How many laptops can connect to router at once?

Like how many active connection laptops (laptop, ipod, iphone) can connect to our 15/5 actiontec router?
Is there a limit or unlimited?
Never mind... live support answered everything

In theory you could technically connect as many devices as you'd like for as long as you can provide IP addesses to them on the network and have capable NAT equipment to cover them. In reality, you'll start seeing problems on larger networks when you connect more than say 10 or 15 devices to them. Even that is pushing it. Ideally, run what you can from Ethernet and put what little you can on a WIreless network.

  • How many laptops can I install on with only one lightroom 6 license? (not cc version)

I read from somewhere that one creative cloud  account can be used on two different devices, but what about the lightroom 6 version?
If I pay $149 for lightroom 6, how many laptops can I install on? I now have one windows laptop and one mac.
    Thanks for helping.

I selected yours as the correct answer because of the webpage you provided, but I cannot understand that what "only use it on one computer at a time".
If the software is for offline use, how does it know if I'm running it on another computer?

  • How many users can connect to a shared drive on a non-server workstation?

How many users can connect to a shared drive on a non-server workstation? We're waiting for our server to arrive and in the interum we're using a Pegasus 2 R6 attached to an iMac running Mavericks as our fileserver. It's been sketchy, the connection to the server being dropped once in a while or the inability to mount the drive after a week of success. The Pegasus we're using now will be attached to a server once it arrives. For now I need to figure what's coausing trouble before I commit to this being our main storage as planned. The data is backed up every night so I'm not worried, its the usability issues. 5-7 people are mounting this drive and opening/saving at the same time. Is there a limit to Maverick's fileserving ability that may be causing this? Understandable if so.

The file server in the client version of OS X has a default limit of 10 simultaneous connections. That limit can be raised by installing OS X Server, or lowered by setting a hidden preference. Assuming you've done neither, you may be able to solve the problem temporarily by stopping and restarting file sharing in the Sharing preference pane, or permanently by setting another hidden preference on the server to break idle connections quickly.
defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.AppleFileServer idleDisconnectOnOff -bool YES
Stop and restart file sharing. To reverse the change, run this command in the same way:
defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.AppleFileServer idleDisconnectOnOff -bool NO

  • How many people can connect to the mail server 3

I am looking to grow my business which consist of a growing email base with emails that need to be set up and managed.  How many emails can be hosted on the mac server?

    Hello Thomas,
"MAXLOGMEMBERS" has nothing to do with the number of users that can connect to the instance. It is a parameter to control the number of files that can be assigned to a group of (redo) log files.
how many people can connect at Oracle XE?Well, that depends on how they connect. There are parameters controlling the number of sessions in the database. But if you have a technical user, e.g. when using APEX, there may be more users than sessions in the database...
So you need to clarify what kind of user access you mean.

  • How many pcs can connect to hub at same time

how many pcs can connect to hub  at same time, I have looked everywhere and if you know where did u find the answer,  many thanks

Most routers specs I've seen have a theoretical maximum of 256, but obviously due to practical performance issues would likely limited to less than 20.
As said, usually more than a home user would need.

  • How many devices can connect at once

I have an AirPort Extreme running my home wifi network.  How many devices can connect to it at one time?  What solutions are there if I'm over that limit?

If you have a recent model AirPort Extreme, it will allow a total of about 250 devices to connect.....50 wireless plus an additional 200 Ethernet devices.
Keep in mind that all devices share the same Internet connection bandwidth.
So, if you have a 20 Mbps Internet service and you have 20 devices connected to the AirPort Extreme, then each device will receive about 1Mbps of bandwidth. That might be OK for light browsing, but a big file download is going to be SLOW.
Another way of saying the same thing is that the network slows down as you add more devices. If you need more speed, you'll need to talk to your Internet Service Provider about a faster connection plan.
The AirPort Extreme will handle far more speed than your ISP can ever hope to deliver.

  • How many clients can connect to Topic?

I've just read through the jms tutorial and it seems to be ment to losely couple parts of a big systems. (delivery -> factory -> order)
I'm in the process of beginning a application which has the following structure:
One client sends a message to the server, the server sends this message to one or more clients. (in jms: sender sends message to topic, topic sends message to receiver).
Now the client which receive the message from the server isn't part of a system, it's actual a person who sits behind his/her computer and finds the messages interesting.
My question is about how many clients can "watch" the topic for messages? Are we talking about 50, 100, 500 or 1000 or maybe 10.000 ?

    Jan,
I do not think that there is a forced limit for as long as your hardware can sustain.
It also probably depends from MQ vendor to vendor, and their JMS implementations.
In one of my apps 10,000 subscribers was the practical celing due to the memory limitations. (On Solaris 8, 2 GB shared memory)
In another that used open source JMS celing was much lower. due to its underlying EJB implementation (Linux).
I would suggest a clean box test. Benchmarking, stress and load testing you middleware is always a good idea. It will give you a good idea what your app can and can not do.

  • How many computers can connect to wireless?

Hello, and thank you for reading!
We have a 2 TB Time Capsule with 802.11n wireless, and I was wondering if anyone knew what the maximum number of computers this thing can handle for wireless internet?
It's in a small office but occasionally we get 40 people with laptops in, and we've seen some wonky behavior during peak times. The guy who set it up made some mistakes with the networking and DHCP range, but I fixed those. Now I'm just wondering if anyone knows approximately how many people we can reliably connect to this station at once?
    thanks,

  • How many AppleTVs can connect to one computer?

I have a client that would like to set up a large number of 2nd Generation AppleTVs to be synced to one Mac's iTunes and iPhoto libraries.
What's the maximum number of ATVs that can connect to one computer? My client would like to connect 13, but is there a maximum number?

Bear in mind that unlike AppleTV1 you cannot AFAIK specify different photo content to different AppleTVs - you'd therefore need to get the 13 'different' slideshows on each maybe using events, then manually choose the differing slideshow to run if doing all of this remotely.
If someone could walk around and just hook a laptop up to each AppleTv to transfer photos over ethernet you'd have more flexibility, but this would be a chore if AppleTV lost photos for any reason.
I don't use photos much with ATV2 and am unsure if they survive a reboot or power outage in memory.  Also unsure if there's a limit to the number of photos that can be transferred.

  • How many Macs can connect?

I'm using an external Western Digital 1TB hdd to back up my Macbooks via Time Machine. The HDD is connected to the Airport Extreme via USB. One of my Macbooks connects with little to no problems and is able to backup the data from the Macbook to the HDD via Time Machine.
However, my second Macbook always gets the message "The backup disk is not available". When I go to the Time Machine, I am able to connect to the HDD and select it as my backup. But whenever the second Macbook tries to connect via Time Machine, the error pops up.
How many Macs are able to connect to the HDD via Time Machine?

Welcome to the discussion area, bigSherm!
The simple answer may be that Apple does not support Time Machine backups to a drive attached to the USB port on the AirPort Extreme.
Some users are able to get this to work...for a time...but corruption issues are inevitable. You might want to refer to the Apple support document regarding the use of Time Machine.

  • How many devices can connect to time capsule

We have a time capsule as wifi base at home and we have 3 computer, 2 iPads and 2 iPhones which use wifi from this time capsule. One of our computer is Windows (another 2 are Mac) and sometimes Windows device doesn't connect to Wifi connection... So i wonder if time capsule has limit of device connected or something like that?

No, it should be able to connect many more than you are doing.. wireless can be sometimes difficult in one wireless item can easily dominate others.. and even force others off.
For PC make sure the wireless name is SMB compatible.. ie short, no spaces, pure alphanumeric.. the TC name should also be the same.. and WPA2 Personal password same, but 8-12 characters.
    Fix the wireless to a/n - b/g
And fix the channel can also help.
