How much additional traffic does agentless monitoring add to your network

I know this is not a fully evolved question because you could respond, what MP's (Maintenance Packs) do I have installed, and what all am I monitoring, however I am somewhat new to SCOM 2012, I've set it up and have it going, getting great alerting,
right on so far! I have about a dozen servers that will not install the SCOM agent either from the management server via discovery, nor manually, and I want to be sure as not to overload the network with additional traffic.
Your thoughts on this please.
This is a great product once you wrap your head around it, and after a solid 4 days on it.  :)

OpsMgr 2012 Agentless Monitoring resource requirements:
Processor: < 1% average increase in processor utilization
Disk: < 1 average increase in pages per second
Disk: < 1 MB data (as there is no %programfiles%\System Center Operations Manager folder created)
Network: < 1 MB data sent and received to the system during installation
Memory: 14 MB less available memory
Time to Deploy to Monitored state: 2.5 minutes
After the agent was appearing as monitored the performance counters gathered prior to the installation were compared to those gathered after installation. The results indicate additional overhead associated with the Operations Manager 2012 agentless monitoring
after the agent was appearing as monitored.

Disk: < 1 average increase in pages per second
Disk: < 10 MB
Network:  < 1 MB/min additional traffic

  • How can I tell what video card and how much video memory does my iMac have?

How or where can I find out: which video card does my iMac have and how much video memory does it have? I've tried looking in System profiler, but I did not see it there. Thank you.

Once you open System Profiler there should be a line called "memory" which is the RAM (vs. hard drive size which is not what is called memory), e.g., Memory: 1.5 GB
For video click on the line Graphics/Displays and look at the chipset line, e.g., Chipset Model: GeForce2 TwinView
Kappy's instructions are handy for checking the original configuration of your computer, but that may have been changed at some time, especially if you bought it secondhand.

  • Hi. I am going to be buying a macbook air 2012 soon with 4 GB of RAM and wondering how much memory space does norton AV take up and does it drastically slow down the mac. Thanks a lot :)

    Hi
I am going to be buying a macbook air 2012 model with 4 GB ram soon. I was wondering how much space (memory) does Norton AV take up and does it drastically slow down the computer. Also, I am going off to uni so will predominantly be using the laptop for surfing and MS office.
    Thanks a lot

Sorry to disagree mende1.  In this age of email attachments and social networks, it is actually a good idea to have a good antivirus on your system. {I realize that this is a religious argument and I will say no more}.  With that said, the general concensus is that Norton AV is terrible. It is intrusive and uses up a lot of cycles.
There are a lot of better AV clients out there.  I use ClamXav which is free and uses the clamav antivirus that is open source.

How much disk space does Mac OS 10.9.2 take?

5.3 gb if you are upgrading from a lower version of OS X.  If you already have 10.9 and update to 10.9.2 it is about 900 mb.

  • How much XML/Java does one have to know?

I'm new to OA and I have a question. Besides Oracle and PL/SQL how much XML/Jave does one need to know in order to pick up this product. Does it get in your way if you don't know either? Can you get by with out it?
In other words where is that knowledge inportant?

I think this thread has been discussed so many times on this forum, always search old threads before raising new! One need core java knowledge along with pl/sql to start with OAF.
You definately don't need knowledge of xml here as it is generated automatically by Jdeveloper. If you have some knowledge of j2ee design pattern , it would be an added advantage, but basic knowledge of core java is sufficient to start with OAF.

  • How much broadband usage does downloading the illustrator CC trial use up?

would any one know how much broadband usage does downloading the free trial version of illustrator CC use up.

    alrographics,
Presumably non critical, being more a question of download time depending on what you have available.
But you can ask in this specialized forum:

  • How much free space does a 4GB ipod need?

why does it keep saying i dont have enough free space? i already decreased the space to 3.85 GB, and its still saying i dont have enough free space. how much free space does it need?

This is more likely a matter of Apple specifying 4G as 4,000,000,000 byte rather than 41024*10241024 byte like your computer counts.
Using the "1000 notation", your 3.85GB would require 4.1GB. Try trimming your library down a bit more (to around 3.7G). I don't have my Nano yet, so I cannot verify if the device actually uses any of those "4G" for things other than storing your data.

  • 45 minutes into editing, CS3 crashes every time...how much free space does it require to run?

I have noted the error, but cannot contact Adobe with question. How much free space does it need to run efficiently? This happens every time I try to edit and is costing me so much time, it is not worth using this product. Help...

    Hi,
I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing this problem. First, I would need to know what kind of computer you use. You should usually alllocate at least 30% of storage for photoshop files, rendering etc.
Also, it is important to know if you have a computer that is capable of handling large files(as they will need a competent video card processor, RAM and processor speed).
Does the problem usually happen for large files or only one?
Let me know if you find this information useful,
    Vicente.

  • How much Internet data does Creative Cloud send/receive when it connects?

For a number of reasons, the only Internet access that I have on my main computer (a desktop) is via my phone's mobile hotspot feature. Unfortunately, this means that I have a limited amount of data available. So, before I set up Creative Cloud on my computer, I'd like to verify that CC won't be using up all my data.
The programs that I'll be using are Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. My computer is a PC, if that makes any difference. Can anyone tell me: How much Internet data will these programs use for their routine connections?
Also, if I want to keep up-to-date on the updates, approximately how much additional data would that use?
    Thanks much.
P.S. I may not be able to access the Internet at all on my computer for several months. (I'd be transferring documents to and from the computer using a flash drive.) If this happens, will I be able to continue using my CC programs?

    Hi CarlaDee,
I think downloading apps and updates will be the most data intensive. With the yearly plan the service would need to do a license check every 99 days. I'd recommend using the trial to get a sense of the bandwidth usage.

  • Finding out how much root space does each app take...

Hello! I was wondering if there is a way to find out how much root space does each installed app take, like a X-terminal command or something? Just want to figure out if i have some "non-optified" programmes (I believe this is the right term, but could very well be wrong) Cheers
    Solved!

    Thaaaaats better
Wow.. MC is a freaking space hog! 5meg of root space
libmagic is interesting.. not sure what needs that.. it's used by software to tell what file type a file is.. it can look at a jpeg, for example and tell you it is a jpg.. clever stuff really (it doesn't use the file extension like windows) so I assume this is possibly midnight commander too..
Out of all the extra packets you've installed, they're using 19,184,792 bytes of root space.. 18meg..
5meg is midnight commander, 3 meg is QT3 support (not sure why you have that) and another 1.3meg is libmagic and 2 meg is some Python stuff..
Killing off midnight commander would free some space... (why this isn't on /opt, I don't know) but realistically you've not used too much.. you should be fine!
    ---edit---
I finished re-reading your post, not just the log file.. HA!! The funny thing is, doing this command line stuff is second nature to me.. I frequently do it in my sleep The N900 is therefore the ideal phone for someone of this disposition.. I need to find out blah statistics.. erm.. COMMAND LINE
If you want to wander down such a particularly perverse path, I'm happy to help out and newbieness is always forgiven
But it just shows what you can get away with using nothing more than litterally a few command line commands! pretty neat really!

  • How much VLAN traffic on .1Q trunk

Hi guys, we have two 6509 connecting to each other with eight L2 links which are .1q trunks. There are VLAN interfaces on both 6509 for vlan10 and vlan20. My question is how to find out how much vlan10 and vlan20 traffic going through on link1? I know we can get the stat on vlan interface, but are there any other ways to check it out on trunk interface?

  • I Have Logic 9. How much disk space will LP X add?

    Hi,
just curious... I have LP 9 on my computer, and my disk is getting, well, fuller (250G or so left). How much disk space will be taken if install LP X next to LP 9? Am I correct that LP X will re-use the old libraries and just adds new content to it? Just curious how much my HD will shrink...
For the time being, I want to keep LP9 alongside LP X for old projects with 32 bit plugins.
    Thnx, Jaap

Well... I took the plunge... it seems that the additional content is around 20...25 GB.
When I first installed LP X and opened one of my LP 9 projects, the instruments sounded like toy instruments. LP X obviously didn't "know" yet that the HQ samples were already on my harddisk. After I started downloading the additional content LP X apparantly checked what it needed, and suddenly my old projects sounded fine.
