    By third party we mean a place that is not an Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) or Apple Authorized Distributor (AAD) - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1434
    I browsed the iFix web site.  Nowhere does it specifically state they are an AASP and usually places that are will make that immediately obvious.  Their FAQ mostly mentions how to set up a franchise and does not  state that repairs made by them will not void any Apple warranty.  Apple is very particular about anybody working on their devices and if they detect somebody else has worked on a device (even if they do a good job) they could refuse to even look at a device again (warranty or not) in their shop.  I'm not passing judgement on other companies, I'm just observing this so the OP knows in advance.

    The underlined clause could be interpreted by Apple to be any sign of anybody else having worked on a device.  This isn't just Apple.  If somebody is going to warranty a service then they want to make sure they are not also covering anything that might have been caused by somebody else working on the device previously.

    No repairs necessary. Only on option is available and that is to replacement the entire screen assembly.
    I'm based in Singapore and Apple has replaced my screen assembly twice, FOC, under APP - in the process of it all there were no less than 5 rejects, as a result of dead pixels and an airport antenna that wouldn't work.
    That pretty much tells you about the quality of these 'Made in China' assemblies.
    A replacement will set you back by approximately SGD1000.00 including labour. Now go figure that amount where you are based - I reckon it should be about USD500-USD600.

    Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours and will not upgrade to 5G.

    To reinforce Dominic's recommendation (which is a great one), a lot of the cost will depend on what mode of MacBook Air it is. The earlier units are typically not serviced in the store, they're done via what is called a "flat rate" repair. The newer ones can have the screen replaced and are a bit cheaper.
    While the numbers most likely have changed, the ballpark is about:
    $650-$800 for the 1st & 2nd generation MBA
    $495-$600 for the 3rd & 4th generation MBA
    Keep in mind those are ballparks off of quotes I received about 14 months ago when I brought in two units for screen replacements. But it gives you a rough gauge to expect when you make your GB appointment.

    If you have a Mid 2011 iMac with the affected graphic card, the repair is free. Make a backup of your data with Time Machine and take it to an Apple Store or reseller.
    If you have any other Mac, it depends. If you have an Early 2009 or older iMac, your logic board has to be replaced, so this is an expensive repair. If you have a Late 2009 or newer iMac, only the graphic card has to be replaced, so the price is much cheaper (about $200, depending on the graphic card your iMac has)
