How many OSPF Processes does a Cat6500 w/ Sup720 support?

Hi,
we've to build many vrf's and have to run
OSPF on each of these.
My question is, how many OSPF Processes does a Cat6500 w/ Sup720 can support?
regards
kf

Harold,
Thanks for the clarification. I hope you don't mind one more question. I have looked it up..http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios123/123newft/123t/123t_4/gtospfvf.htm
but it is not clear whether multiple vrfs can share the same routing process through the routing context mechanism. If this is not supported yet, then I wonder how scalable this is, and in particular whether service providers will view this as a viable feature considering the demand on resources on a PE router to run multiple (according to the document, depending on platform, up to 10,000!) ospf processes?

  • How many concurrent devices does home sharing on iTunes support?

On my appleTV, if I'm watching something from my home iTunes library through home sharing, then on another device, like my iphone, I access the same shared library through home sharing, the appleTV immediately drops connection and cannot see the shared iTunes library.
This happens across all devices, yet apple specifically mentions the need to use the same appleID across all devices.  If I cannot home share to multiple devices at once, how will this EVER work.
Is there something I might have configured wrong?  If I enable home sharing on enough devices, you cannot possibly complete a full TV show on the appletv without at least one of them accessing the library and kicking it off.
How would 2 appleTVs ever work at the same time to stream different programs from the itunes library?

    Hi Faiz,
There are not any known issues in terms of URLs failing. I would perform a packet capture on the WSA. See my instructions below:
In order to obtain a simultaneous packet capture from the WSA & PC you will need to log into the GUI ->Support and Help -> Packet Capture -> Edit Settings -> Select the radial button No Filter. Please send me a packet capture from the WSA unfiltered. You will need to install wireshark on the PC or laptop you are testing from. It is a good idea to start the wireshark program from the PC first.  I would recommend using www.iana.org as a test as it uses only on IP address.
When you have the captures completed I would first look at the WSA packet capture and use the following filter in wireshark http contains "www.iana.org". The various streams of communication will populate in the wireshark display. What you want to focus on is the streams that show the IP of the WSA and the IP of www.iana.org 192.0.32.8. We should see the following when you right mouse click the packet which shows the IP of the WSA going to the destination IP of www.iana.org:
    WSA IP -------SYN-----> www.iana.org IP
    WSA IP <--SYN/ACK-- www.iana.org IP
    WSA IP -------ACK-----> www.iana.org IP
    If you see this instead:
    WSA IP -------SYN-----> www.iana.org IP
    WSA IP -------SYN-----> www.iana.org IP
    WSA IP -------SYN-----> www.iana.org IP
    WSA IP -------SYN-----> www.iana.org IP
Then you have a problem in your network.

  • How many route entries does 3945E or/and 3900 ISR G2 support

    hello guys:
I have a question concerning about how many ospf and bgp route entries does 3945E isr g2 router support?
    cheers
    tony xi

    Tony,
This question can't be answered in general. It depends foremost on the amount of available memory in the router. With 256MB of RAM, you can expect that the router can manage roughly tens of thousands of routes. The full BGP routing table (not the BGP database) consumes around 70MB, however, the full BGP RIB on one of the route-views project routers consumes over 1100 MB of RAM (this also depends on the number of BGP peers and the amount of data sent to it by individual BGP neighbors). The exact number is impossible to determine, as it depends on the amount of other control information that the router has to store in its RAM - for example, OSPF LSDB, BGP RIB, the CEF and adjacency tables, etc. etc. etc.
So you can assume that 256MB of RAM should be working for deployments up to the order of tens of thousands but this has to be taken with a very, very rough and unreliable estimate.
    Best regards,
    Peter

  • How many work processes are recommended by SAP for 16 GB RAM

How many work processes are recommended by SAP for 16 GB RAM ?

This is the calculation for determining the number of work process according to the available memory  for the system.
    - Number of dialog work processes = RAM/256 (min 2, max 18)
    - Number of update work processes = RAM/768 (min 1, max 6)
    - Number of update2 work processes = RAM/1024 (min 1, max 3)
    - Number of batch work processes = RAM/1024 (min 2, max 3)
    - Number of enqueue work processes = 1
    - Number of spool work processes = 1
You can also refer the following link regarding memory management in SAP .

I will mark this as solved for now. In order to minimise the running dbus sessions, I switched back from ldm to startx and also removed the pulseaudio autostart from /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.d/ since I want to control myself when pulseaudio starts the dbus sessions.
This is how it looks now with X running and udisks2/gvfs enabled dbus session.

  • How many work processes should be configured in ERP?

Hey guys I'm installing ERP 6.0 on a system landscape on AIX 6.1 and Oracle 10.2.0.4.
I wish I had an idea of what is best practice to determine how many work processes can be configured in an instance ?
I give the example of the Quality server:
    Only a Central Intance
Number of Users to Log On: 120
    Physical Memory: 12 GB
    Swap Space: 38 GB
    Thanks for your help
    Desiré

    Hello,
Refer to SAP Note 9942 for maximum number of work process.
Regarding what would be optimal setting in your system, there is no clear cut solution. You have set it first based on your guess for amount of dialog activity, batch jobs etc.
Typically, you should have dialog process double than background processes. Simillary, background process should be double than update, update should be double than update2 and total should not cross more than what mentioned in above Note for your Operating system and SAP release.
Then you keep checking the system any bottleneck for a week or two and accordingly adjust the work processes if required.

  • HT4407 How many GB's Does BootCamp take?

I Have got a MacBook Air from late 2011, and it's "only" got 128GB's discspace, then i wanted to hear about how many GB's does BootCamp Take?

Windows 7 specs out at a *minimum* free drive space of 20GB for the 64 bit version and that would likely be very tight for a working Windows machine.  Given the limited drive space on an SSD (especially if you have the 128GB rather than 256GB drive) I opt for virtualization largely so I can retain one single drive partition rather than having to partition between Windows and OSX.  That is, you can have a small Windows virtual drive and then share folders from OSX that will allow using the space as needed by each operating system.
Of course that requires buying Parallels or VMWare Fusion in addition to Windows, but I figure it's more than than worth it just for the flexibility it gives.
That said, on this 13" Air with a 256GB drive I have an "inherited" 80GB Windows 7 virtual machine (came over from the old MacBook Pro).  On my 11" Air with a 128GB drive I opted to install a new virtual machine on an external SSD, but I don't often need Windows on that machine.
The main downside to virtualization is a slight loss of speed, especially on high end video intensive applications (meaning things like gaming).  However the Intel video chipset in the Air is hardly optimal for that sort of thing to begin with, so I wouldn't have gone for an Air for a machine that was going to be dedicated to doing a lot of that sort of thing.

  • A running count of how many steps processed?

Hi, I'm using labview to monitor where I'm at in my teststand sequence. I have several goto statements in TS, meaning that certain steps are executed several times. I'm already using the Step.Index to find out which step I'm on, however I need to keep track of how many times that step has been called(goto loops). Is there a count index that increments for each step processed, regardless of goto loops? I've tried, the Loop.Index however it does not keep track of the Goto loops. Thanks for any help.
    Joe

    Joe,
Teststand does not expose a variable that keeps track of how many times a current step has been executed in a Goto Loop. However, it keeps track of how many steps have been executed so far. This information is store in the property RunState.NumStepsExecuted. If you now how many steps are included in your loop, and if you also know the number of steps executed so far, then you can calculate the current iteration of your goto loop.
    Hope this helps,

  • How many records processed

    Dear all,
    Oracle 10g
Is it possible to find out that how many records have been processed till now by an sql statement. The sql statement takes some hours to get the results. Can we know after some time how many records have been processed till now.
    Regards

It is not necessary that the job be present in V$SESSION_LONGOPS.
A long running DML that is driven by a Nested Loop - IndexRangeScan will NOT appear in V$SESSION_LONGOPS.
A long running Query that isn't doing FullTableScan(s) , Sort-Merge Join etc will NOT appear in V$SESSION_LONGOPS.
Only some classes of operations appear in V$SESSION_LONGOPS.

  • How many DMA Channels does my device have?

I would like to know how I can find out (progammatically) how many DMA channels my device has. I am using the DAQmx driver. Other than with the traditional DAQ I can't find out anything about my device but the "type" and the "serial number". Where can I get some more details about the device (not in the MAX - I want to know it in my program) with DAQmx?
My intention is to find out how many DMA Channels the device has and depending on how many Channels I need - I am using "interrupts" instead of DMA.
Somewhere in the KB of Ni was written that the NI-DAQ 6.9.... realizes automatically how many DMA Channels are available and how many I would need - and so he takes "interrupts" for the rest.
It seems that they did a "step bac
kwards" because with the NI-DAQ 7.2 it doesn't work automatically if I need DAQmx VI's.
Does somebody know anything that would help me to solve this problem?
    Thanks.

Sorry! I posted my first revision of the answer.
Here is what I meant to say:
    Hello,
According to this KnowledgeBase, DAQmx and Traditional DAQ behave the same. Are you seeing something different?
As far as a workaround goes, all you have to do is trap the No DMA error. This error should be -200251. So in software, if you receive error -200251, then you need to configure the board to use interrupts, and then start the task again.
How to configure the board for interrupts differs from the four different DAQmx APIs (C, C++, DotNET, and LabVIEW). If you are unclear about how to do this in your environment, please let us know, and we can find
    out.

  • How many iPhone backups does iTunes keep?

I've found where you find the iTunes iPhone backup files (~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup). But I would like a list of how many backups I have. Those files are very cryptic and the dates are all over the place. I want to see if I have a week's worth, or month, etc...
    Thanks.

You can check in iTunes: Edit/Preferences/Devices, you should see a panel with a list of dated backups. For me there is only one. I haven't figured out yet if it's possible to make it do more than one.
The page sited in prior post says "Since iTunes only keeps one backup per device..." so maybe it's always one. Apple suggest that the directory where iTunes backups are kept should be backed up elsewhere (Timemachine, etc) to give access to multiple backups. Not so convenient.
This page (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1414) implies there are multiple backups by showing a dropdown list where you can pick one. It's a bit misleading.
The dilemma I would like to solve is that, through some blunders on my part, I lost some app data that I would like to recover. I was upgrading OS on the iPhone, and in that process two backups were taken automatically. The second one did not have the data I want back. I was hoping there were several backups and that I could restore the data from one of them. Seems it's not so.

  • How many external displays does the 15 inch support?

I spend 90% of my time at a desk developing, using multiple monitors.  My current Windows system can support up to 4 displays, normally I run with 3.  I was wondering how many external displays one can hook up to the 2.3GHz Macbook Pro.  I need at least 3 displays while still having a thunderbold for external drives and eithernet.  Does the Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter allow splitting the single to two different monitors?  Other then the Thunderbolt display, is there a way to get multiple monitors out of one Thunderbolt port?

From http://support.apple.com/kb/SP690 -> "Simultaneously supports full native resolution on the built-in display and up to 2560 by 1600 pixels on up to two external displays, both at millions of colors".
But there may be ways of driving three monitors - maybe someone with a Retina Display model will jump in. I know that on my 15" 2011 model, I can only drive two Apple Thunderbolt Displays.
    Good luck,

  • How many email accounts does the iphone4 support?

Wanted to know how many different e-mail accounts will the new iphone4 support?
    thanks

If there is an email account limit with the iPhone or with the current firmware version and with any previous firmware versions, I'm not aware of it. You shouldn't have any problem creating and accessing 6 email accounts.

we are running cisco ips 7.0(2) E4, and we are planning to tune some of the traffic everyday.......any idea how many event action filters can be applied to a sensor or is there is any maximum limit on the number of filters?

There is no limit to how many event action filters you can configure. I assume that you also know that event action filters is ordered list:

(When over 495 event action filters are configured via CLI, it's corrupting "rules0.xml" file)
    Hope that answers your question.
