It seems every time an extension or theme updates, bing is pestering me again. This happens on several machines, running firefox 3.6.12 on ubuntu 10.04, 10.10, and win 7.

Complain to the developers of the extensions that are attempting to install anything besides the update of their own extension.

My son forget the passcode to his phone after not having it for some time, he doesn't want to permanently disable his phone. How many attempts does he have before he has to connect it to itunes and restore his phone?

From my experience, if you try to enter wrong password continuously for 5 times, it gets temporarily disabled for a minute. You can try again after a minute or so...

How many times will I have to update Genius before it 'knows' my collection?

I have 14,000 songs in my library (iPod 160G, version 2.0.4, Windows) but Genius only seems to know about 1,000 of them. The same tracks get chosen for the 'canned' Genius mixes and for the Genius mixes that I create myself. I make a point of updating Genius manually every few days. Is there a way I can get it updated all at once?

I'm on my 3rd one.
First one got stuck at apple logo restored too many times and I gave up for an exchange.
Second one had cracks at the bottom near the connector and dust under the glass
Third one now still have some dust under the glass but not as noticeable, so probably I'll keep that one.
But all three of them have crashed and get stuck at Apple Logo. Bad 3G reception, and unstable Apps.
This is my first Apple product, and probably will be the last! Apple you need to have better quality control and more field testing and debug your software. I know you are in a hurry to compete with Google Android but you forget the most important thing, it's a communication device! Can't reset the phone when stuck at Apple logo without using iTunes is ridiculous! This is the most unstable PDA phone I have ever used!!!!!! Even Microsoft's Windows Mobile are far better and stable than your iPhone weak 3G.

When I went to dl FF4 on my laptop, it showed where to dl it, which I did and it completed. Then my next window showing a Firefox main page offered again "Click to Download FF4." So question, do you have to download it again or is the second dl category additional to it??????

You're running v3.6.16 at the moment. There was a security release issued which updates it to 3.6.18 and which you can download by going to Help | Check For Updates.
If you want to upgrade one step further to 4.0, then yes, you have to follow the same steps again (sorry).
Whatever you do though, it's important you update your plugins. Some of them are out of date which exposes your PC to attack. You can check to see which ones you need by going to [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/ Check Plugins]

Hi, Sorry if I got the wrong board, I wasn't sure where to post this. Does anyone know how much you listen to something before Spotify tells your friends about it? Weirdly, when I'm browsing on a friend's account, a bunch of albums I listen to quite infrequently have my face on them, whereas some of the ones I listen to all the time don't seem to. This doesn't really bother me, but I was wondering if anyone knew any more about it :) Thanks

How many refurbished devices to you have to get before you stop getting broken ones and get a new one

I have the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 from Verizon. It is a black, 32 GB phone. I received my first one in February and around the first of June I started having issues that I could not answer the phone. It would ring and then lock up. I would have to shut off the phone and turn it back on to then call the number back. I am a Deputy Sheriff, assigned as a school resource officer for an elementary of approximately 950 children and a high school of approximately 700. I rely on the phone heavily for communications in this position. Email and messaging are a must. I received the refurbished phone on June 03 and I immediately had an issue with the naive email application. When I took it back to Verizon, they informed me the only way to correct the issue was to use a 3rd party application. The original phone worked fine with the native app. The phone then continued to have other issues and I have been into Verizon on 3 occasions since the 3rd with issues. In the past 24 hours, this refurbished phone has developed an issue with the soft keys on the bottom of the device. The menu key and the back key have stopped working. They light up, but do not function beyond that. I spoke with Verizon and they are sending me another "broken" and refurbished phone. I asked what I had to do to get a new phone and not a broken one and they told me to call Samsung, they could make that happen. I contacted Samsung and they told me they could only have me send it in for repair, that Verizon is the only one that determines to replace with a new phone or a refurbished phone. So I anticipate receiving my new, broken phone that has been refurbished on Monday or Tuesday of this coming week. If this one fails as well, do I get a 4th broken phone, or what is my options. Thanks for the answer. I am aware of what the refurb is suppose to be, however, I find that more often than not, they crash pretty quickly. I did the safe mode for 3 days, reloading apps one at a time and I did not find anything that was not compatible. I am not sure why this device is locking up, but I know that in my job, I need to count on the phone way to much to have to keep sending it back. I would buy out the early edge, but I read in one of the posts where a guy did that and Verizon would not accept it because it was a refurb and not the original. Seems no matter what, the customer that pays on time, for many years always loses

I set restrictions on my iphone to disable some apps and save battery. Unfortunately i set it a year ago and I've used it forgotten the password and now I cannot remember it.
I tried to type the password but i did twice failed passcode, i wonder how many time i can enter the failed passcodes before my iphone will be locked forever.

If you've forgotten the password, the number of times that the device will accept an invalid password is irrelevant.
Do as the manual says, restore the device using the computer it normally syncs with and restore as new. Restoring from backup will not remove the restrictions passcode.

When you gte requests to locate iTunes.msi like this, the Microsoft Installer Cleanup utility usually fixes it.
Here is a method for removal, clean up and reinstall of iTunes.

Save the files on your PC.

Rebooting will not make you lose any content. Rebooting is when you hold the home button and the sleep button down at the same time until the Apple logo appears on the screen.
You can these suggestions. One might work for you.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.

Perhaps the unclear part here is that the Cloud is a subscription offering. You never pay for it outright and never actually own it.
12 months pre-paid simply means paying the full 12 months subscription upfront. The following year, you do the same. And the same every year after that.
Like any subscription, if you want to keep using the software, you keep paying the monthly (or annual) fee every month (or year), year in, year out.
When you cancel your subscription, or it expires and you don't renew, then the software stops working.
