How many songs can I add to a iDVD slideshow

I am putting topgether a long slideshow in iDVD and would like to use several musical items, rather than one replaying.  Is there any way to do this?

    Not sure if you meant 10,000 or 100,000 but iTunes will cope with either. Obviously as the size of the library increases there will be some impact on performance. A key factor is the number playlists that you create as these often need to be revaluated each time you add, play or remove a track. Excessive playlists with a large library tends to slow things down.

    For a first generation iPod Shuffle which only went up to 1GB in storage:

    That depends on a few things, how long are the songs? (you can get 10 times as many 1 minute songs as compared to 10 minute songs) and what format are they? (high quality, ie: wav files take up more space than low quality, 128K AAC)

    I don't think there is a limit.  I just tried a playlist with 3000 songs and had no problem.  You can certainly can make one big enough for a nice long party.

    Are you usingf 128-Kbps AAC format? That is a compressed format.
    To use compression go to the Summary pane for the iPod in iTunes and check the box that says convert higher bitrate songs to XX AAC.
    XX set at 12k kbps is a good compromise of compression and quality..
