How many usb ports (if any) does the 30 inch display have?

I am getting the new mac pro I know apple is going to kill the 30 inch display but as they have not done so yet I was wandering how many usb ports does it have?

Hi macnewcomer22,
Instead of buying the Apple 30" Cinema Display, for not much more you could buy the NEC Multisync 3090WQXi, which incorporates later technology and was awarded Best in Show at MacWorld.
The Apple 30" is a good display, but the technology is about 5 years old, and later models from other manufacturers, noticeably NEC, have surpassed it:

http://www.pcpro.co.uk/reviews/monitors/242010/nec-multisync-lcd3090wqxi
I purchased the standard Multisync version, without the Spectraview II software, in July 2009, and I have found it to be excellent in all respects:
http://www.nec-display-solutions.co.uk/p/uk/en/products/details/dp/Products/LCD/ Current/LCD-3090WQXi/LCD-3090WQXi.xhtml?e=e1s1
Although most resellers only stock the 3090WQXi in black, it is also available in a silver finish, which looks great alongside a Mac Pro.

Bill

    Hi:
According to the user guide at the link below, chapter 2, pp 3 - 5, there is one USB 2.0 port on one side of the notebook and 2 USB 3.0 ports on the other side of the notebook.

I do not own a g6 model notebook so I cannot provide any further information regarding it.

  • Exactly How many USB busses and what does "Hi-Speed" mean?

    Hello:
I cannot find the answer to this in the forums. Can someone tell me how many unique USB busses there are on a Mac Pro 2008. To which ports are they assigned?
When I look in System Profiler, one port (buss?) is labeled "Hi-Speed". What does that mean if all are 2.0? Should my higher bandwidth video devices use this buss/port?
    Thanks.

Four. The two rear ports and the two front ports. Hi-speed means USB 2.0. How it appears in System Profiler depends on the USB device connected. If the device only supports USB 1.x, then it will show the port as supporting 12 Mb/s. The keyboard is a USB 1.x device, for example. An individual ports speed defaults to the slowest device on that bus (assumes chained devices or devices connected to an external hub such as the keyboard.)

  • Does the new Thunderbolt display have any advantages over the current 27" iMac

Other than being 3kg lighter and including a sub (2.1 stereo system) rather than just stereo speakers, are there any advantages of the new Thunderbolt display over the current 27" iMac?
We need a new desktop very soon, and will eventually upgrade to an Mac Pro (not until a post Lion version comes out with Thunderbolt built in).  We were contemplating a MacMini Server and a Thunderbolt display, but for only a little extra (weight and cash) we could get a more powerfull 27" iMac.  Are there any benefits of the Thunderbolt display that are not included in the top end 27" iMac?  I'm assuming it's just the same 27" LED backlit TFT LCD with IPS...
In the end we would probably end up using the iMac or display as a display for a Mac Pro (we're photographers), so if there are significant benefits of the Thunderbolt Display, we'll just get it with the Mini as a stopgap.

The only real advantage of the new 27" ACD is that you can easily move it from one unit to another (Mini to MBP to Pro, etc).  If you bought a 27" iMac you could always hook up another display to the iMac and run dual monitors fairly easily.
The advantage of the Pro is that you can add a bigger video card, lots more RAM and up to 4 hard drives.  If you plan on buying a Pro as soon as it comes out, get the Mini, if not get the iMac (it will save you a bit of space over a ACD and a Mini).  I think the real question is, what do you think you are going to use more in the future.
And yes, the 27" iMac and the 27" ACD use the same IPS screen.

  • Does the 24 inch display come with everything?

I am going to be getting a new macbook pro soon, and I was wondering if the new 24 inch display comes with all of the cables needed to hook it up to the laptop, or do i have to by them separately?

Yes it does. It has one cable out of the back of the display which splits into 3 at the other end (USB, DisplayPort and Power). It's sweet.

  • Does anyone know if the new ipad air has a usb port. This is the only downside to the ipad to me? My samsung galaxy tab has 2. 1 being a micro usb. Great for connecting to the tv.     Thanks, greenlady5.

Does anyone know if the new ipad sir, not yet available will have a usb port? This is the only thing that is prevented me from purchasing so far. Doesn't make sense when you can connect to tv.
                                                                       ggreenlady5.

The standard external connection and charge port on all recently-announced (October 2014) models in the US is the Lightning connector, introduced with the iPad 4 in Sept 2012. http://techcrunch.com/2012/09/12/apples-new-lightning-connector-what-it-does-and -doesnt-change/
This includes iPad Air, iPad Air 2, iPad mini, iPad mini 2 with Retina display and iPad mini 3.

NOTE: The original iPad (2010), iPad 2 (2011), iPad 3 (early 2012) came with a 30-pin connector, also common to original iPhones and iPods.
Additional adapters are available to connect TV's, cameras, SD memory cards, and similar devices, from many sources, including the Apple Store online. (Adapters are still available for the older iDevices using the 30-pin connector as well)

  • How many LAG ports on the Dell PowerConnect 8024F?

    My new deployment
    1 x Equallogic PS4110XV with 2 controllers / 4 network ports
    3 x ESXi 5 Hosts
    2 x Dell PowerConnect 8024F 10 Gbps switch
2 x network ports from the Equallogic PS 4110XV will be connected to each of the PowerConnect 8024F switches
So how many LAG ports do I need to created on each of the PowerConnect 8024F switches?
Some says 4 and some says 2?
Or will it be better if I were to do stacking? I think the 8024F is capable of doing stacking..
I've attached a diagram of the setup. Thanks.

Is your question on how to set up link aggregation for the connections to the ESXi hosts or to the SAN?

MacBook Air, OS X Mountain Lion (10.9.1)

Obviously, syncing an iOS device with iTunes over USB is still supported in Mavericks. Calendar and contact syncing with iTunes is no longer supported. That has nothing to do with your problem.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).

When my iPhone is connected (via the Lightning cable) to the usb port in my car, the alert tones are no longer played through the car speaker or the phone.  This previously worked, but has randomly stopped working. help!

I took my iPhone to the Service center of M/s RSG INFOTECH PRIVATE LIMITED on April 17, 2014.
Why are you posting in this forum about what occured with an independent service provider?  How is is at all relevant to Apple??  In fact, service by any person or business not authorized by Apple voids any waranty.

  • Shuffle is not recognized thru 2013 Santa Fe usb port.  Any suggestions?

Shuffle is not recognized thru 2013 Santa Fe usb port.  Any suggestions?

You should consult the documentation or tech support for the car audio system, to see if a shuffle is supported as a device connected to the USB port.  Also, there may be a setting on the car audio system, where you tell it that you are connecting an iPod to the USB port, and not something generic like a USB flash drive with song files.
When you connect an iPod to a USB port on a car audio system, it is just acting as a storage device.  The car audio system is reading song files off the iPod and doing all the playing.  Therefore, you may want to use a cheap USB flash drive with song files for this purpose, instead of an iPod.  Here's one that barely sticks out of the USB port
    http://eshop.macsales.com/item/SanDisk/SDCZ33008G/
and has four times more storage compared to a 2GB shuffle.  You can also leave it connected to the car audio system, except when you want to update its songs, instead of having to constantly connect and remove an iPod.  If you forget your iPod in your car, extreme heat or cold can cause damage.

  • How many threads can be running at the same time

    Hi!!
Dows anyone knows how many Threads can be running at the same time in the JVM.
I'm making a multi thread client-server app and I would like to know how much simultneous connections the JVM support. I'm using one Thread per connection.

Hi, thanks to all for your answers.
I think that I made the wrong question, as you said: "that means the number of threads currently created".
I'm worry about this because my application is already online (It's a mail server -SMTP and POP3 server using ORACLE for the users database- ) and some other user post in the "multi-tread forum" that almost any JVM can only have 700 threads created at the same time, and I've never heard or read anything about this.
what you mean with the stack space (memory??)
I'm using the JavaWebServer 2.0 and a servlet to start the main Thread.
Again Thanks to all for the answers but I think that the schapel answer is the one that solve my doubt...

  • How much ram does the iPhone 6 Plus have?

How much ram does the iPhone 6 Plus have?

This is what I got on the info....
IPhone’s RAM has been very little, even pitiful compared to other flagships. Now 1GB RAM is still the standard configuration for the current iPhone 5 / 5s and iPhone 6.
Is Apple’s system optimization can really never need to increase the memory capacity? Obviously the answer is no. Recently, GSMArena published a sheet of iPhone 6 Plus detailed specifications, we can clearly see the “2GB RAM” in the memory list.
GSMArena also posted the benchmark score for iPhone 6 yesterday, but we seen that A8 GPU not seem to improve a lot in the processing capability compared to A7 – only increased 4.65%.
Apple usually not declare the detailed hardware parameters of their products, because those indicators not have too many advantages compared to other similar products, and even looks a bit shabby. But for Apple, these are not the most important, the company always focusing on the overall performance and user experience of the product. iPhone 6 Plus is the largest ever. Apple has said the iPhone 6 Plus screen reached 1080P in the event, as a larger screen means more resource consumption, and the processor needs to handle higher pixel image, so increasing RAM is the best choice to enhance stability and performance.
So based on the above evidence and our speculate, iPhone 6 is indeed possible with 2GB RAM. If in doubt, all we could wait is finding out the truth after dismantling the device. Course this just may be a beginning, we also expect Apple can give more memory for the upcoming next-generation iPad and iPad Mini.
