How much cpu does itunes require to import a cd?

istat pro reported 98% cpu used by itunes in importing a cd!
this cant be normal?
this was in the 'processes' section. in the cpu section it was saying about 50%.
same reported in activity monitor.
.... neither of which sound normal to me?
btw the cd is new, and did eventually import fine, even if a little slowly at about x4
my temp went up to almost 80 degrees C, with only adium being in the background.

hmm ok thanks glad to hear that from another user.
the reason im so paranoid is because my superdrive is definetly on the way out.
its makes propeller type noises now and then, and the vibrations are terrible.
its just a case of when it fails ... and when i can spare my macbook for its 6th week of repairs.
what a pile of crap

  • How much space does iTunes take?

I'm afraid if it's too much, my laptop won't function properly. My laptop is already slowing down from all of it's contents. I want to know how much memory (in MB) iTunes takes up before downloading it on my laptop.

As a genreral rule, you should have 10%-15% free space on your boot drive.
A 250GB drive should have at least ~15GB-20GB free space.

  • After updating to 4.3 I can't connect to wi-fi because the "internet speeds are too slow". How much speed does this require?

After updating to 4.3 I can't connect to wi-fi because the "Internet speeds are too slow". So what speed does it need?

I called tech support and I got the same **** canned response, backup and reset to factory settings.  Yeah right!  Everything was fine until Verizon shoved the software update down my throat.  I finally unchecked the box in Wi-Fi settings for auto network switch.  However, I still get the "Your Internet connection is unstable" warning no matter what Wi-Fi connection I hit.
In a related story, I received a new or refurbished phone as my original SIII had AC/charging connection issues.  I called probably three times to attempt to back up my data, went into two stores in attempts to have them transfer the information over, and all were too incompetent and inept to assist me.  Only when talking to someone about this Wi-Fi issue, did someone actually know how to back up everything.  Of course by this time, I had to send the new phone back because Verizon charged me $400 before I got everything squared away.  What a colossal waste of my time!

  • How much space does iTunes need?

    Hi!
When I drag my movies and TV-series into iTunes, the free space on my hard drive gets smaller. I understand that when I upload a movie on iTunes it makes a copy of the file. Is that correct? Can it be shut off so that iTunes will just stream the file or something instead of duplicating it? Otherwise I can't upload so many things
    /Jonas

iTunes lets you delete 'database entries' for media easily but will ask if yiou want to delete the media files too.
If the media files have copied to itunes and they still exist elsewhere delete them safe to let itunes delete the copies to free up space, then re-add from the external drive or wherever they reside after changing the setting as advised by Sgt. Pinback.
Ensure you have backups and depending on system don't rush to empty Trash or Recycle Bin until you're happy.
So in essence you need to delete the copies from itunes, the re-add the files by reference (rather than copying).

  • How much time does the ESS import take?

    Hi,
How much time does import of ESS into NWDI take?
I have selected following files for import yesterday:
    SAP-JEE
    SAP-BUILDT
    SAP-ESS
    SAP-JTECHS
    SAPPCUI_GP
and looked at it today and it is still importing.
In CMS Transport Studio State column displays message:  Import running.
Any ideas why it takes so long?
    Regards,

    Hi,
I have imported files one by one in this order:
    SAP-JEE
    SAP_BUILDT
    SAP_JTECHS
    SAPPCUI_GP
    SAP_ESS
    Is this order correct?
    I didn't import EP_BUILDT - is it required?
I have checked the CBS logs and there is one broken DC in SAPPCUI_GP compartment
    in the pcui_gp/isr development component.
The build log contains this error:

  • How much space does iOS 6 or iOS 7 require?

On a 8 GB iphone how much space does iOS 6 or iOS 7 take up?

No one can tell you specifically, as it will vary by device and user and according to your personal data on the device etc. But, you can expect anywhere roughly around 175-195MB.

  • How do I stop iTunes from automatically importing songs I listen to from my external hard drive into the music library?

How do I stop iTunes from automatically importing songs I listen to from my external hard drive into the music library?

    Mac OS X: Double-Clicking a File Opens the Wrong Application - http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2291
-= Changing the application used to open all files of a certain kind (written with reference to OSX 10.4 but may not have changed) =-
    1) In a Finder window highlight a file of the kind you want to change the application to open that kind of file.
    2) While that file is highlighted, select File > Get Info or press command (apple or propeller icon) + i to get a file information window.
    3) In the lower part of the info window there is an "open with" menu with a list of applications.
    4) If your application is already in the box then it is the default application for opening that kind of file and you don't need to do anything more.  Close the get info window.
    5) If the application showing in the menu is not the one with which you wish to open the file then select a new application. If your application does not appear there then select the "other..." and track down the application (usually in the Applications folder at the main level of the computer).
    6) If you wish to change all files of this type to open with this application in future, make sure the "change all" button is selected.
    7) Close the get info window.

  • How much CPU should the Agent (in general) be using on an Exchange 2010 Server

    Hello
Can someone please help me with the following question.
I was asked by the Exchange admin if the HealthService.exe process should be using around 10% of the CPU on a 6 core system.
First of I am note sure if the agent can use more than one core and if the % CPU as shown in Task Manager reflects all cores for a given process e.g. does 10% mean 10% across all cores or just one core.
I explained the Agent is running many workflows and instigating other tasks i.e. monitoring host and perhaps cscript etc. So it is difficult to say how much CPU is normal!
However does anyone else have an Exchange 2010 environment (I am using SCOM 2007 R2 CU6) and if so how much CPU is it using over a few minutes?
also, if there a canned report I can run which shows how much CPU the agent is using over time.
    Thanks in advance

There are many scripts and monitoring workflows in general that run in the Exchange management pack. CPU may spike periodically while scripts are executing. However, this may be a SyncTime issue in the Exchange pack - since there are many scripts in the
pack, it would be recommended to cascade script runtime by using SyncTime configuration. I haven't taken a look at this pack in some time, so cannot comment on whether this practice was used. In general, a typical SCOM agent should not use more than 1-5% CPU
time, sustained. But, again, for heavily scripted packs like the Exchange pack, you will likely see CPU spikes regularly.

How much space does a Windows 7 install take on a Mac?

Installation of Windows 7 is required at least around 20GB of disk space 64bit version, 32bit version is around 16GB, 100GB is a sensible amount of disk space for a Windows installation, I suppose.

  • How much space does OS X Mountain Lion take?

I am considering a MacBook Air 128 GB for my next laptop, but I'm not sure if that's enough. How much space does the OS take up?

OS X Mountain Lion, without any third-party app, takes about 9 GB of hard disk. The minimum requirement is 8 GB of hard drive space, so if you have to store a lot of data, you may have to buy an external drive to store all the files you want

  • How much ram does the iPhone 6 Plus have?

How much ram does the iPhone 6 Plus have?

This is what I got on the info....
IPhone’s RAM has been very little, even pitiful compared to other flagships. Now 1GB RAM is still the standard configuration for the current iPhone 5 / 5s and iPhone 6.
Is Apple’s system optimization can really never need to increase the memory capacity? Obviously the answer is no. Recently, GSMArena published a sheet of iPhone 6 Plus detailed specifications, we can clearly see the “2GB RAM” in the memory list.
GSMArena also posted the benchmark score for iPhone 6 yesterday, but we seen that A8 GPU not seem to improve a lot in the processing capability compared to A7 – only increased 4.65%.
Apple usually not declare the detailed hardware parameters of their products, because those indicators not have too many advantages compared to other similar products, and even looks a bit shabby. But for Apple, these are not the most important, the company always focusing on the overall performance and user experience of the product. iPhone 6 Plus is the largest ever. Apple has said the iPhone 6 Plus screen reached 1080P in the event, as a larger screen means more resource consumption, and the processor needs to handle higher pixel image, so increasing RAM is the best choice to enhance stability and performance.
So based on the above evidence and our speculate, iPhone 6 is indeed possible with 2GB RAM. If in doubt, all we could wait is finding out the truth after dismantling the device. Course this just may be a beginning, we also expect Apple can give more memory for the upcoming next-generation iPad and iPad Mini.
