How modify material group in agreement scheduling

I want to modify material group in agreement scheduling, I try with Bapi 'BAPI_SAG_CHANGE' but it's not possible.
Have you a solution ??

Impacts of changing material group
1) If ur release strategy is based on material group it needs to modify ( Material group as charactaristics)
2)If u r trying to extract any reports based on material group u will find discrepency bet reports as u r changing M.Group in betn.
3)The data in the Info systems and BW etc. are updated with the the "old" material group and so if you tried to compare them you would find differences.
changing M . Group will not cause any major prob. but only reporting problems

How to modify material number in MM01

Hi Guru,
I want to modify material number in MM01 according to the material group selected by the user. For example if material group 100 is selected, the material number should be 100xxxxx, 200 is selected, number should be 200xxxxx. I tried coding in user exit MGA00001, everything is fine except the classification view was not updated by the generated material number. How can I achieve this?

In this step you create material groups.
You also have the option of using the same transaction to carry out the following activities:
Creating superior hierarchy levels
Assigning the superior hierarchy levels to a material group hierarchy
Assigning the base material group to the material group hierarchy
Assigning characteristics profiles below material group level
Requirements
Your R/3 System is configured as an SAP Retail System.
Activities
1. Create superior hierarchy levels
   You create hierarchy levels using transaction WG01 (creating
   material groups) via menu options MG environment --> Hierarchy
   level --> Create
2. Assign the superior hierarchy levels to a material group hierarchy
   You assign hierarchy levels to a hierarchy using transaction WG01
   (creating material groups) via menu options MG environment -->
   Hierarchy level --> Maint. MG hierarchy
3. Create material groups (base material groups) and then maintain the
   pre-defined materials (reference material/material group material)
4. Assign the base material group to the material group hierarchy
   You assign the material group to the hierarchy using transaction
   WG01 (creating material groups)
5. Assign characteristics profiles below material group level
   You assign characteristics profiles using transaction WG01
   (creating material groups)
Further notes
When creating material groups and then maintaining the pre-defined materials (reference material/material group material) you should be aware of the following.
As these materials can be created automatically using a minimum of data, you should follow this procedure with a check and possibly further maintenance, especially of plant-specific data. The material group reference material should be defined in as much detail as possible so as to keep the workload to a minimum when you have to create more materials for this material group.
All hierarchy allocations involving a material group (base material group) and a higher or lower hierarchy level can be carried out on the initial screen (there is no need to switch to the detail screen). All further hierarchy allocations can be defined top-down when you maintain material group hierarchies.
Only the material groups are transported automatically!

I want to find out all the products for a particular "Material Group 2". COMM_PRODUCT table dosent contain the Material Group 2 field. I tried finding in other tables, but couldnt find relation between Material Group 2 and the product.

How to change the material group in existing PO

I want to change the material group in already exist PO. like one material have the material group 1002. i have changed the material group in material master i.e. 0022.
In already existed PO for this material, material group is not changing. how do we do this.

if ur po is processed then it is not possible
if it is not processed for gr then just delete the existing material and give new entry of material in same po

Basically, we want that items belonging to some particular material groups must be ordered thru Order Type NB. Rest of all the materials must be ordered thru Order Type "ZNB". How can we achieve this....?

Standard SAP not possible.
This requirement will be fullfilled by USER EXITS / BADI (ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST).
Take help of ABAP team for this as no standard configuration is available for the same in SAP.

How can i message out the unexisted material group name.

Selection screen: material group
s_maktl is a range, "AA_1" to "ZZ_9".
I check the existence of material group in table T023. select *
into table i_t023
where maktl in s_maktl.
Example, 'UU_3" is not in table.
But how can i tell "UU_3" is not existed???
i want to message out the unexisted material group name.
Can anyone help?

In this case you have to know all the combinations of all the materials groups. Taking your example, considering that only letters and numbers vary, we will have tons of possibilities, which is practically not feasible.
Other option would be to check whether the user entered values in LOW and HIGH of select option field, In you example say if AA_1 is not present in T023, i can validate that record.
But at the same time the values which are not entered and are implicitly calculated based on the string patterns, are practically not possible to validate.

How to use Material Group in substitution rule

Hello,
Anyone experience in how to use the entry of the material group of a PO, in a substitution rule for accounting documents.
I have noticed the material number can be used within a substitution rule, and is also available in BSEG... so far have not find a solution to do this for a material group.
Please note, this is applicable for PO with no materials (ONLY a material group to use for account determination).

To generate a default plan value automatically for this new material group, the planning coordinator uses the planning method Copy. HI,
create a new characteristic (KEA5), choose transfer from SAP-table (the tab. where your fiels is available in material master (MARA)), choose the field from the list of available fields from MARA, enter text, save, activate. Assign the char. to your op. concern. Generate the operating concern.
Aftre this steps the field is in yopur operating concern and the derivation rule can be seen in T-Code KEDR (rule created by SAP automatically). If not, add a derivation rule in KEDR (table lookup).
