How mcuh can you fit on a dvd using iDVD? Can you fit 2 hours, maybe more.

No, 2 hours, maybe less!
The maximum capacity of a DVD is 120 minutes, but that includes titles, transitions etc.
If you work on 1 hr 45 minutes you should be OK.
The only exception is if you burn the DVD using Roxio Toast, which has the ability to 'compress to fit', but there is a quality penalty.
The attention span of the audience is also a factor....

Are we sure that a voice memo can only be 35 minutes long? I only ask as I'm about to start Uni and was quite keen to use the voice memo feature to record lectures (which are definitely longer than 35mins).
Just to test (as I've never really used mine before) I might leave mine running tonight and see when it cuts out/stops.

I know that you need to be an Enterprise user to have completely customized storefronts, but how much can you customize Professional user storefronts? What do they look like? Most magazines I've seen are Enterprise level

With a Professional account, you cannot customize the storefront. If you create a subscription app, you can specify subscription tiles and indicate with subscription durations are available, but that's about it.

The 6.43 GB is how much storage that is available to you to use. The difference between 6.43 ansd 8 GB is taken up by the iOS.

I think Nick is saying that there are only a couple of applications in the Utilities folder, not the number of running processes in the Activity Monitor itself. If that is the case, then an Archive & Install of Mac OS X might be the best option. It would be possible to use an application like Pacifist to extract the individual applications, but that might be quite a bit more complicated in the end. I have 30 items in my Utilities folder.

Start up iTunes, and select Music, then click Songs.
Down at the bottom of the iTunes window, it will tell you how much space your library occupies.

Kernel Memory limits. How much can it usefully use?

I just wanted to check something.
Obviously the Linux kernel can handle a lot of memory, but the question is how much can it usefully use before it needs to be specially compiled?
I need to build a server to clean email, and because it is very very busy, (well the last one was and so is its stand in) it will need 4GB of RAM as an absolute minimum but I would like to put in 8. If I go for 8, do I need to rebuild the kernel?

If you install Arch64 and use the normal kernel package -- no. You won't touch the RAM limit for some decades to come.

How much can I sell this T61 for?

Hello - I have a laptop configured as shown below. I actually got it about a month ago, there is a display problem that I have sent it into support already. I've already talked about it here: http://forums.lenovo.com/lnv/board/message?board.id=T_Series_Thinkpads&thread.id=12209 - they sent it back, but it still isn't fixed. And they also managed to put some scratches on the lid of the laptop, too. I'll probably call support once more again to see what they would do. I'm going to be staring at the same screen for at least two years so it might as well be something I like, even though other people don't readily notice the same problem I do. Since the return period has passed, how much do you think I can sell this for?

Go to Settings - General - Usage, and you will see a breakdown of all your apps along with how much space they are using.
My guess is that you have a lot of pictures that should probably be exported to your PC/Mac to free up your space. 5GB is a lot for one phone, you should be able to get by without buying more storage if you do a little housecleaning first.

gyrhead mentione OnLive and I find this is the best solution. Im thinking about paying the monthly fee for it becuase its that good. Although gyrhead is correct about the virtual keyboard, I find that using a bluetooth keyboard works great. I use CloudOn also but find that its not a "full" version of Office...well at least Excel. You cant create Pivot Tables and other things.

DAM = "Digital Asset Manager", a fancy name for a filing system.
iPhoto keeps the original and makes one (usually much smaller) copy based on your edits. It is non-destructive in that if you crop, and later change the color, iPhoto will go back to the original and apply the corrections to get the new image, it will not simply modify the preview.
If you want a high quality copy of the image, use the export function which allows you to specify the size and compression.

Well, this isn't notebook community for one. For another Top is quite good and can show you a lot or stick with Activity Monitor with its GUI.
You definitely want to install a utility to monitor temps, whether iStatPro or Temperature Monitor

Energy = watts but you don't mean measuring what you are using off the wall outlet, rather the fan speed and temperature sensors.
If you know you will be doing something to stress the system, FanControl can set profiles and instead of waiting to get hot, kick up the fan rpm to something more useful first. Works well.
You could have software that is not well behaved. Or that you installed years ago that is not compatible with what you have now. When last you installed the OS whether it was an upgrade in place or clean install (and used Setup Assistant to import apps).
