Well, Thanks @IlIaass for letting me know that the screen doesn't get replacve but you get a new iPod. But then doesn't that indirectly mean that if your iPod is under warranty, you can get the refurbished one i.e. a new screen!! ?

There are independent iPad repair services that may be able to replace the screen for less. Do a web search for "ipad repair". You can also look for parts and instructions and do the repair yourself. Place the iPod in a sealed container with a desiccant for a week. Uncooked rice works. Change the desiccant every day or so for a week.
Do not charge or turn on the iPod until dry. Then try:
