How many mobile servers?

Hi,
Actually a client has 193 stores in every store has 16 terminals.
Is it possible to install only a mobile server for all these clients? or it's better install a mobile server for each store?
In adittion if they has an application, how can they distributed in all its clients?

The client is a supermarket that sells many products at day.
The concurrency will be each time a customer buy in one of the 16 terminals in every store.
So, I suppose will be thousands or maybe millions of records.
What do you think about it?

  • SBS 2003 to Server 2013 migration - How many virtual Servers?

    Hi
I need to replace our SBS2003 - we are about 10 users. We use it for:
    AD
    File/Print
    Exchange
    SQL
    WSUS
    Subversion
    TrendMicro WFBS
Since there is no current follow up product I feel like I need to setup:
    Server 2012 R2
    Exchange 2013
    SQL Server 2012 Express
I found inconsistent information on how many virtual servers I will need. Is it correct that in contrast to SBS I must have multiple (virtual) servers?
What is best practice for this scenario (# of VM's, "what" goes best with "what", sizes ..)
Thanks a lot for your help .. I have a very good knowledge about the SBS2003 but unfortunately not about the later Standard Server Versions.

    Well.. best practice would suggest,
    1 VM - DC
    1 VM - Exchange
    1 VM - SQL
Reality though, suggests they may not be required.
What do you 'need'?, is a better question.
Can you move to hosted exchange?
You can certainly use the Hosted Trend Micro AV product which removes the requirement to run a console on your server.
Perhaps 2 VMs would be sufficient a DC, and a second to host your applications and WSUS.

  • How many managed Servers do you need?

    Hi,
One thing that has come up time and time again, is when trying to think about a new project and a new WL domain, is trying to know how many WL Managed Servers do you need?
Does BEA have some sort of metrics which says ok for this amount of input we recommend you having 4 managed servers on 4 single boxes?
And is there think on have 2 managed servers on 1 box or 2 managed servers on two boxes?
    Any Help Appreciated.
    Kind Regards,
    Alistair.

    Hi :-D
I don't believe BEA have guide lines on how many Managed servers are required based on Metrics. You could look at some performance evaluations but it's really only relevant if your application acts in the same way.
    Cheers,
    Doug.

And also once done QA then how to send this to Production?
    My mail id:[email protected]
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,
You Can Maintain One SLD . this is Preffered
You Can Maintain Separate Servers For DEV QTY PRD

  • How many application servers in a company

Hi experts normally in a mnc company for example IBM bangalore,
how many application servers in the company and how many clients
    connected to each server.
    Regards,
    Neelima

Consulting Companies like IBM can have any number of testing servers (sand-box). Every Client operate own their own servers (90%) or sometime they host servers at SAP AG Space.
In general clients operate on 4 serevrs Dev, Quality, Production, and sand-box. But servers can be of any number depending on project size, like clients prefer to mainatin sperate BI (dev, qua & prd) servers for CRM/SRM/R-3.....it totally depends on requirement of usage for client. But yup minimum servers required is 3, though some client also work without quality servers.

  • How many parallel servers should I use?

    Hello All,
I am in 10g and would like to create table as select. I am using NOLOGGING and PARALLEL. I notice, as I go on increasing the number of parallel servers, I cost of my statement reduces.
create table tmp_xyz NOLOGGING PARALLEL 12 as
    SELECT ...
    from ...
value of PARALLEL_min_SERVERS and PARALLEL_MAX_SERVERS parallel servers is 0 and 240 respectively.
I am doing this for a large data table migration; no user be working at the time.
I wonder how many parallel processes I should use?
    Regards

    Mosaq wrote:
I wonder how many parallel processes I should use? Each parallel process is used for doing I/O - the I/O load is what is parallelised. Each PX slave gets an I/O load (usually a rowid range that describes a range of physical row-on-disk addresses) to process.
So your question boils down to what the I/O capacity is of the I/O subsystem on that server. And this is pretty unique to a server and depends on just how the I/O layer looks like.

  • How many application servers do I need??

Does anyone know at what point i would need to consider using two application servers instead of just the one??
Is it based on number of users?? Is it based on hardware spec??
    or both
    Thanks
    G.

    Hello
I don't know about your configuration of hardware but my practice (bigger company) is good to have etc.one sever as infrastrocture (OID..SSO, portal repository,...) and other for forms and report server as middletier... And around 100 f10 forms users per server/middletier...For more, just add another middletier server and use network load balancer...If you have many print jobs it's good to have for reports other server as middletier which is not in NLB.

  • Calculating how many managed servers you need.

    Hi,
Does anyone know a BEA webpage were it tells you, on the lines of :
If you have 5000 customer hitting your weblogic cluster you only need 1 managed server. If you have 30,000 you need two managed servers. If you have 500,000 you need three.
Does anyone know of a performance page like this?
    Regards,
    Alistair.

There is no such performance numbers from BEA. I think you need to rely on capacity planning process to estimate number of server based on your workload and performance requirements.

  • I have seen all the early responses to how to fix AOL mail issues on Iphones, however no mater how many smpt servers I set up or on .... I can not get AOL mail to send from my Iphone 5, running IOS 6.  I have an Iphone 4 running IOS6 and it works fine...

I can not get the Iphone 5 to send out aol mail.  I have added the extra smtp server as suggested and it still will not send mail.

I am having the same problem. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I called apple restored my phone to its original and it did not work :-( Now it seems like it worked for a bit than stopped again. Now I have to contact Apple again to set up an appointment at an Apple store because it may be an issue with my phone. I have only had it for a week and half!

  • How many Radius Servers do I need in my environment for 802.x?

I am seeting up Radius for all my controllers which is 5 because I have 5 buildings. 2 of these buildings have 100 MB connectiosn the other 3 have a 10 MB connection. Is it ncessary to put a Radius server in each building? I have about 1000 or more clients between all the buildings.

It's not necessary to put a RADIUS server in each building. Usually having two located at the head end (Data Center or primary building works best) for redundancy. But if you're looking for survivability in case of an inter-building outage, then having one at each site will work fine.
As to the number of clients, it depends on the type of RADIUS server. Are you using Microsoft's IAS/NPS or Cisco's ACS?

  • How many TFTP servers should I have turned on in UCM?

I have a 7 server cluster on UCM running version 8.5x with over 3,500 devices.   My question is should I have TFTP turned on on all my subscribers and if not where should it be turned on? Maybe just a server and a subscriber?
Thanks in advance for any replies.

I think the SRNDs recommend dedicated TFTP for over 1250 phones.
In real life, it's no big deal. Some deployments we have TFTP/MOH dedicated VMs, but often we don't.
If a phone can't find the TFTP server when it boots, it will use cached data and register anyway, so fault tolerance isn't a major issue.
During upgrades you generally have plenty of time pencilled into a maintenance window so unless minimising endpoint downtime is a big priority there's not much to be gained.

  • How many 11gR2 RAC instance servers would be needed?

On the shared SAN drive - there will be as many as 6 11gR2 databases. For 2 node RAC instance servers - how many instance servers would work fine - are two separate servers needed for each database?

Your question seems to indicate a lack of understanding of what RAC provides and how it achieves that goal... High Availability.
RAC can also be used to provide additional horsepower - on the fly. I have added a new node - start to finish in < 2hrs. (new hardware+install/configure OS+addnode to RAC and have it online and operational.) No other database solution offers this flexability.

  • How many servers do I need?

    Hi,
We are planning to go live with Service Manager.
So far we shall go with following line up:
SM Management Server - 1 server
DW Management Server - 1 server
    Database/DW Database - 1 server
    Total: 3 servers
    What remains is:
    Sharepoint (services/server)
    Service Manager Portal
    The question is:
How many more servers do we need?
I read that SM Portal must not be installed on SM Management Server. Is it true? If yes, why?
Where should I install Sharepoint Services?
Can I install Sharepoint Services and SM Portal on the same server?
Can I install Sharepoint Services and SM Portal on any of the above mentioned three servers?
    Thanks for your advice.
    Les

    Hi,
It depends on your load but you could start with one additional server and install both the SharePoint and the Service Manager SSP components, and if needed, adding more servers in the future.
Previously it was possible to install the SSP on the mgmt. server but not recommended, nowdays it shouldn't even be possible to do so.
