will I need for a LG G3 phone?

I just purchased a G3 phone. I only signed up for 1/2 gig of data because I will only be using the phone for talking and occasional texting. I won't use the internet at all. (And won't be using any apps, email or anything.)  Somebody advised me that 1/2 gig will not be enough -- that I will need 2 gigs -- even if I'm not using internet. They said that data is constantly being used, every time I use the phone. Is this true?  Will I need to update to 2 gigs?  Any opinions or advice on this will be greatly appreciated.  Thank You.

I'm confused as to why you would upgrade to a smartphone with no intention to use the Internet features. There are many wonderful apps out there that keep you informed (most newspapers, radio stations, tv stations have apps), help you keep track of your personal finances (credit cards, bank accounts, etc), navagation apps (no need for a separate gps anymore!), share files, etc.  Even fun things like Shazam, where you hear a song and you just need to know who's performing it!
1 GB should be fine for light users. I use Chrome a lot and watch some videos, plus I am always reading the newspapers online and checking twitter, instagram, etc.  I have trouble connecting to Xfinity wifi hotspots with my G3, and I am not constantly around places that offer wifi.
Just make sure you have the phone set to only update apps over wifi.  And restrict background data on apps as well.  That should eliminate a lot of phantom/unnecessary data usage.
I use about 5GB a month.  People on unlimited plans who are streaming lots of music and video and transferring files can use hundreds of GBs a month.
Have fun with your new phone!  Check out Google Play and download some apps.  You can always turn mobile data on and off from the settings menu as you like.

  • How i can determinate how many cores would be necessary for my virtual servers

    Hello friends
i have a question.  Exists a mechanism for determinate how many cores my virtual machine needs in an optimal way.  A formula? a counter? a microsoft sheet?
I have my virtual machines on HYPER - V 2012 CORE MODE.
    Greetings
    Aleds

That depends on the workload you intend to run on any given VM.
For example, if you're planning a SQL 2014 VM, consult the
SQL 2014 hardware requirements guidelines. It suggests a maximum of 4-64 cores depending on the guest OS version.
Another example, is when planning an Exchange 2013 VM. Again
check the application hardware requirements and configure your VM accordingly.
The application hardware requirements may also steer you towards using hyper-threading or not.
Finally, bear in mind that application hardware requirements guidelines are simply initial planning tools. Actual CPU requirements will vary significantly from environment to environment depending on many factors such as data size, and other networking and
storage details that affect CPU utilization. For example, using RDMA capable NICs can greatly reduce your CPU load, whether they're used for networking or storage/iSCSI. You should plan on monitoring CPU load on each VM and adjust CPU allocation as needed.

  • How many ssl modules are needed for a redundant configuration?

Hi, apologies but I can't seem to find a definite answer for this question. I have two css 11506's set up using vip/virtual interface redundancy (active/standby). Each css 11506 has a single ssl module.
Is this adequate for ssl redundancy? I've read in this forum that if an ssl module fails, the css will reboot causing failover to the standby css so ssl connections will simply reset and as long as I have ASR set up on the back end http content, users will not notice the failover.
Am I correct in this thinking or do you recommend using two ssl modules in each css? Thinking there is that if one ssl module fails, there will still be a 2nd module to handle ssl traffic and the css's will not failover.
    Thanks
    -Dan

there is no need for 2 modules.
You would use 2 modules if you need more power [handle more connections].
    However, your assumption is incorrect.
Nowadays, there is no device in the worl [cisco and non-cisco] that can do SSL ststeful failover.
In other words, upon failure, all SSL users will have to restart their connection.

  • How many hard drives are needed for optimizing Premiere Pro performance?

My work just setup a Mac Pro with a 250 gig ssd and Premiere Pro CC, After Effects CC. I can only hookup external drives with the Mac Pro. What is the minimum number of drives needed for video, audio previews etc...

Note the real-world sustained transfer rates on externals ... eSATA definitely a HUGE preference over USB3.
Hmmm ... surely they can spring for a second internal? One of the other options that would be spendier but fast for having all your material on "one" drive is a RAID of SSD drives, but needs to be large ones. Even just a second internal HDD and an external eSATA would be a big uptick over a single drive.

  • How can I know how many processors do I need for a new SQL Server machine?

My company intend to buy a new server and will dedicate that for SQL Server which will serve an in-house developed application.
How can we know how many processors are enough to buy?
I know that each SQL Server edition and version has it's different limitation of the number of processors it can support, for example SQL Server 2012 Standard Edition can support up to 4 sockets or 16 cores per SQL Server Instance, but this does not mean
that I have to buy 4 physical CPUs. two could be enough. how can I know?

  • How many portal roles are needed for multi-country ESS?

we are implementing ESS for multiple countries.
has anybody tried to use one portal role for all countries?
the new ESS business package comes with one ESS portal role that has content for all countries. I was wondering if we can use this role as-is (after making a copy of course) to present content for all countries, instead of creating one portal role for each country.

did you have to enter the PCD path to the country-specific iView?
In that path you associate any resource to a Portal Page. Just change the PCD Path for custom Pages only.
Only the services are "country-specific" (because they have assigned a MOLGA). Follow the path from my previous answer to add any country-specific app.
the standard installation does not have the PCD path populated, it has the name WebDynpro application component instead
This is common issue. Depending on how the installation/upgrade was performed, the resources table is populated or not. But if is not populated, the "URLof PCD Page" property is taken from client 000. In my last implementation, i expected this issue, but i not populate manually this property and everything works fine.

Only one participant is required to have Skype premium, in the group video conference.
That said, it is best if all particpants are on the latest version of Skype.
A new version has just been released September 13th, 2011:
Please download/install this version from here, when prompted click the open or run button: http://download.skype.com/SkypeSetup.exe

  • CSS with SSL module - how many certs do we need

    Hello,
currently moving from server-based certs to CSS/SSL based.
We have two sites, two CSS/SSL on each in ASR mode.
There are two real servers behind each SSL rule for load balancing.
The question becomes how many certificates do we need
    for such design ?
For sure we need one per site, then on each site we have Active/Standby CSS's.
Do we need separate certificate for each CSS?
I dont think so, cause only one is active at the time.
I tested it with same certificate on both CSS's on one site, no problem.
The question is will it be ok for production ?
So total number would be 2 cert for such design (one per VIP) if we have one SSL rule per site, and 4 if we have 2 SSL rule per site - is it ok ?
    Thank you,
    Alex

the certificate is linked to a host name ie: www.mycompany.com.
So, if you have 4 css, all handling traffic for www.mycompany.com, then they can all share the same certificate.
Even if you have the 4 CSS split over 2 sites, using different vip, as long as they handle the same hostname, then they can share the certificate.
Actually, the CSS itself does not care about hostname/certificate mapping.
The CSS will use whatever certificate you configure it to use.
However, browsers make a check url <-> certificate and if there is a mismatch, they pop up an error message.
    Regards,
    Gilles.

  • How many ports do I need to open for Java InfoView? - CR Server 2008 v1

    Hi,
We are using Crystal Reports 2008 V1 (BuildVersion=12.1.0.114.CRS2008_V1). CMS runs on Oracle 10g. The product I need help for is InfoView.
The report server is behind a firewall. I would like to know how many ports do I need to open and what they are so that I can access to InfoView (Java Version) from internet.
The client's IT blocks all ports, except HTTP 80 and HTTPS 443. Is it possible to configure InfoView to run on port 443? Would one port be enough? Port 80 is being used by another application.
I would appreciate any light to be shed on this issue.
    Thanks,
    Sinan

InfoView will just need a single port. However CR Server 2008 has additional component who interact. I believe that CR Server 2008 doesn't allow a distributed installation so then the only port that should be opened on the firewall is to reach the web application and from the application server towards the database server hosting the CMS database.
    Hope this helps...

Dear all, i need help that in how many days can i prepare for my OCP DB track, i have already prepared for SQL paper rest now i have started to prepare for Administrator-I, and Administrator-II exam... and which book is best to follow
    thanks in advance.

How good is your memory? If you just want to pass the exam for the sake of passing it then you could cram all the information in there. I'd argue that even someone who wasn't a DBA would be able to learn to pass these exams if they studied hard to to remember all the answers - they are multiple choice after all.
Practice some [url http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mnemonic]Mnemonics to remember certaing parts, I can't remember which ones...
But, seriously, as the others have said it depends where you are starting from in terms of knowledge/experience and how much time you can spare to learning it. There might be small or big gaps in your knowledge when you start looking through the books.
And remember that the best certification is good quality real world experience. The certifications help to show that you are willing to learn and develop your skills and that you can learn. I don't believe they show you can actually do the job.
    Good luck!

  • Planning my 1st Certification. How many months prepation usually needed ?

I'm making my Internship on DB Analysis and Optimization with both Oracle and XQX Server.
I'm considering aquiring a relevant certification also.
I'm considering one of the bellow
    SQL Certified Expert
    Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate
Oracle Certified Expert, Oracle Database 11g Release 2 SQL Tuning
How many months would someone usually need to study the concepts to be ready for one of those ? 3 months of intensive are ok or maybe too few ?
Of course I have basic backgroung of SQL and I practice it every day at work.
If I study just from relevant Books guided from the fields of the sample questions its ok, or I have to attend the lessons also?
My special concept is I dont want to aquire it with a "Lesson Logic", it has to reflect the professional ability.
So I want reaching a level that when I'll go to the exam it will be just typical and a 80%-100% will be granted.
    Thank You

SQL Expert exam gets down into levels of familiarity with SQL that most people who work with SQL seldom experience. You can work with SQL every day for years and never use ROLLUP or CUBE or regular expressions.
On the exam they deliberately mangle SQL statements, making them difficult to read, using strange syntax variants and so on. SQL Experts should be able to parse through any SQL statement, no matter how badly written, and be able to determine what the results will be. This is not always easy because it is possible to write some really bad SQL that still executes.
Do I believe it is possible to learn enough to pass the exam in 3-6 months? Certainly. Can I state that for any specific individual that 3-6 months will be sufficient? No, I cannot. I don't know how much time they will allocate, where there starting skill is, or how fast they learn. Adding in the qualifier about being a true expert rather than a paper expert simply makes the question harder to answer. The best way to become truly expert at SQL is to write lots of complex SQL on a daily basis.Thats indeed a concern of my too. The arguement that you will full the misty areas of SQL just by reading them and a sandbox practice 5-10 times, without actually experiencing them to work, its very relative.
The only you coul allow yourself freely to say its "it will be better from nothing - leaving them misty areas"
    matthew_morris wrote:
A couple of jobs back, I had the task of writing a PL/SQL package that developed SQL based on a given set of parameters. The application was for the medical indiustry and the queries used medical history of patients to look for problems. The SQL generated was sometimes huge, combining demographic data about the patients with doctors visits, medications, surgeries and so forth to find problems. The queries would have things like: If the patient is between 40 and 65 and has had this surgery and has taken that medication within the past three months but not this medication in the last eight months, and has had two doctors visits of this class within the past year then return them. My package ended up writing code that was faster than what the DBAs had previously written by hand and formatted so that it was easy to read. Doing work like this is the absolutely best way to become expert at SQL (and in that case PL/SQL as well). Studying SQL by reading books and practicing examples, not matter how earnestly, isn't really the same thing.
What studying for certifications in technologies you do not have significant experience does best (in my opinion) is to reduce the time required to become expert if you do start using that technology. Many years ago, I became one of the first Oracle Certified Forms developers. I had not done any real development with Forms when I passed the exams. However, just a few months after becoming certified, my position changed and I needed to develop a Forms application. Because of what I'd learned while studying for the certification, I was able to rapidly jump in and develop the application requested. Likewise, whatever information you learn studying for the SQL Expert exam will give you a bank of knowledge that you can draw on in writing better SQL going forward.Thats what I want to hope too. That my Internship on Oracle SQL Analysis/Optimization PLUS some Oracle Certification, will be much better, for my skills/experience and my next day worth as CV and Potential Employee :
+"He did his Internship on Oracle SQL Analysis/Optimization and he also cared and proved it with a Certification"+
Please allow me 2 last questions
*1.* I also had borrowed the 782 guide "OCA Oracle DB SQL Certified Expert Exam Guide". It says still its just for the exams need and not enough for the concepts, so I guess I will have to use it as a 1st level source for your Summary, but not reside to it completely, instead seeking support for the concepts on internet or other resources. But even Oracle SQL references/Bibles are around 800 pages the same. How much can it miss?
*2.* Can learning "deeply" Oracle DBMS through her certs will make it easier to learn SQL Server too since it will feel much easier then. This is logic "Master the difficult level, then the easy will be nothing to master if not mastered already" Of course its 2 different things, but both DBMS and SQL Server is know to be much simplier. We support SQL Server too at Work
    P.S.
