How much ATI does a macbook have?

My child wants to get Team Fortress 2 but i heard it didn't work on his friends computer. How much ATI does a macbook have?

Acually I'm sort of right since AMD dropped the ATI name in Aug. 2010. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radeon And Apple didn't use them in MacBook Pros until 2011 http://support.apple.com/specs/#macbookpro
Current MacBooks use the NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics processor with 256MB of DDR3 SDRAM shared with main memory. They've used the Nvida since early 2009 http://support.apple.com/specs/#macbook

  • How much ram does my macbook pro have?

How can I tell how much ram memory my mac book pro originally came with? I now only have 2 gbs left and am running out of space with all my photos, aps, videos and music. I don't want to keep moving things on and off the computer with an external hard drive. Is there a way to get more ram? My ipad has 64gbs and holds everything - but apparently my computer doesn't.

Time Machine backup disks should be external ... separate from the computer.
Several places sell external disks that are already formatted for Mac.  Others tell you that external disks not formatted for Mac can be reforatted, but save yourself the grief for now and buy Mac-ready.
Buy a *new* disk, in my opinion.  Do not reuse an old disk.
Some can suggest certain brand names as "better", but even the best disk-brand will have bad apples in the mix.
If any others have a convenient link for Time Machine Tutorial, please provide.  I have learned enough alreay, generally through trial and error on my own.
But focus on getting that first backup done within the next 2 days.
As to "probably need a new HD", perhaps you can move enough off to an external disk.  Cross that bridge after you get the backup.
If you get the sense that critical things are done first and that you should save yourself complex things like "how to replace a harddisk" for later, you are reading my posts correctly.

  • How much electricity does a Macbook Air use?

I'm moving out and living on my own for the first time. It'll also be the first time I have to pay utility bills. I was wondering how much electricty a Macbook Air (2011) uses during use, sleep, and charging. I'm a college student so I don't have a lot of disposable income so I want to save as much as possible. If I remember correctly, my desktop computer used to shut down every time I opened iTunes when it would work just find when I did other things. Does that mean iTunes uses a lot of energy to operate?
Anyways, I'm wondering if the usage of electricity is high for Macbook Air (2011) and whether I need to charge up my laptop at the nearest starbucks or library.
    Thanks in advance.

It uses very little power,  cents/month.  In any case the power adapter is 45watts so the max it could use would be equivelant to leaving a 45w light on all the time.  Reality is much much less.

  • How much RAM does verizon internet have dedicated?

Using GT704WG hard wired to Gateway 3 Ghz 2048 MB DDR2. I-MAC wireless in another room. Verizon is ISP. I have 1300 MB free RAM after I log on. Less as I surf. (win xp sp 3).
I wouldn't normally think of Ram as an issue when they only used, to put 512 mb in these things and they ran alot faster.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

How much RAM you are utilizing has nothing to do with your ISP. It has to do with your computer and the software you have running. If your browser is using too much memory, then you need to troubleshoot your browser.

  • How much RAM does the MacBook Pro have?

I need at least 4GB RAM preferably 8GB RAM.... it is for school and i have many games and scrapbook tools for my electives.... please help.

Are you planning on buying a MacBook Pro or do you already have one? Apple sells MBPs (non-Retina) with either 4GB or 8GB of RAM. The problem with buying RAM from Apple is that it's so expensive. If you ordered a 4GB machine, for instance, you could upgrade it yourself to 8GB or 16GB without voiding the warranty.
So if you're buying - go with a 'base' 4GB model and buy the RAM and install it yourself.

  • How much hotness does a MacBook Pro support without any damages?

I've been having some doubts about the wellness of my computer, which is almost new. I got it around 2 weeks ago, maybe a little more days than that, as a replacement for a previous one. I decided to run the AHT (Apple Hardware Test) 8 times in a row to get as far away from any insecurities as possible, but yet, I don't know how accurate this test can be. I ran the complete ones, and let it connected the whole period of time.
What got me into running the test was the fact that, when taking it back home on the trunk (still packaged) we casually happened to go through some really sketchy roads for about half an hour. Roads that were covered by little rocks and not plain concrete. After that, we passed over roads that weren't even covered in concrete, but just fine soil, with road bumps almost every 21 yards, and potholes appearing oftenly (d*mmit). It's the kind of roads you find on rustic towns in Mexico. The ride wasn't chaotically horrible, but it wasn't comfortable at all, either. I'm just trying to get the picture straight.
Anyways: My question derives from the point that, during the tests, the device isn't working in a normal manner indeed, but inspecting each and every internal part of hardware, in comparison to a normal usage of running programs and letting the fan do its job to cool off the system. In these tests, the fan just works when it is time to check it, as far as I understand it. Since I ran the test for 8 times "straight", and some minutes more, maybe 10 or so, I'm wondering about if I committed a mistake when doing all of that. I decided to turn it off and almost immediately thought about it. I pulled up the laptop and felt the lower-left side as very hot, and when I say that, I do mean it was really hot. Maybe it sounds silly, but I got this worry that, possibly, something inside could have deteriorated from the heat, but these computers are, supposedly, very resistent as a whole. I also wonder if it's bad to let the AHT run for so long, I mean, if it could "wear off" the hardware, any of it.
I'd like my whole post to be answered as thoroughly as possibly, and not simply yes/no answers without some explanation to make it clearer and better as a response. I'd thank you for that very much, and pardon me for my possible obsessions, but technology is delicate, and I just want my computer to be fine. I trust you understand.

So, what do you recommend? Is it fine if I leave it like that? Should I take it to someone else to get it checked, to get my doubts cleared? Where I live, there aren't any Apple Stores, so it means no Genius Bars, unfortunately, but the people who work at the "iShops" are capable enough to reach the level, or at least that's what they say. They practically take your computer to a room at the back of the place, close the door, and then they come out with the according verdict.

  • How much RAM does the iPad2 have?

I looked at the tech specs and other documentation I could find, however I don't see anything that states the amount of RAM the iPad2 will have. There didn't seem to be any mention of that in the Apple presentation either. Does anyone know where I could find this information?

    RAM is not irrelevant.
If you had used an iPad at all you could not have failed to notice how Safari frequently needs to re-load web-pages when switching between them, as they are unloaded when the iPad runs short of RAM.
This is particularly annoying when using forums for instance, as you start writing a reply, switch to another page to copy some info, switch back and the forum page has to reload losing what you had already typed.
Also, on long image heavy web-pages, you must've noticed the big blank areas where the iPad has had to unload previously viewed parts of a web-page when scrolling.
Also, when using the multi-tasking feature of iOS, when the iPad runs short of RAM apps are dumped from memory meaning they are not as quick to re-load when you switch back to them.
More RAM would help alleviate all of these issues.
The relatively small amount of RAM and frequent web page reloading would be my only complaint about the first iPad.

  • How many fans does a MacBook have?

Must be pretty amusing for most of you, but this is my first mac and the Fan utility (installed by me, forgot the name ... something smcXXXX ...) from the Control Panel (sorry, long time Windows user) is reporting Fan 1 with some normal value, and Fan 2 with a -1 value.
So, in case the thing has 2 fans ... what can I do?
    Thanks!

Glad I could help. Thanks for the star.

  • How much space does MacBook Air OS and software take up?

    Greetings,
I am looking to replace my aging 2008 MacBook with a new MacBook Air.  I want to get the 11 inch model most likely with the 128GB of storage.   I will use it mostly for email, web surfing and other light duty work.
While I don't intend to load it up with various software, I will probably put a half dozen peices of software on it, over and above the Apple software it comes with. But, no biggies like PhotoShop.    My question is this:
About how much space does the Apple OS and the assorted Apple software that comes standard take up?
I cannot spend a lot and would like to avoid buying the bigger drive if possible.
    Thanks.

new from box it will have 121 GB available.
I cannot spend a lot and would like to avoid buying the bigger drive if possible.
Thats a bad working premise, no computer is a data storage device.  You dont need a huge SSD, just an external HD for data backups and for putting tons of big media files on.
128GB is plenty for almost everyone,  IF they know very very simple rules of drive management.

  • How much ram does the iPhone 6 Plus have?

How much ram does the iPhone 6 Plus have?

This is what I got on the info....
IPhone’s RAM has been very little, even pitiful compared to other flagships. Now 1GB RAM is still the standard configuration for the current iPhone 5 / 5s and iPhone 6.
Is Apple’s system optimization can really never need to increase the memory capacity? Obviously the answer is no. Recently, GSMArena published a sheet of iPhone 6 Plus detailed specifications, we can clearly see the “2GB RAM” in the memory list.
GSMArena also posted the benchmark score for iPhone 6 yesterday, but we seen that A8 GPU not seem to improve a lot in the processing capability compared to A7 – only increased 4.65%.
Apple usually not declare the detailed hardware parameters of their products, because those indicators not have too many advantages compared to other similar products, and even looks a bit shabby. But for Apple, these are not the most important, the company always focusing on the overall performance and user experience of the product. iPhone 6 Plus is the largest ever. Apple has said the iPhone 6 Plus screen reached 1080P in the event, as a larger screen means more resource consumption, and the processor needs to handle higher pixel image, so increasing RAM is the best choice to enhance stability and performance.
So based on the above evidence and our speculate, iPhone 6 is indeed possible with 2GB RAM. If in doubt, all we could wait is finding out the truth after dismantling the device. Course this just may be a beginning, we also expect Apple can give more memory for the upcoming next-generation iPad and iPad Mini.

  • How much sound does a RMBP make

I'm planning on getting my first Mac. The $2,799 MacBook Pro with retina display 15". I have a student discount so it will be $2,599 instead.
I am going to wait for the next generation of MacBooks to be released, also I have a question about its sounds. Will it make a lot of sound like fan noises? It needs to be COMPLETELY silent. Because I will be using this next year in class when I'm a sophomore. And does the keyboard make any noise either? Thanks!
Also, if I get something like "it depends on what you are doing" here are some examples.
5-7 tabs open and a text editor for notes, some system settings and misc things. No gaming.                   How much sound does this make?
    Thanks in advance!

I have one and it is totally silent, unless I am mirroring video to my tv, then the fans kick on.
For example, I routinely have ten or more tabs open and it is silent. Video or video editing may make the fans be audible. The keyboard is quiet.
I am a low income person who loves the retina display. It makes ordinary photos seem professional. The extra size from the 13" is useful.
Best to play with the choices at an Apple Store to check out your preferences, if possible.
Text on the retina kind of spoils me for any other computer.
