How many scripts (as in writing systems) are supported by InDesign?

I am trying to find a definitive list of scripts (as in writing systems) supported by InDesign. Is that available somewhere? These are the scripts I am interested in:
Arabic
Armenian
Bengali
Braille
Canadian Syllabics
Chinese
Cherokee
Cyrillic
Devanagari
Ethiopic
Georgian
Greek
Gujarati
Gurmukhi
Hebrew
Japanese
Kannada
Khmer
Korean
Lao
Latin
Malayalam
Mongolian
Myanmar
Oriya
Sinhala
Tamil
Telugu
Thai
Tibetan

Yeah, I do understand that Ge'ez/Ethiopic script covers many languages - but quite a few East African minority languages written in Ge'ez that are not Amharic or Tigrinya use forms/"houses"/etc. not in the Unicode spec. The same is true of minority languages in Myanmar - don't assume you can typeset Karen once you have "Myanmar" in your list of supported languages!
When you say "out of the box" do you really mean that? Most of the languages in that list that will work without plugins etc. require specialized fonts. The glyph coverage of the fonts that Adobe gives away with ID or the Creative Suite is extensive, but won't include most of your required languges. But, assuming you already have the fonts, and assuming that you know where to find the World-Ready Composer, then anything in that list that is not right-to-left (or vertical) should at least render correctly in ID. Mind you, "render correctly" doesn't help you if your Burmese translator doesn't key in zero-width spaces, for example.
I think that this may well be why there is no Adobe master-list of supported languages that is easy to find; it's because It Is A Very Complicated Issue. I've been doing typesetting in a list of languages much like yours for the last decade, and even if Adobe's type rendering engine handles fonts-built-according-to-Unicode-spec (e.g. Lao), there is significant variation in font development techniques, font modification by people writing in minority languages, keying order, and personal translator keying preferences. But if you find that list, post it! I will be surprised, but not shocked, if it exists somewhere.

  • How many of the codd's rules are supported by oracle?

hai any body of you please tell me how many of the codd's rules are supported by oracle.....?

    as far as i remember
oracle follows 11 of the 12 rulesCare to name the one you think is missing?
Taking the Wikipedia definition of Codd's 12 Rules (there are of course thirteen of them), this is what we find:
Rule 0: The system must qualify as relational, as a database, and as a management system.
This is a little circular, and there are people who argue over whether Oracle (or any other existing RDBMS) is truly relational
    Rule 1: The information rule
Oracle stores its information as values in column positions within rows of tables.
Rule 2 : The guaranteed access rule
    Oracle has primary keys.
Rule 3: Systematic treatment of null values
Many view this rule as Codd's biggest mistake but undeniably Oracle does treat nulls systematically.
Rule 4: Active online catalog based on the relational model
    SELECT * FROM USER_TABLES; QED
Rule 5: The comprehensive data sublanguage rule
Oracle's implementation of ANSI SQL satisifies this one.
Rule 6: The view updating rule
Oracle allows us to update key-preserved views.
Rule 7: High-level insert, update, and delete
Oracle has set-based insert, update, and delete.
    Rule 8: Physical data independence
    Tick in the box.
    Rule 9: Logical data independence
Tick in the box (we can argue about LOB storage as a special case).
    Rule 10: Integrity independence
Well of course Oracle does this, much to the annoyance of our chums in the OO application building world.
    Rule 11: Distribution independence
yep, unless we are so boorish as to expose our database links in the FROM clause instead of using synonyms...
    Rule 12: The nonsubversion rule
Oracle does this alright (This is why it's a bad idea to use triggers to enforce relational integrity instead of foreign key constraints).

  • How many scripts do you work on simultaneously?

We'd love to know how many scripts do you work on at a given time?
Is it safe to assume that you'd work on no more than 3 scripts at a time?

In my experience it depends on what type of assignments one can get.  When working a feature, you pretty much are working on one script, if working on spec, this could go as high as five or six, though you only concentrate on one at a time.
Series television, especially complicated multi-episode story arcs can have something on the order of ten scripts in various stages of development.  Where I have not personally worked on such a series, I have heard that character groups will be assigned to a given writer, and four or five writers will contribute their scenes to the final script.  The colaborative tools of Adobe Story would lend itself well to this sort of workflow.
I don't think I would like to see an upper limit on scripts in the program personally, though I suspect why you are asking.  The higher you can allow the better, especially if this tool is to be adopted by one hour drama writers.

how many types of user defined functions are there?

    Hi Ramakrishna,
A user-defined function is only visible in the message mapping in which you created it. You can insert the function in the data-flow editor as a standard function by using the User-Defined function category.
You can use the following user-defined functions:
1.Simple functions, which can process individual field input values for each function call. Simple functions therefore expect strings as input values and return a string.
2.Advanced functions, which can process several field input values for each function call. You can import either all field values of a context or the whole queue for the field in an array before calling the function. For more information, see Advanced User-Defined Functions.

  • How many devices can I have in my support profile?

How many devices can I have in my support profile?  I have 24 and can not add any more.  I just tried to add a new iPhone and it says the serial number, "We're sorry, but this serial number is either invalid or it is for Apple software or accessories. If you are trying to register Apple hardware other than an accessory, please check your information and try again."

Never having seen that question before, I tried to find some information - could not find anything unfortunately. So, unless someone else has a better suggestion, my recommendation is to use this form:
    http://www.apple.com/support/feedback/
Send them your  question - or, if you are covered by Applecare or regular warranty, simply give them a call and ask.
24 Devices....... hmmmm, I'm green with envy!

    They said "Medium complexity Codecs: 360 (E1)/288 (T1) and High-complexity Codecs: 180 (E1)/144 (T1) "in Cisco 3660 voice gateway data sheet .
But another document said you just configured 4E1 on a Cisco 3660 router .
    Which one is true ?

    Hi,
There are some other issue except physically accepted number of voice port.

Just to avoid confusion - during provisioning, the phone is downloading a configuration from remote server. Phone is client. Provisioning process require a server (HTTP or FTP or TFTP) running somewhere.
You are speaking about browser, not server, so it seems you are speaking about manual configuration of phone, not the provisioning. Even in the case you are speaking about server, you speaking about upgrade of OS, not the provisioning (HTTP/FTP/TFTP) server software. On the other side, you are speaking about "initial profile downloads from Windows 7" asking about browser versions. I'm confused. Can you explain what are you trying to do in more details ?
Something like: "I did A, expecting B as result but C happened".
Debug/log from phone device and/or catched communication between browser and phone and/or phone and provisioning server may help to analyze the problem.

  • How many Threads on a given system ?

Is there a way to know for an AIR application how many threads a given system system supports?
Pixel Bender is capable of real multi threading. It would not make sense to run 4 instances on a system with only 2 threads, but would be a shame not to utilize all threads of an 8 core hyper threading system.

  • How many fonts from Font Folio 11 are in CS5 Master?

    Hi.
For educational purposes (classes I'm taking).... how many fonts are included in Font Folio 11 that overlap the fonts that ship with CS5 Master Collection?  I see that there are 2300 fonts in Font Folio and some of the names look familiar but there seem to be some fonts that have extra glyph types such as light, medium, condensed, bold, book, black etc.
    Please advise
    Sincerely,
    -markerline

Here is a link to a page that lists the fonts included with the various CS5 editions, including the Master Collection:
http://www.adobe.com/type/browser/fontinstall/cs5installedfonts.html. (An  Adobe representative told me that CS5.5 includes exactly the same fonts as CS5.)
As you can see, only a very small subset of the fonts in Font Folio 11 are included with the CS5 suite.

  • How many VGA monitors a new Mac Pro Support?

hello! sorry for bad english! writing through a translator. tell me how many monitors can be connected to a mac pro 2013-14. examined the information - say, you can connect two monitors via passive dvi adapter and four through the vga adapter or six monitors through the vga adapter. Please help, since you can not buy 6 monitors display port or thunderbolt. already have 6 monitors dvi/vga, but I'm afraid to buy a mac pro, because monitors can not connect. Thank you friends!

I want to connect 6 vga or dvi monitors.
I'm sorry, translation via google translate
Mac pro ordered, paid money. Now I worry that I won't be able to connect 6 vga monitors. I already have 6 vga of monitors, don't want to buy 6 thunderbolt monitors
    thanks!!!
PS VGA adopters are all active. It means mac pro supports six vga monitors?

  • How many external displays does the 15 inch support?

I spend 90% of my time at a desk developing, using multiple monitors.  My current Windows system can support up to 4 displays, normally I run with 3.  I was wondering how many external displays one can hook up to the 2.3GHz Macbook Pro.  I need at least 3 displays while still having a thunderbold for external drives and eithernet.  Does the Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter allow splitting the single to two different monitors?  Other then the Thunderbolt display, is there a way to get multiple monitors out of one Thunderbolt port?

From http://support.apple.com/kb/SP690 -> "Simultaneously supports full native resolution on the built-in display and up to 2560 by 1600 pixels on up to two external displays, both at millions of colors".
But there may be ways of driving three monitors - maybe someone with a Retina Display model will jump in. I know that on my 15" 2011 model, I can only drive two Apple Thunderbolt Displays.
    Good luck,
    Clinton

  • How many LUNs does an Solaris Host can support ?

    Hi ,
Anyone can share, how many storage LUNs does an Solaris Host can support? There is any limits on this.?
    Regards
    Siva

It probably depends at least some on the type of HBAs, the driver, topology, and most likely other things as well. Instead of dealing with thousands of LUNs on the OS side, I would highly recommend you have your SAN team start provisioning meta devices instead, to cut down on the number of devices (if you are lucky enough to have a SAN team that is). My company allows me to be the EMC and Solaris engineer, and in return all they ask is that I only collect pay for one of the two....

  • How many IPSec Tunnels an ASA 5500 series supports

    Hi All,
I tried looking in ASA documentations but unable to find out that how many IPSec Tunnels can be terminated to an ASA cluster. I have 5545 running only two IPSec Tunnels so far but need to terminate 18 sites all up and would like to confirm how many tunnels we could terminate? Is there a limitaion to it?
    Thanks heaps
    Shan

Yes, there is a limit. But its far away from your requirement. On the 5545-X you can terminate 2500 VPN-Peers:

can any one help me out in this..

    Hi
I have created the Function Group in ECC 6.0 and the Following Includes are generated for the same.
      System-defined Include-files.                                 *
      include lzfunctiontop.                     " Global Data
      include lzfunctionuxx.                     " Function Modules
      User-defined Include-files (if necessary).                    *
    INCLUDE LZFUNCTIONF...                     " Subprograms
    INCLUDE LZFUNCTIONO...                     " PBO-Modules
    INCLUDE LZFUNCTIONI...                     " PAI-Modules
What is your problem exactly? IF you want to write any subroutine jus uncomment the necessary includes and write your code inside it.
