How many hours do I have to charge my iphone 5 for the first time?

i just bought an iphone 5 and I want to know how many hours do i have to charge it in the first charge. Thanks you very much for all your answers.

You don't need to charge it unless you want to or it needs it.  You can and should charge as often and as long as possible... deep discharges are hard on lithium batteries.  Normal mobile use will result in the one charge cycle/month that Apple recommends.

  • For who long do i have to charge my iphone for the first time

can some one help me with thsi

It doesn't matter. You can start using the phone right away as long as it has charge on it. Lithium ion batteries have no requirements to be charged completlely or drained completely. You can also leave the device on the charger even after it has reached full charge.

how long do I have to charge my ipad for the first time?

Most iPad come wit a 60-70% charge. You can use it immediately and then charge at your convenience.
    FYI
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. Hi kamfong,
    Went to Settings where?
If you want to use your exisiting Apple ID on your iPad, you need to:
    1.     Go to Settings>iTunes & App Store and sign out the new ID, and then sign on the old one
    2.     Go to Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom and delete the iCloud account, and the sign back onto iCloud using the old ID
You still have not indindated why you are saying that using your old ID originally "didn't work". What do you mean by that? Did you get some sort of error when you tried to sign on with your exisiting Apple ID?

  • HT204053 If I have an apple ID for myself and my wife has just got a iPhone for the first time how can she get the same apps as I have for my iPhone and iPad

If I have an apple ID for myself and my wife has just got a iPhone for the first time how can she get the same apps as I have for my iPhone and iPad by getting it off my iCloud?

She can't from iCloud without setting up your iCloud account on her phone. But just sync the same apps from your iTunes Library on your computer to her phone.
Your wife should setup her own iCloud account - which is separate to the iTunes Store accounts.

  • HT4859 How long should it take to back up iphone for the first time with about 6 gigs?

How long should it take to back up iphone for the first time with about 6 gigs?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
The first back up to iCloud may take some considerable time. Just how long isn't really possible to say without knowing how much is in your back up and your connection speed.
What many people don't realise is that upload speeds are often significantly less than download speeds, so for example a user may have a download speed of 40 Mbps, but only 1 Mbps for uploading. As a rough guide it will take around 2 ¼ hours to upload 1 GB of data at 1 Mbps.

  • I connected my iphone for the first time to itunes and lost everything. How can I recover my data?

I connected my iphone for the first time to my itunes. It didnt have any backup or anything saved on icloud. As soon as i plugged it in, on itunes it asked if I wanted to restore, or backup, my ipod to my iphone or something (I dont remember) and I clicked yes. I thought that it was syncing music, and apps that i had on my ipod but instead it made my iPhone 4s into a copy of my ipod touch from the last time i synced my ipod (august 2012) now i have lost all of my contacts, pictures, messages, calls, emails and everything else I had on my iphone... is there any way that I can recover anything and get it how it used to be before all of this happened? i did not save anything on the computer or on itunes backup...

Sorry saker, but if you have not backed up your data anywhere, and you told the computer, in essence to clear the data and restore it with your iPod data, then you are pretty much out of luck....
    Cheers,

  • HOW MANY HOURS DID YOU CHARGE YOUR iPHONE FOR THE 1ST TIME OUT OF THE BOX?

    As the title says.
And how soon does the battery start to finish when watching YouTube after a FULL CHARGE?
I can watch abt 3 or 4 videos (between 2 to 10 mins long each) + searching youtube for a minute or two before I notice the FULL BATTERY starts to drain :S
So in total lets say after 15 minutes my battery starts to go down.
Is that normal? or is something wrong with my battery?

I provide you a link yesterday with this and other information about the battery which answers this question so here it is again.
    http://www.apple.com/batteries/
+Lithium-ion batteries pack in a higher power density than nickel-based batteries. This gives you a longer battery life in a lighter package, as lithium is the lightest metal. *You can also recharge a lithium-ion battery whenever convenient, without the full charge or discharge cycle necessary to keep nickel-based batteries at peak performance.*+
Charging an iPhone battery for 15 hours doesn't accomplish anything. After the battery reaches 80%, it reverts to a trickle charge for the remaining and when at 100%, charging stops. Charging can't go past 100%.

  • I may have to carry a balance, for the first time ever

I have never carried a balance on my credit cards before (other than two accidental late payments, one in 2008 and one in 2009). I had to take my boyfriend to the emergency room on two occaisions a couple of weeks ago, and today, we got the bills (insert scary music here). As soon as I saw the bills, I called the hospital, knowing that they have a discounted rate if you pay your full balance soon after the date of the bill. I was able to score a 25% discount, but had to pay it then. I put it on my Discover It card, which has a 0% promo interest rate for a while (since I just got the card in April). I could have paid it out of my emergency fund, but I thought it would be just as easy to do it this way. What do you guys think? Boyfriend will just make the payments to me and I will pay off the balance as he pays me. I know it will get paid, since we have lived together for nearly a decade and he has never not paid me back for anything, but I am still a little unsettled about carrying a balance. I assume I will see a drop in scores temporarily for utilization. Can I expect any other side affects from this?

    Annipoo wrote:
I assume I will see a drop in scores temporarily for utilization. Can I expect any other side affects from this?It mainly depends on the impact to your utilization though there may be a small hit for having a balance report on a card that was previously not reporting a blaance.  That said, unless you were paying the card down to 0 prior to report date it was reporting a balance even if you were paying in full.  Payments made after the report date but by the due date do not reduce the reported balance since the balance had already reported. You can do the utilization math to see how much your overall and individual utilization would change but we can't tell you that you'd see an impact of X points. You'll lose your grace period but if you have 0% on purchases that doesn't matter.  If you were subject to interest you'd have to deal with residual interest even after paying it off.  However, neither of those directly affect score.  The impact would be to utilization.  "Utilization has no memory" is quite often stated here but bucketing is possible and it does happen to some.  It's not "memory" per se but it does mean that it can take a little while for the reduction in utilization to show its effect. Annipoo wrote:
I could have paid it in cash, but I thought, why take money out of savings (where it is earning interest) when I could put it on Discover for 0% and also get the 2% cash back? Was my reasoning wrong?Nope.  Your savings is probably not accruing that much interest but it's more than the 0% you'd be charged on your Discover and it's probably less than the 2% you'd get with charging it on Discover.  If you didn't have 0% then it would probably make more sense to rely on a liquid cash reserve.
