I keep getting alerts that my iCloud is almost at capacity. 5GB sounds like so much storage. I can't believe that a normal person such as myself would even get close to using it all. I have no documents, only 800 pictures and perhaps the same amount of music in the cloud. I have turned off all apps. Does anyone have any suggestions?

You might check Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage to see what's using all the storage. If the items listed there don't account for it, connect your phone to your computer and check the capacity bar in iTunes to see how large the "Other" (yellow) segment is. If it's unusually large (multiple GBs), you probably need to restore your phone to reduce it.

My hard drive failed today:( Already called AppleCare and he diagnosed the problem but I don't have AppleCare so I'll have to pay for it.
How much does it cost to have Apple replace it? It's a 320GB HD on my 13" MacBook Pro.

I was quoted $600 a few years ago to replace a 350GB with a 500GB and it was a poor Seagate issue at 5,400 RPM.
So it did it myself for $300 and got a higher quality 500GB Hitachi drive (before WD bought them) at 7,200 RPM, so my old machine is still fast.
I recommend a 7,200 RPM 500 or 750GB drive, even a 1TB will future proof you well. The added speed gives added performance for a slight drop in battery life perhaps.
A SSD in 480GB size is about $1200-$1500 or so, even $1800 for the new screamers, that's just for the drive, not including Apple's mark up.. Not worth it IMO.
Throw some more RAM in it while you got the opportunity I think you machine can handle 8GB , use the free MacTracker to find out,, you might be able to stick more in there than Apple says.
Apple quoted me $435 plus tax to upgrade my 4GB to 8GB,( it's only $200 something if you do it with a new machine as they keep the new 4GB RAM.) The same 8GB RAM can be had at Crucial.com for $70.
So it certainly pays to do it yourself, Apple clearly doesn't want your business.
Doing it yourself doesn't void your AppleCare or warranty as long as you don't break anything.
You have 10.7, so your machine had 10.6 before, you need to format the drive HFS+ with a GUID then install 10.6, then to 10.6.8, then AppStore option click on Purchases and install Lion again, then all your third party programs from fresh sources and files manually from backup. (no migration assistant if you can help it) In that order for best performance.
If you have a factory Lion Mac or not 10.6 disks, then you need a copy of yours or anothers Recovery Partition using this on 1GB+ USB formatted GUID OS X extended journaled, hold option boot from it to install Lion. You will need your Apple ID to download Lion I think.

How much does Apple charge to have a laptop cleaned from spilled soda?

So my GF spilled soda on her laptop about a year ago and was wondering how much does apple normally charge to have a Macbook cleaned? She has a late 2011 13" Macbook Pro. The soda residue has been in the laptop for a little over a year, but I'm guessing it's good that the Macbook still functions (I only turn it on for no more than a minute). It also still holds a charge and takes a charge as well.

You have to be the judge of whether it is cost effective to you. My hard drive continually has the floating beach ball and will take massive time to fulfill a request. And then will not boot up...so then I have to do a restore and rebuild hard drive from a past saved time machine version. Works for a little bit...then the floating beachball comes more and more...until it will not boot up again. So then I restore from a previous time machine saved version....and again it works for a day or so ... until it happens again. Now it's happening faster and faster...so I think my hard drive is dying.

How much does Premiere Pro and After Effects rely on the hard drive it's installed on?

This may be a really dumb question, but how much does Premiere Pro and After Effects rely on the hard drive it's installed on if all your video files, assets, disk cache, etc are on different drives than the one the program itself is installed on?
The reason I am asking is that I currently have a "relatively" slow Sata II SSD for my C drive that has just my OS (windows 7 64bit) and programs (adobe editing programs, no games) installed on it and nothing else. All of the files used in my projects are saved on either a very fast Sata III SSD or a slower HDD depending on what the files are. For example, disk cache on the Sata III, stills on the HDD.
Being cyber monday I have the opportunity to buy another very fast Sata III SSD to replace my current Sata II SSD C Drive (just OS and programs). Both synthetic and real world benchmarks show a near double in performance. I just want to know if anyone thinks the upgrade is even worth it because for all I know there won't be any increase in performance since no videos, still, cach, etc will be stored on the C Drive.
The alternative is to get a second monitor because I currently only use one 21" monitor.
I suppose another alternative would be to not buy anything on the cyber monday deals and just save money for something else.

Thanks Alex! I think you are right about not being able to notice the difference between the SSDs. I ended up finding a deal to get about $80 off a great monitor that I've been looking at for a while and decided to pull the trigger on it. I thought about it and realized that there have already been a bunch of times where I want to watch a tutorial on youtube and follow allong in AE or PrePro, but have to keep switching windows. I also frequently want to have my video preview on a separate monitor so I can have a taller timeline window. This monitor will help a lot with that. Thanks again for your help!

Had iPhone 3,4 and 5 and never had protective case. over the years phones fell several times. they even fell down on road, except for small dings on the edges they never had cracked screens.
6 plus screen cracked after falling less than 3 feet (from back pocket) on to wood floor, even with protective case (bought case so that it won't slip from the hand, phone being so slippery).
I think, Quality of apple hardware and software went down drastically with latest round of refresh.
iOS 8 has lot of issues.
usually hardware is high quality but seems like that is not the case anymore.
Even worse part of the experience is:
    had online chat with apple support person and (Julian) he/she mentioned he/she will give me a deal for $129, fixing the screen.
    After a quick google search, seems like list price of fixing the screen is in fact $129, I don't think there is any deal (see the question).

Either you misunderstood, or they were simply trying to explain how a screen replacement is less expensive than whole unit replacement.

What MichelPM suggested is the SAFEST solution. Firefox is a better browser than Safari, and you will not be faced with any potentially crippling consequences of a full OS update.
You will presumably have to update your system at some point, and you should prepare for that by maintaining a full, up-to-date backup of your current main system on an external hard drive. You can use SuperDuper ($25) or Carbon Copy Cloner (the legacy version, 3.5.7) to clone your current system to an external drive. I suggest that you go to the iFixit.com and Powerbookmedic.com and look for parts and prices. That naturally assumes that you know what parts are defective and need to be replaced.
