How many more months do I have on my 2 yr contract?

You can dial #UPG (#874) on your handset to hear/receive a text that tells you when you can upgrade, which is likely to be the end of your current contract, although some things may have happened that would change it so the upgrade date and contract end date are not the same.
Or you can log on to your account at VerizonWireless.com, and if you are the account owner, you can see the contract end date for your line or all the lines (if a shared account)

  • ESATA vs FW800 = how many more tracks of audio in Pro Tools?

I'm not talking about video editing here, only audio...
Comparing the throughput of FW800 to the added speed of eSATA, How many more tracks of digital audio would it realistically add in a recording program with normal settings (44.1+, stereo tracks)?
How many should I speculate that I'll get with normal/reasonable amounts of plug ins running with FW 800?
The reason I ask is this... Pro Tools LE maxes at 32 tracks, or 48 if you add the upgrade. I'm thinking that FW800 will already be exceeding that, so I have no need to consider the added costs of eSATA.
I built a rather monsterous PC desktop to use with Pro Tools 6.9, and the very first thing the manual instructed me to do was to DISable hyper-threading (& cut the performance in half or so) before installing. And it would handle 32 tracks with plug ins no problema. It had SATA internal drives - SATA I mind you, not SATA II, which is now standard. And that was a single core P4, 3.2 Ghz. That dang thing heated up my room so bad that I had to install a window unit and leave it permanently set with thermostat control. LOL AHHH, the bliss of my MBP 17" - quiet, and MUCH cooler by comparison. I also ditched the 19" tube monitor that was adding heat as well. New Cinema display will be here in a week. Can't WAIT to dual-screen at such a higher resolution. It's gonna be screen real-estate for days. But back to the drive speeds...
It seems that I'm already overkill for what I want to do, and don't want to spend more money chasing speed that's more in the realm of video editing.

i think you will do fine with fw400.

  • Just imagine how many more iPhones Apple would sell if....

Just imagine how many more iPhones Apple would sell if they allowed you to buy them as gifts.
Seriously, the only way to purchase one as a gift is if you pay the non-contract price which is astronomical (over $600).
I know they need the account owner to be there to sign and activate the new phone, but there should be a way you can buy it as a gift at the upgrade price (assuming you know they're eligible) and AT&T gives you a window of time to have the person come in and activate it.
And before you ask, I don't do gift cards. I like giving real gifts. It would've been great to give both my sister and her husband iPhones for Christmas, but I'm not allowed.

You need to bring this up with AT&T, as it has nothing to do with Apple. AT&T is the one that is subsidizing the price, and they have their own requirements that must be fulfilled in order to get that price.

  • I already have my iPod, iPhone and iPad synched to iTunes on my PC.  How many more iOS devices can I add (is there a limit)?

I already have an iPod, iPhone and iPad connected to and synching via my Windows PC.  Can I add other iOS devices? How many more?  Will this all chance once iCloud becomes official?

No limit to devices. The limit for authorized computers however is 5. iCloud has not been released yet but I should think not.

  • I have forgotten my restrictions pass code on my ipad 2. I've made 20 attempts to remember. How many more will I get? There is no way I'm wiping it. It's is just ridiculous. Why can't they find a way to re-set it for you!?!

I'm certain I have actually entered the password I chose as I have only 3 that I ever use. I have now tried 20 times and not guessed it. I did not realise that restricting adult content would mean I can't use any apps that use adult content occasionally, e.g I assumed I would still be able to use BBC iPlayer but that it would not be possible for my daughter or anyone else to access programmes of an adult content. Wrong. It stops you from using the app at all just because some programmes have that content. In true Apple style there was no warning of this beforehand. Just as there was no warning before I set the passcode that if I forgot it, I'd have to wipe the device. I'm getting pretty fed up with Apple all told. When I my first iPhone fell into a drain it took 3 hour long calls from London to California just to get my photos back on the phone when they should have been there automatically. It then took 10 months to recover the music which should have again been there automatically.
Please, does anybody know how many times I can try guessing the passcode before something awful happens, like it wipes the content anyway? I only really use the iPad to watch tv and now I can't even do that! My apple devices have caused me nothing but woe. The whole system is so unbelievably un-user friendly.
    Any advice very welcome indeed.
    Thanks

Thanks for that. Much more constructive than the last comment. It's only the restriction code I can't recall, not the access passcode. So I can currently access the device, just not age restricted content. Does that's make a difference? I also wondered if anyone knew how many attempts you get to try to get it right. Now tried 21 times and so far nothing bad has happened but I am concerned I'll eventually be completely locked out of the device. That doesn't seem in the spirit of things though. Surely it's foreseeable that a child could repeatedly try to guess the code so I can't see that it would be right to lock the device down completely in that circumstance, particularly if the access code is being typed in correctly every time.
    Thanks

  • How many more activations do I have left?

I have purchased a student package and I am allowed 5 activations on different computers. I have not kept track of how many I have doen, and I want to know how many I have left. I also want to know if I uninstall the program on one computer if it would give me an extra 'activation.' Thanks

Installation has nothing to doe with activation and unless you explicitly choose to deactivate your software eitehr via Help --> Deactivate or on uninstall, an activation can stick even without actualyl a program in place. The rest is not realyl relevant - if you run out of activations, call support to reset them all and then reactivate as needed. There simpyl is no way to find out otherwise.

    1. How many more phones/ipods/devices can I sync with my iTunes? I know it's 5 computers. What about iphones and ipods?
    No stated limit.
    2. Does Syncing multiple devices mean that all devices and my iTunes will always
have the same content? i.e., If I download a few songs to an iPhone and then sync with iTunes, will itunes then sync that new content to any other devices that I sync with my copy of iTunes, therefore all devices will always attempt to have the same content?
Depends. If all devices are set for automatic synchronization and they all have sufficient capacity to hold your entire iTunes library, then all devices will have identical content and will continue to do so whenever you add new content. If you're using manual synchronization and/or your entire library won't fit on one or more of the devices, then of course whether or not the devices have identical content will depend on you.
    3. How does this affect store purchases? Can I sync multiple devices to the same copy of iTunes and how many times can I sync the purchased iTunes store content to devices? I know it's 5 computers, but what about devices?
    Same answer as #1.
    4. Lastly, can a device such as an iPhone be synced to more than 1 computer/iTunes? Can I sync my iPhone to my own copy of iTunes and then sync again to someone elses and will this then sync new content to all associated computers and synced devices on those computers? Again, what about purchased content in such a scenario?
Unless things have changed, an iPhone can only be synched to a single copy of iTunes. iPods other than the shuffle can be synched to multiple systems by setting to manual sync.

  • How many servers do I need?

    Hi,
We are planning to go live with Service Manager.
So far we shall go with following line up:
SM Management Server - 1 server
DW Management Server - 1 server
    Database/DW Database - 1 server
    Total: 3 servers
    What remains is:
    Sharepoint (services/server)
    Service Manager Portal
    The question is:
How many more servers do we need?
I read that SM Portal must not be installed on SM Management Server. Is it true? If yes, why?
Where should I install Sharepoint Services?
Can I install Sharepoint Services and SM Portal on the same server?
Can I install Sharepoint Services and SM Portal on any of the above mentioned three servers?
    Thanks for your advice.
    Les

    Hi,
It depends on your load but you could start with one additional server and install both the SharePoint and the Service Manager SSP components, and if needed, adding more servers in the future.
Previously it was possible to install the SSP on the mgmt. server but not recommended, nowdays it shouldn't even be possible to do so.

  • Getting feedback -- how many reviewers do you need?

I'd like to draw on the experience of this group.
The Beta of our first training lesson is complete.  We did a careful internal review with a group of subject experts who offered detailed feedback.
Next, we offered it to a variety of managers and their staffs -- the kind of people who would either take the training or send their staff to take it.
Of that group (between 500-1K people), we had 32 people offer to review the lesson and send in comments of their own free will.
However, of the 32, only five brave individuals have sent in feedback as of the deadline.  Life is busy, etc.
I know that in UX design and webpage design, you can get very good usability testing even with a small group.  A group of 5-10 representative people will catch almost all of the problems you are trying to find in testing.
What is your experience with reviewing Captivate training?
In this case (unlike usability), we are not asking people to accomplish specific tasks, but to simply take the lesson and send their feedback on both style and content.
Is my small group of five (somewhat representative users) enough?  Or do I need to seek more?  And, in your professional opinion, how many more will catch what we need to change?
    Thanks in advance!

My advice is to run with the sample reviews you currently have, make any changes that were highlighted as necessary, fix any bugs that came to light, and then get the course out in the wild as quickly as possible.
There's this perception in some manager's (and Captivate developer's) minds that you can't release the course "until it's perfect".  This is a mistake, because the course will never be perfect according to somebody, and you will never be able to get it released.
So waiting for everyone to be happy with your course will result in huge delays, by which time someone else will not be happy, or the business process will have changed, or the management team will have changed, or...you get the picture.
So cover off any glaring errors found in the review, and get it out there ASAP.  You can fix anything else that comes to light in 6 or 12 month's time when it's time to do the inevitable updates to content.  If there's some other showstopper that's "discovered" before then, do the change and publish an updated version.
These constant changes are what make using CD ROMs to deliver your course a bad proposition.  Totally online is the way to go.  You can put up an update overnite and nobody is the wiser.

  • How many photos can 6gb hold?

I am using an iPhone 5c, and have 6gb left. I was just wondering, approximately, how many more photos I can take (I have zero on the phone at the moment)
    thank you!

It really depends on the size of the photos as well as the resolution.
A basic rule of thumb (again it depends) is each photo is ~ 5MB in size.
Which means you have enough room left for approximately 1,200 photos.
