How many VGA monitors a new Mac Pro Support?

hello! sorry for bad english! writing through a translator. tell me how many monitors can be connected to a mac pro 2013-14. examined the information - say, you can connect two monitors via passive dvi adapter and four through the vga adapter or six monitors through the vga adapter. Please help, since you can not buy 6 monitors display port or thunderbolt. already have 6 monitors dvi/vga, but I'm afraid to buy a mac pro, because monitors can not connect. Thank you friends!

I want to connect 6 vga or dvi monitors.
I'm sorry, translation via google translate
Mac pro ordered, paid money. Now I worry that I won't be able to connect 6 vga monitors. I already have 6 vga of monitors, don't want to buy 6 thunderbolt monitors
thanks!!!
PS VGA adopters are all active. It means mac pro supports six vga monitors?

  • How can I configure my new Mac Pro to output the timeline via HDMI

How can I configure my new Mac Pro to output the timeline in FCP 7 (yes, I have X, but I'm using 7 right now). I have two monitors running from TB2, but want to have the third for a client monitor.
If I use all three via TB2, it's literally three monitors, and I want to edit on my CineDisplay. I only want the client to see the timeline video on the third monitor. When I hook up HDMI I get no signal, in fact, I can't have the HDMI cable hooked up for TB2 to work with the third.

If you use all ThunderBolt displays, or stick with DisplayPort and Mini DisplayPort (free conversion between the two with only a cheap cable) you can have up to six displays.
If you attach "legacy" displays with "any-old adapter", you can have up to two, and the built-in HDMI counts as one if you use it.
    Any more requires ACTIVE Adapters.
The US$100 Apple ACTIVE Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI adapter works in every case, even displays over 1920 wide.
StarTech and Accell make US$35 ACTIVE adpters that work for displays up to 1920 wide.

  • Does the new mac pro support the Apple cinema display

Does the new mac pro support the Apple cinema display

There is no 2007 23" Cinema Display
There is a 2002 23" display that has the Apple ADC connector
    http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/09/AppleDisplayConnector.jpg
There is also the 2004 23" display with a DVI connector.
For the latter you just need a mini display port to DVI connector that plugs into the Thunderbolt port
For the former you need that connector plu an DVI to ADC connector

  • Can you use a VGA monitor on the Mac Pro model?

I'm considering getting a new Mac Pro to replace my beloved PowerMac G4 MDD. I have a ViewSonic Graphics Series 19" CRT monitor (VGA) that I use as a palette monitor, with a 19" SyncMaster LED as my main monitor (DVI). My PowerMac's video card has both DVI and VGA ports.
Will I be able to use my VGA monitor with the basic Mac Pro (MB871LL/A)? Will a DVI/VGA video port adapter work, and if so, will it work well? Thanks.

I had two 19" Viewsonic WS monitors hooked up to my X1900XT on my MacPro and it worked just fine with the VGA/DVI adapters (I got the small 2" white adapters that don't have any "cord" in the middle. I swapped them out for two 22" WS Acer monitors and now use the DVI inputs and I am still happy.

  • LG Monitor and New Mac Pro -- Colours out of Whack

I have an LG L226WT and a 20" Apple Cinema Display connected to a brand new Mac Pro.
Both monitors (in the same configuration) were running on my old PowerMac G5 before.
The Cinema Display works fine, colours are good, so is light etc.
The LG first had ghosting (severe at that) and this morning the colours are totally out of whack. Looking at some photos I had taken a week ago and colour corrected on the G5 now look like a child painted them (on the LG monitor, on the Cinemadisplay they are fine).
It's not the graphics card either. If I take a screenshot on the LG and look at it on the Cinemadisplay the colours etc. are correct, but the LG is right now pretty useless to me. I tried to calibrate it but the end result is pretty much the same, it just does not seem to want to play nice.
I don't think it is the DVI cable, as it is securely screwed in and in the same location as on the PowerMac, turning the monitor off / on seems to resolve the shadow problem but not the colour issue.
Anybody have experienced this? Any tips outside of trashing the LG and buying a new screen?

The ghosting issue is still one when I first turn the computer on. I found that I have to turn the monitor off and on and it resolves the issue.
I also found the source of my colour problem, it comes down to the LG "resetting" itself to some "automatic improvement" or whatever you want to call it, which completely messed with the tones. After I turned that "feature" off it worked well, but man, that took me three days to figure out.

  • Old Apple Monitor, Brand New Mac Pro

I just bought a new 8-core Mac Pro but my old Apple 17" CRT won't connect to it. I was planning to use the DVI connector (just like I did on my old G4), but it seems that the connections on the new video card have gotten smaller.
My new Mac has the ATI 1900XT video card.
Is there an adapter I can buy from old DVI to new DVI? Please help, I've been itching to play with my new Mac!
I am planning on getting a new Apple LCD monitor, but I can't afford it at the moment (because of the new Mac Pro).

  • How to transfer fcp7 to new mac pro mavericks

    OSX 10.9.5
    2014 Mac Pro (trash can)
    2.7 GHz 12 Core Intel Xeon E5
    32GB 1867 MHz DDR3
Hey everyone, I need some help.
I would like to transfer FCP7 to my recently purchased Mac Pro.
I'm in the process of upgrading, but first need FCP7 to work before making all the final changes.
I would attempt a clean install but the original FCS, along with the FCP7 upgrade discs are currently lost ever since I moved from NY TO MN.
I migrated FCP7 directly from my 2010 Mac Pro into the new Mac Pro applications folder. But immedialetly after trying to launch FCP7 I get "Final Cut Pro cannot be opened because of a problem."
Did I miss any hidden files or folders located elsewhere in the CPU?
I would like to run FCP7 on the new Mac Pro (2014) from my previously purchased copy currently located on my older Mac Pro (2010) which is also running Mavericks.
I hope I made enough sense to you all, enough to get pointed in the right direction.
    Peace and thank you,
    B-NYC

How did you do this? Without the original install discs, your only option it to use the Migration Assistant.app.
If you just copied the application, it will not work.
If you did get if from your older computer via the Migration Assistant.app, then trash your FCP preferences.
You can download (free) Preference Manager from Digital Rebellion and it will do all the work for you:

Your FCP preferences will be reset to default settings the next time you launch FCP.

  • How to copy apps to new Mac Pro?

Is there an easy way to copy the applications from my G4 to my new Mac Pro? It would be nice if at least some of them can be moved over along with the user licenses.

If they are Universal Binary and can be just dragged to /Applications you are probably fine, but if they use an installer, then only migrate your home account folder and install fresh. Good to collect and keep all your software downloads and updates in one place.
PPC and Intel are different operating systems and support libraries, at least with Tiger, and can cause anything from sluggish weird performance to downright nasty.

  • How Will iMovie Run on New Mac Pro (late 2013)?

Is iMovie v10 ever likely to be upgraded to support the multiple-cores in the new Mac Pro (late 2013) the way Final Cut Pro X does? If not, will a fast iMac run iMovie about as well as the new Mac Pro (late 2013)?

No one here knows what Apples plans are for iMovie?
I think it's fair to say everything will run faster on the new MacPro but I don't think it's a reason by itself to upgrade hardware.
iMovie 10.0.9 runs just fine on my 2010 iMac.

  • Will the new Mac Pro support VMware fusion?

We've all been waiting patiently for the new Mac Pro. Is VMware Fusion 6.x going to be compatible?

Does VMware Fusion run on Mavericks?  Assume the new MacPro ships "Real Soon Now", then Mavericks will be the operating system, and genrally speaking that is more important then the actual Mac.
If you have a Mac running Mavericks AND if VMware Fusion runs there, then it should run on the new MacPros, but until the new MacPro actually ships, no one can be sure.
And if VMware does not work, there is always Parallels and VirtualBox.

  • Radeon 5770 - How many VGA Monitors at Once?

I've read many of the existing Discussions on what type, and how many, Monitors can be connected at once to the Radeon 5770 Graphics Card. I still have 1 question for anyone that might be able to help me out.
I have 2 - Flat Screen Monitors (?LCD/LED? Circa 2005)  --- They are connected via VGA
Ill skip a story that is to long to tell, but I woke up with a Win XP DAW (I built between 2002-2003), using the two monitors via VGA Cards/Cables. The machine was borrowed while I was gone, and is now, basically dead, or at least beyond my ability to repair. I looking to replace it with a Mac Pro and the 5770 seems to be a standard in the DAWs I looked into. But, regardless of the Video Card Model/Name, Technologoy has changed over the past few years and I've lost track of 'what' does 'what'.
My question: Will the Radeon 5770, the card that comes with the Mac Pro DAW, run both of the monitors simultaneously?
Both monitors have, along with VGA Inputs, DVI Inputs. I only have VGA Cables and I'm about to find out how much the DVI Cables will cost, though for now anyway, I'd like to stay with the VGAs.
I'm looking for the easiest, and least expensive way, to get the Mac up and running on both screens right Out-of-the-Box.
If the screens need to be updated to improve performance (?), that can always happen at a later time.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! I'm at a loss for knowledge on anything that changed, or advanced, over the past 5+ years.
    Thanks Again!
    Thankfully, cMorr

Thanks for the info! Its the 1st thing I read that made sense n thnx for the link too
I may check out the Dual-Link DVI for the bigger Monitor I'll use for Sibelius and stay VGA on the Monitor I have Gigastudio on. Again, just for now, until I can update the screens. The next project will be to get Giga on a separate Mac. I found out they don't even make Gigastudio anymore, but I had so much $$$ invested in the samples sets that it would kill me to throw it away. The guys selling the DAW are trying to push some other Sampling Software and are telling me that they dont have any programs that will run any *.gig files (?) - But that's another weeks adventure on the iNet.
    Tnx again!

  • Will the new mac pro support a vga display thru the thunderbolt expansion?

We are getting ready to purchase mac pro, but we need to drive a small vga display from thunderbolt.  Is this possible, and will it use the mini-display to VGA adaptor?

Of course. Thunderbolt (and Thunderbolt 2) supports Mini DisplayPort adapters to connect external displays, so get a Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter and a VGA cable to connect the Mac Pro to the external display. Image will start showing in the external display after connecting it.

  • How many ATI 5770 cards can Mac Pro hold?

I just bought a Mac Pro 6-core with two 5770 graphics cards and running two 30 inch monitors. Is there enough space left to install one more 5770 card so I can run three 30 displays...or is two the max it will hold because of the the size/thickness of the cards?
    Message was edited by: cameraguy

There are only enough auxiliary power connectors for two 5770 cards, however you only need one to run three 30" displays. With two cards, you can use six displays.
Each card has one dual-link DVI port and two Mini DisplayPorts. To connct a 30" to a Mini DisplayPort you need a Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter.

  • How many install disc does the Mac Pro come with? Snow leopard is preinstalled.

I have an application install disc that has ilife and a few others but I'm thinking that I may have disc for the system and optional installs somewhere.
I bought the mac pro tower in march of 2010.
I cant remember what came with it.
I thought I would ask before I start digging around in my messy office!

Two Disks: Install Disk & an Applications Disk. You can call AppleCare, if you lost yours, and for a small fee they will send you one.

  • Multiple Monitors on New Mac Pro

We cannot get more than 3 monitors operational on either of our new MacPro systems.    We have contacted Tech support and they apparently agree... So we're looking for options.
    This is what we need:
Monitor 1:    Connected from HDMI port to HP LP2475w computer monitor
Monitor 2:    Connected from Thunderbolt bus 01 using Thunderbolt to DVI port to HP LP2475w computer monitor
Monitor 3:    Connected from Thunderbolt bus 02 using Thunderbolt to SDI (Black magic mini adapter)  to Highend Broadcast color accurate 1080p Monitor
Monitor 4:    Connected from Thunderbolt bus 00 using Thunderbolt to DVI port to WACOM pen tablet
We can successfully connect ANY 3 of the above monitors, up to 3 of them,  in various configurations with success.  If we try to any a 4th monitor, it simply does not work.
We have tried every concievable selection of post configurations with zero success with any thing more than 3 monitors....
HAs ANYONE successfully gotten more than 3 monitors running on a new MacPro and if so how ?
    cheers

    Regarding the Bug in 10.9.3:
One of my colleagues (Wjosten) has suggested:
"If you use Internet Recovery to reinstall OS X, it installs the version of OS X that originally came with your computer."
So if this is a deal-breaker, the suggestion is to invoke Recovery_HD and use it to Re-Install [the old version of] Mac OS X over the Internet. Once complete, very selectively search for the individual updates that take you back to the last working version.
