I don't want to pay over £25 ($32) and I live in the UK. I have seen some posts that people have had them replaced and fitted for free too.

Anywhere from £82.44 for the 8 GB model to about twice that for the 64 GB.

Changing the case yourself will void the warranty. You are highly likely to cause damage unless you know exactly what you are doing.
Also avoid the 3rd party cases from ebay or places like that as most of them don't fit properly.
A nokia care point can fit original nokia covers for you without voiding the warranty.

Apple will replace your iPod with a refurbished one for $79 (USA) or you could do a Google search on "replace iPod battery" for a local or on line repair place that will replace the battery for less. You can even find a replacement battery (same search) and replace it yourself if you're up to it.
