How many hours of video does it hold?

does anyone know how many hours of video the ipod can hold?
thanks

I once asked a salesperson how much video an 80GB hard drive holds and he answered "80GB worth" -- meaning it depends on how much you compress the video.
I'm using Handbrake (on the Mac) to compress DVDs to MP4 to playback on the iPod and with the settings I am using (decent quality at smallest file size) a 2hr movie takes up around 600MB of space.
Hope this helps.

  • How many hours of video do I get with 4GB or more on a memory card?

I'm going on a vacation for four days and I'm assuming I'll be recording around an hour each day. How many GB's should I look for in a memory card? I thought there would be some easy to find standards on this, but I guess I have to consider fps and possibly other factors like the type of camcorder or memory card. More specifically, I'm interested in the Kodak - Pocket Video Camera which records in HD, if I purchased an 8 GB memory card and recorded at 30 fps, would this suffice?

@ Cdy291, that's helpful, but I can't find where you found that info on their site, so I can look up similar information like how many minutes I get to a GB, recording in VGA mode...
@ Entropy, 2 hours on a 16GB card that costs from 80 to 100 dollars is just riduculous to me, I want a decent looking video, but I'm not filming a wedding or anything. Really, I just want as much video time for each MB as possible without quality suffering too, too bad. I'm curious about the standard recording quality that you mentioned, I figured HD is the new "standard" and most camcorders record in HD. The camcorder I'm interested in records in VGA as well which is supposably 480x640 pixel resolution, I'm wondering if this would be considered standard definition? If VGA isn't that bad in quality, I'm still trying to figure out if I can get away with buying an 8GB card and have more than 2 hours and 40 mintues in HD 30 fps.
VGA is standard definition.  You'll get a lot more time out of it.
Also, flash memory is currently $30-40 per 16GB card, not 80-100, depending on brand and speed rating.  (The Transcend Class 6 cards I use in my HF100 currently sell for $40, and I'm looking at a Kingston Class 4 card for $30.)
Given the choice between a "cheap" HD camcorder and using it in SD mode (like some of the pocket units) and a "good" SD camcorder, I'd go with the good SD camcorder, like a Canon FS200 or one of Panasonic's flash memory camcorders.
Canon makes excellent units but unfortunately their FS series only offers electronic image stabilization, not optical image stabilization.  For a standard def unit you may want to go with Panny.

  • HELP! How many hours of HD video.....

How many hours of HD video can I record on a Mini iPad w 16GB???? Not to be a downer, but I want to document my grandfather who is not doing so well, and I think the iPad mini cam is probably the best HD cam I can get my hands on, but I only have 16GB....HOWEVER, all songs and pics are wiped out...nothing else on it...
Any and all advisor help is greatly appreciated!!!!! I have been searching the web and keep getting different answers, so, hoping to get some clarity via this post....
    Thanks!!!!

If you regularly dump and shoot you should be okay. One way to test, set it up right now and record the tv for an hour (or something equally benign)
then you'll have an idea of how much room it takes and how much it drains your battery (note the battery percentage before you start)
you can then use that to budget your resources accordingly.

  • How many hours does a brand new battery last after fully charged. I have a late 2008 Macbook Pro.

How many hours does a brand new battery last after fully charged. I have a late 2008 Macbook Pro.

clintonfrombirmingham is right, there is no way to exactly tell. But from personal experience, a new battery on a 2008 will last for about 2 1/2 hours with a higher screen brightness and doing something taxing to the battery (like gaming or running lots of 3D programs). But if you're just listening to music with the brightness all the way down, and no programs running, you could get up to 12 hours. So for average use, it should last you a whole business day (assuming you don't use it more than 30% 0f the time). Hope this kind of gives you more of an idea of what to expect:)

  • How many minutes of video will the 64 gb hold

i was wondering how many minutes of video and or how many pictures the 64 gb iPad 2 will hold?

depending on what else you have on the iPad, up to about 63gb's worth.
how many depends entirely on the size of the files

  • Does anyone know the battery life (how many hours)of new ipod nano 7th gen while using bluetooth?

Hoping to find out the battery life of the new nano (7th generation) while using bluetooth.  Has anyone found out how many hours the new one gets with BT?
I have the 6th generation nano, and while using bluetooth it only makes about 3 hours before being fully drained.

About 9 hours continuous runtime with BT + music playback in this review at least - http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/reviews/entry/apple-ipod-nano-seventh-generatio n/P5

  • Do we have any manual to see how many hours we can use Iphone

I reached out to Apple store last saturday regarding many issues with my phone. The only answer i got from the "Apple Genius" was How many hours you will use mobile daily, i answered 120-150mins a day including calls, browsing, &whatsapp. However after that, the direct answer was your usage is too high and you should reduce using your mobile. He just restored my mobile and asked me to leave. Again from last night i am experiencing the same issues in my phone.

There's not an actual manual but if you go to http://www.apple.com/iphone/compare/ you will see that Apple advertises the iPhone 5s as getting "Up to 10 hours" talk time on 3G, "Up to 8 hours on 3G, up to 10 hours on LTE, up to 10 hours on Wi-Fi" for internet use, "Up to 10 hours" for video playback, and "Up to 40 hours" for audio playback. Of course over time will
If what you are saying is accurate that you are only using the iPhone for 2-2.5 hours a day, that doesn't seem to fall in line with "heavy use." I use my iPhone almost constantly throughout the day for email, browsing, phone calls, texting, games, etc. With my previous iPhone 5 I had problems with constantly having to reboot it and I went to the Apple Store, the genius ran a diagnostic app on it and said there would be no problem replacing it just based on app crashes. So really the big question will be is your iPhone still covered under a full warranty and are you able to reproduce any of the problems at a genius bar appointment?

  • How many images can iPhoto 2.01 hold?

How many images can iPhoto 2.01 hold? What's the maximum.
And why does iPhoto occassionally crash when dragging folders of images into the Album list area?
    thanks,

I have 70,000 RAW images arranged in directories by year/day.  The only thing slow about it is during catalog backup. When first starting LR it takes a couple of minutes to enumerate the dates with photo counts, but that occurs in the background.  I detect no database related slowness while editing or performing random accesses and searches.  I have seen no difference in the above after having upgraded to V4.
The only slowness that I find annoying has nothing to do with the database.  It is after a certain number of spot removals of varying sizes. The larger and/or more varied the spot size tends to accelerate this.  At some point it starts disk thrashing and becomes impossible to work with (I have to back up to a history step when it was running OK, which can take several minutes).  When this occurs the task manager shows a high rate of page faults, meaning it is swapping out stuff to disk (even though I have plenty of unused ram).  This suggests a problem with the compiler, but that is just an wild educated guess.

  • A way to tell how many hours a computer has run

Is there any way to tell approximately how many hours (like a car has an odometer) my PowerMac G4 1GHZ MDD has been run in total?
    Thanks,

Old World ROM Macs used to hold that info, along with the manufacturing date, in PRAM. It could be viewed with an old Demo version of TechTools and probably a couple of other freeware utilities. The problem was that, if you ever flushed PRAM via a CUDA reset or removed the PRAM battery, the info was lost.
Older versions of Techtools (v3 and earlier for pre-OSX systems) had an option to save that PRAM data before zapping the PRAM or replacing the battery. The function to reload the saved data was labeled "Restore Mandate" if you want to search further.

  • How many hours of recording?

Since the video is HD how many hours or time in general can these new ipods record video?

The iPhone 4 HD video runs about 83.4 MB/min. or about 5Gb/hour. Assuming the compression is the same for the Touch, the 32Gb would get a nice 3 hours of video if you had it half full of media (music, movies, apps...).
I ordered the 64Gb, as my 32Gb now is mostly full...

  • HT5423 How many hours is the charging time of the iPad 4th gen?

I am charging my ipad, & noticed that its been 9 hours & still its 90 percent. I just wanna know, how many hours is the charging time of an iPad before it gets 100% full? & is it normal that the charger become hot? Hope someone can answer this question. Thank u.

Chargers, and the unit being charged where the battery is located, will get warm during charging...charging does work on the battery.  If it is hot or too hot to handle then you need to decide if it is too uncomfortable and needs to be checked at the Apple store genius bar.
Nine hours is a long time to charge, but if you discharged all the way it can take 4-8 hours to fully charge.
If the charger is getting very hot and taking a long time to charge you may want to take it to the genius bar and have it checked by the techs.
