How many special charcters in RSKC

Hi Guru,s.
Could any one tell me, how many special characters  we can enter in RSKC, which have been asked in the interview.
Regards.
Harry

Anyway, just a personal comment...
(Starting from my multi-years BI experience) I'm sometimes involved in some recruiting interview in my company, but, onestly, asking how many special characters you can put in RSKC transaction (instead of asking what is the purpose of this transaction) is really a stupid question (maybe good for a BW version of Who Wants To Be a Millionaire...)
All my sympathy to all BW novices !

Roberto

If I open a page in a tab it will take me to a completely different site, and no matter how many times I try to close and open a new one, it keeps going to different sites. It also happens when I type the website into the address bar, it still takes me to a random site. • How many Licenses of Acrobat Professional do I need for Adobe LC PDF Generator

    Hi,
At our customer site we have purchased 6 licenses of Adobe LiveCycle PDF Generator and have recieved a license file with the keys for Adobe LiveCycle PDF Generator and Adobe Acrobat Professional. We bought the license from a reseller of the product. We understand that the Adobe LiveCycle PDF Generator is a server based software and needs 1 license per CPU. Each of our server (Dev, Val & Prod) have 2 CPU's so we have sufficient licenses (6). We are under the impression that this would suffice. How ever we are not sure on how many licenses we need for Acrobat Professional.
Here is a brief description of the way we would use Adobe LiveCycle PDF Generator. We are deploying a PLM system and one of the requirement is to render Word documents to PDF so we are using PDF Generator for this capability. On our Adobe servers we will install Microsoft Word, Acrobat Professional V9 Extended and the Adobe Livecycle PDF Generator. We will have around 150 users for the PLM system being deployed. The PLM system is a Web based system which means the PLM application server will be running on a Solaris server in our case. As part of the workflows in the PLM system, at the end of the workflow process, the PLM server would trigger a request to the Adobe server to convert the word document to PDF. The Adobe server processess the request and returns the PDF file that gets generated.
Based on the above usage of the system how many licenses of Acrobat Professional do we need? We will be installing Acrobat only on the server where we install the Livecycle PDF Generator. We had a call with our purchasing person today and she cautioned us that for Adobe Acrobat Professional we might need 1 license per user of the PLM system. She has asked us to check this with the Vendor of the product. Somehow I don't think it makes sense to purchase so many Acrobat Professional licenses even though we install only once.
So can someone tell me How does the licensing for Adobe Livecycle PDF Generator work? How many Acrobat Professional licenses we actually need? Is it based on the number of users in the system that is triggering the request? Appreciate your response on this.
    Regards,
    Ragha

You really should talk to your Adobe Sales Rep about this.  There are all kinds of special deals, licenses and such for customers using LiveCycle.  (For instance the license for PDFG may include Acrobat licenses for certain uses).

  • How many cpus on server are allocated to client

    hello,
its not an issue rather doubt which is hunting me from last 2-3 days.
My 10gR2 Oracle database running on
    Widows server 2008 R2 Enterprise
Processor ----> intel Xeon cpu [email protected] GHz (4 processor)
    RAM------>8GB
    its a dedicated server.
Actually i was going through the AWR report whn one of the client came to me with slow database performance during some time interval.
when i had a look at the Top 5 Timed Events in Report it showed me the
Sql*net message from client      834.35si told them to run their query so that i can have trace of that.
then time event showed me something nearer to above and our database was taking only 15 sec to carry out the task.
    i told them that
"you application/client is taking 834 sec to tell our database to do something. But once the database got your application's request to carry out something, the database is taking only 15 sec to provide you with the result"
so they asked me to justify that the problem is with application side/machine side.
After digging in a lot on the internet ground, chatting with my colleges on cell phone and running through many threads specially Asktom.oracle.com, i got really confused.
They came up with varied opinions which kept me thinking again & again over the same thing.
In one of his(Thomas kyte) thread the discussion was as follows.
The output of tkprof when the developers run the same program on their PC shows a big difference in
    SQL*Net message from client.
The SQL*Net message from client from my tkprof is almost 4-5 times theirs.
Could you please advise what might be the cause of that?
    Thanks
    Followup   August 25, 2009 - 9am Central time zone:
    that could mean.....
your machine is slow (their desktop cpus blow your server cpus away) as much as anything.
since their code is not instrumented, try SQL*Net trace (with TIMESTAMPS) can be helpful to check out the time in the network between the client and server. See Note 16658.1 - see if you experience radically different response times on the various machines.

My Database server is T5120 with 4 core 1.2 GHz Ultra SPARC T2 processor (from O/S it is seen as 32
    CPU * 1.2 GHz).
Their PC has 2 CPU * 4 Ghz.
Based on the above, How come their PC is more powerful than my server?
The ASH Report for the execution period of the program shows ¿CPU + Wait for CPU¿ is the top event,
however, tkprof shows ¿SQL*Net from client¿ is the top event waited on.
    Top User Events
Event        Event Class    % Activity    Avg Active Sessions
CPU + Wait for CPU     CPU             81.66        0.14
log file sync             Commit             5.92        0.01
db file scattered read     User I/O     2.37        0.00
Can you please explain why there is a difference between tkprof and ASH report?
    Thank You

I only care about a single cpu, your client program is not using more than one.
I often downloaded stuff from my big bad sparc to my desktop because my desktop was many times faster than the sparc.
look further down in the ash report - sqlnet message from client is an idle wait, we tend to ignore it as it is the time we spent WAITING FOR THE CLIENT.
Their pc looks a lot faster than your server since you are only using a single cpu - your client is not multi-process. It only uses a single cpu.

I agree, because you could not use 31 out of 32 cpus, I would expect it to be almost idle.
97% idle would mean a single cpu was 100% used. So, it sounds like you were using almost 100% of that single cpu you had access to.
and it isn't as fast as their pc.

    how about this.
have the developers write something that mimics what they do without the database in it. Same sorts of loops and processing they do in the code in the client.
    run it on their machine
    run it on yours
You'll find your big bad server has cpu's that are extremely slow compared to the desktop machine.
Hence - the time spent waiting for sqlnet message from client is - time spent in YOUR client on YOUR server processing the data returned from the database.
saying "the cpu 0.17 on one and 0.48 on the other" is meaningless, they are completely different cpus with completely different performance characteristics.
And that you have 32 of them - no use to you, you use one..
It looks like your server is about 2-3 times slower then their test machine.

I just read your post as I experienced the exact same problem. I found something that fixed this
problem for me, my sqlnet.ora contained that line after an oracle upgrade:
    TRACE_LEVEL_CLIENT=16
I don't know how it came there. But it was the cause of my problem (too long idle time). I simply
removed it and no more wait events.
I hope it can be of any help for anyone.

Reviewer: A reader in this thread Tom insisted that the client has access to only 1 CPU on the server even though the questioner told him that his machine is having around 32 CPU'S.
so this thread was the source of my confusion.
i kept asking myself "if the client application has access to one cpu out of 32 cpu's on the server on which the database server is running, then What is the use of multiprocessor? my oracle/client application has access to only one cpu on the server(like Tom said), what other 31 cpu's on the server machine are upto?if one cpu is getting exhausted by the client Application request, then what the other processor are doing ? are they not meant for load balancing?"
when i had a chat on cell phone with my colleagues regarding the oracle access to the cpu's on the server, then they told me that if there are more number of cpu's then the the response time would be fast cause workload is divided among the multiple processor to carry out the task in parallel.
Again i got confused with the deferring opinion..
so just want to have clarification on
    * how many processes do i have access to on server machine where my oracle is installed?*
how many processes do the client applicaiton S/W/client machine have access to out of 32 processors?
is workload devided among the cpus on the server ,in case of huge request from the client application?
thanks & i hope my doubt would be cleared

Look at it in basic terms (forgetting for the moment about Oracle and SQL*Net and specific s/w itself).
A process is loaded into memory. This process contains machine code instructions. How many CPUs can execute these instructions?
    Only 1.
Simplistically. The process has a single execution pointer and set of CPU registers. A single CPU executes the instruction (as indicated by the execution pointer). The registers are used and updated.
The same CPU may not be used each time around. So a single process can during its lifetime, be executed by a number of CPUs. But a single CPU at a time.
A process can thread. This basically means that a second copy of the execution pointer and registers set are created. Each such copy will be executed by by a single CPU at a time.
An Oracle client is serviced by an Oracle server process (either dedicated or shared). On Linux/Unix systems, this will be a unique physical process. On Windows, it will be a unique thread.
This process is executed by a single CPU. Thus that client is serviced by a single CPU.
This changes when Oracle can use parallel processing and there are PX slave processes available. In that case, the client is serviced by a single process - but that process has in turn enlisted the assistance of helper processes. Thus the client is now serviced by multiple processes (or threads on Windows) and thus by multiple CPUs.
However, it is not that simple either. It is "cheaper" for the kernel to run threads on the same CPU than on different CPUs. The reason is the same memory is used by both and access to that memory by different CPUs is more complex (and thus more expensive and slower) than from the same CPU.
So depending on a number of factors, that client may still be serviced by a single CPU despite the fact that PX slaves are used. And from a client process perspective, this does not really matter. The crux of the issue in this regard is the CPU utilisation/footprint of that client process on the server.
If the clock time for a client process says "+running for 60s+" and the server says "+CPU time is 10s+", you cannot say that the process was not serviced by multiple CPUs. You do not know whether than 10s CPU time was for 5 processes each spending 2s to service that client.
However, when the server says "+CPU time is 70s+" - a longer period that the wall clock time of the client, then it is reasonable to assume that multiple server processes (and thus CPUs) are servicing that client process.
As for exactly how many CPUs are in fact used by the server? That has no real bearing on this. It does not change client-server behaviour.
Even Oracle does not know and does not care which CPU is servicing it. The correct piece of s/w to deal with that, is the kernel. Yes, you can bind a thread or process to a specific server CPU, but the reasons for this is quite technical and is always an exception. Let the kernel deal with which CPU to use. It is of no concern to the server s/w (like Oracle), and even less to the client process being serviced by that server s/w.

  • How to find out how many memory is used for NIO

is there any way to find out how many memory is used for nio in a virtual machine. ?
I know that is possible to find out how many total, free and used memory the heap has by using java.lang.Runtime#totalMemory...
We sometimes expect errors that it is not possible to create any more connections because of the NIO memory size but the heap is still ok. Today we had an error where 170mbytes of heap where left but it was not possible to create new tcp connections because of an exception:
javax.naming.NamingException: java.net.SocketException: No buffer space available (maximum connections reached?): connect
The number of TCP-Connections was ok (<500).
It would be very nice if someone knows how to find out how the amount of memory that NIO buffers use can be determined within Java 1.4.
    best regards
    benjamin

We have to use 1.4.2_03. This is because of the special environment we are running on.
We did also figured out that there are some NIO Memory Bugs but we since we are not allowed to upgrade the used Virtual Machine we have to live with these errors.
The problem that we currently have is within a Server and because of this circumstance we are trying to find a workaround or way to find out how many memory is allocated. If we would know how to get this value we could restart the servers as a workaround after the value reaches a threshold.
We are also very sad that we can`t easily upgrade/update to the latest 1.4.2 Version or the newest 1.5 to get rid of these NIO Bugs!

  • How many elements in an array?

Sounds like a simple question, right?
    Apparently not.
    LV 2010
I have a huge data structure, stored in DataLog files (thousands of them).
I want to convert this structure to Name/Value pairs ("Operator_Name", "Joe Smith"), for use in a TDMS file.
The structure is a cluster, with various clusters inside that, and inside those are DBLs, strings, BOOLs, other clusters, arrays, you name it.
My strategy is to obtain the CONTROLS[ ] property of the outermost cluster and call this VI.
The VI processes each control, decoding what type it is and handling it accordingly.
It works fine for STRINGs, NUMERICs, ENUMs, BOOLEANs, COMBOBOXes, TIMESTAMPS, and CLUSTERs.
For those simple ones, I use the LABEL.TEXT as the NAME and get the value (based on what type it is) as the VALUE.
For a CLUSTER, I get the CONTROLS[ ] array of the cluster and call myself recursively, to handle all the elements within the sub-cluster.
    That all works fine.
But to handle an ARRAY, I'm stumped.
Attached is the code showing the case for an ARRAY.
What I'm doing is getting the CLASS NAME of the current control.
I LEGALIZE the label name (turn spaces into underscores, and maybe other special handling later).
For an ARRAY, I cast the generic CTL reference into an ARRAY reference, and get its VALUE.
I want to loop over each element of the array, and modify the name by the index number, and process each element.
There are arrays of STRINGS, arrays of DBLs, arrays of CLUSTERs - all types.
The question is - how many array elements are there?
The constant "10" in this diagram is a dummy - just there to see if it works.
it does work, except that I get 10 sets of answers, whether the real array has 2 or 20 elements.
I thought the array's VALUE would be an ARRAY of VARIANTs, but no - it's a single VARIANT.
I can't use VARIANT to DATA on the array's VALUE - I don't know what TYPE the array is.
I thought maybe the ARRELEM refnum would be NIL if I was past the end, but that's not the case - there's only one refnum for any array element, whether it exists or not.
If I check for errors, it complains that I cannot set the INDEXVALS property of a strict typedef array, even though it works just fine.
If there was a method to SELECT ALL on the array, I could use the SELECTION SIZE to figure out how many elements there are, but I see no such method.
The NUMBER OF ROWS / COLUMNS refers to the number of VISIBLE rows/columns, and has nothing to do with how much data is present.
So... How do I find out how many elements are in the array?

The ArrElem reference property is not a reference to any particular element of the array.
On the contrary, it is a reference to the element addressed by the current ARRAY INDEX(es).
That's why my code above can read out the values for element 0, element 1, etc.  I've verified that this works.
There is only one set of PROPERTIES for the array elements; if you use the ArrElem refnum to set a background color of blue, then ALL elements turn blue, but you can obtain the VALUE of a given element by setting the ARRAY INDEX(es) and accessing via the ArrElem.
I was thinking that maybe LabVIEW did a trick by setting this to NIL to indicate "no such element", but that's not the case.
In any case, the question remains: How do I determine how many elements there are?
The VALUE of the array is a variant: just what is in that package?
As I said, I don't see how to use VARIANT TO DATA; I don't know what kind of data it is.

  • How many DAQ tasks per loop?

Hi to everybody, I hope anybody can help me with the next case:
I am working on a system in which I have to read signals of 5 different sensors which have different ways to communicate (4 - 20 mA, voltage, RS-232, ModBUS, etc.) with the DAQ Device (cDAQ in my case), at same time when I am reading the variables I must check for the state of several digital inputs to verify connections and if any is interrupt I must stop the Data Acquisition.
My question is if is recommendable to put all the tasks in a single loop with the logic shown in the attached image.
Or if I should divide the tasks in a multiple loop architecture.
If the answer is the second, my next question is: How many DAQ tasks per loop is OK?, my doubt is based on the number of variables that I am going to read
and the different ways to get the measures, specially which are by protocols (ModBUS, RS-232), all this by the response time.
Thanks in advance, all suggestions are welcome!

I would recommend using a loop just for control and UI events.  It should only have an event structure.  Don't use the timeout case, since that just turns the system into a polling.  Use Queues to send data from the controller loop to your other loops and User Events to send data back to the controller looop.

In OBYC, we have maintained GBB & WRX Transaction key's for Service PO, Is there any other Transaction key skip???
    Please guide...

    Hi,
GBB is used for Offsetting entry for inventory posting but for Service procurement WRX Transaction key is used for GR/IR clearing-service.
NOTE: You may use WRX with new account modifier ZZZ  to triggers GR/IR clearing-service only for service procurement where you need to post all separate GR/IR clearing- material , GR/IR clearing-asset and GR/IR clearing-service and can done with user exit.
#But in special case GBB can be used with VBR key or copy of VBR as ZBR for default G/L account foe service PO.

  • How many types of transactions in ABAP

How many types of transactions in ABAP

    Hi,
    Transactions
The normal way of executing ABAP code in the SAP system is by entering a transaction code. Transactions can be accessed via system-defined or user-specific, role-based menus. They can also be started by entering their transaction code (a mnemonic name of up to 20 characters) in the special command field, which is present in every SAP screen. Transactions can also be invoked programmatically by means of the ABAP statements CALL TRANSACTION and LEAVE TO TRANSACTION. Transaction codes can also be linked to screen elements or menu entries. Selecting such an element will start the transaction. The term "transaction" must not be misunderstood here: in the context just described, a transaction simply means calling and executing an ABAP program. In application programming, "transaction" often refers to an indivisible operation on data, which is either committed as a whole or undone (rolled back) as a whole. This concept exists in SAP but is there called a LUW (Logical Unit of Work). In the course of one transaction (program execution), there can be different LUWs.
Letu2019s have a look at the different kind of transactions:
    Dialog transaction
These are the most common kind of transactions. The transaction code of a dialog transaction is linked to a Dynpro of an ABAP program. When the transaction is called, the respective program is loaded and the Dynpro is called. Therefore, a dialog transaction calls a Dynpro sequence rather than a program. Only during the execution of the Dynpro flow logic are the dialog modules of the ABAP program itself are called. The program flow can differ from execution to execution. You can even assign different dialog transaction codes to one program.
    Parameter transaction
In the definition of a parameter transaction code, a dialog transaction is linked with parameters. When you call a parameter transaction, the input fields of the initial Dynpro screen of the dialog transaction are filled with parameters. The display of the initial screen can be inhibited by specifying all mandatory input fields as parameters of the transaction.
    Variant transaction
In the definition of a variant transaction code, a dialog transaction is linked with a transaction variant. When a variant transaction is accessed, the dialog transaction is called and executed with the transaction variant. In transaction variants, you can assign default values to the input fields on several Dynpro screens in a transaction, change the attributes of screen elements, and hide entire screens. Transaction variants are maintained in transaction SHD0.
    Report transaction
A report transaction is the transaction code wrapping for starting the reporting process. The transaction code of a report transaction must be linked with the selection screen of an executable program. When you execute a report transaction, the runtime environment internally executes the ABAP statement SUBMITu2014more to come on that.
    OO transaction
A new kind of transaction as of release 6.10. The transaction code of an OO transaction is linked with a method of a local or global class. When the transaction is called, the corresponding program is loaded, for instance methods an object of the class is generated and the method is executed.
    Reward Points if found helpfull..
    Cheers,

  • BI: How many bytes consumes an Infocube or DSO in Database

    Hi Colleagues,
is there an easy way, to find out, how many MB an Infocube or an DSO consumes actually on DB.
    Thanks ans regards,
    Wolfgang

Well yes ST14 can take a while to run, but this is largely dependent on data volumes, so while it might be 15 hrs on one BW, it might be 1 hr on another.  There are some parallel processing options on it as well.
    Should look something like this:

  • How many break points and watchpoints are allowed in ECC 6.0

    Hi,
Can any one say how many break points and watchpoints are allowed in ECC 6.0

    Hi ,
A breakpoint is a signal at a particular point in the program that tells the ABAP runtime processor to interrupt processing and start the Debugger. The Debugger is activated when the program reaches this point.Max 30 breakpoints we can use.
There is a special kind of breakpoint called a watchpoint. When you use watchpoints, the Debugger is not activated until the contents of a particular field change ie...Watchpoints allow you the option of monitoring the content of individual variables. The Debugger stops as soon as the value of the monitored variable changes. You can use max of 5 watchpoints.
    Difference
    1. Break Point.
At particular LINE of SOURCE CODE,
    the system will STOP there.
    2. Watch Point.
If you want to interrupt a program when the contents of a field or structure change, use a watchpoint. You can set up to five watchpoints, including watchpoints for strings.
(For this, we have to give some
VARIABLE NAME & VARIABLE VALUE - with relational operator)
    When this CONDITION gets satisfied,
(anywhere during the execution of the program),
the system will AUTOMATICALLY STOP THERE.
(EG when the value of matnr reaches the specified value)
That is the purpose of WATCHPOINT
(the system will WATCH it, like a dog)
    Please go through this link:
    Watchpoint Vs breakpoint
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/c6/617cdce68c11d2b2ab080009b43351/content.htm
Like a breakpoint, a watchpoint is an indicator in a program that tells the ABAP runtime processor to interrupt the program at a particular point. Unlike breakpoints, however, watchpoints are not activated until the contents of a specified field change. Watchpoints, like dynamic breakpoints, are user-specific, and so do not affect other users running the same program. You can only define watchpoints in the Debugger. Watchpoints allow you the option of monitoring the content of individual variables.
The Debugger stops as soon as the value of the monitored variable changes.
In addition, conditions can be specified. The Debugger also checks whether such a condition is fulfilled.
